KENT C. GEYER
Kent C. Geyer, 16, of Franklin Park Borough, accidentally on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000. He is survived by his loving parents, Robert J. and Marjorie L. (Six) Geyer of Franklin Park; brothers, Kevin R. Geyer and his wife, Jennifer, of Cranberry Township and Keith J. Geyer of Franklin Park; grandparents, Eugene and Thelma Six of Franklin Park; great-grandmother, Mildred Six of Wexford; a nephew, Bradley Geyer of Cranberry; an aunt and uncle, Linda and Jim Hague; and cousins, Emily and Jeremy Hague, all of Mars. A sophomore at the North Allegheny Intermediate School, Kent was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed rock climbing, hunting, fishing, dirt biking, and jet skiing. GERTRUDE MARKISH
Gertrude Markish, of 333 Broad Ave., North Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Fannie Frketich Markish. Ms. Markish was a lifelong resident of the Mon Valley and a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. She was an employee of Western Union, where she worked as an administrative secretary until she retired in 1985. She was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 194, Monessen, and the Penn Sembles Tamburitzans of Versailles. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Marie Markish of Belle Vernon; two aunts, Frances Gingrich of Largo, Fla., and Jean Frketich of Palm Springs, Calif.; five cousins, Gertrude Gussey of Pittsburgh, Frank Gussey of Monroeville, Ed Kinkopf of Alliance, Ohio, Kathleen Kinkopf of Albuquerque, N.M., and Chuckie Marciniak Cook of Stow, Ohio; a nephew and his wife, Aland and Lorraine Markish, a great-nephew, Ryan Markish, and a great-niece, Erin Markish, all of Odenton, Md.; and many beloved dear friends, too numerous to mention. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Markish; an uncle, Leonard Frketich; and an aunt, Rose Frketich. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. THOMAS PATERSON
Thomas Paterson, 74, of 5175 Ferguson Road, Indiana, Pa., died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at his residence. A son of the late Alexander and Amelia Williams Paterson, he was born July 14, 1925, in Fulton Run, Indiana County. Mr. Paterson was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the Meadowlands Golf Course, both of Indiana, Pa. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Fitch. He was employed by Fisher Scientific for 28 years, retiring in 1986. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mary Morganti Paterson, whom he married April 20, 1949; six sons, Alexander of Indiana, Thomas Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Johnstown, Philip B., Walter J. and his wife, Cathy, Joseph A. and his wife, Sherry, and Andrew S. and his wife, Amy, all of Indiana, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Melissa and Michael, Philip and Caitlin, Chelsea and Braden, and Alex; a brother, Walter of Ernest. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the BOWSER-MINICH FUNERAL HOME, Indiana, where a parish wake service will be held Friday at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard R.C. Church, Indiana, with interment

RAYMOND M. TOBIN JR.
Raymond M. Tobin Jr., 64, of Laurel Gardens, Ross Township, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, in UPMC Passavant, McCandless. Born April 11, 1935, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Mary Bradley Tobin of Ross Township and the late Raymond M. Tobin Sr. After 30 years of service, he retired in 1986 as a carpenter with Local Union 211. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church, Ross Township. From 1958 to 1960, he served as a U.S. Army Specialist 4th Class in Co. D, 60th Infantry, and was a member of VFW Post 2754, West View. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gladys Regotti Tobin; a daughter, Teresa Johnescu of York; two sons, Thomas M. Tobin of McCandless and Daniel J. Tobin of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Marjorie Kreutzer of Ross Township; two brothers, Robert F. Tobin of St. Petersburg, Fla., and the Most Rev. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin of Youngstown, Ohio; and two grandchildren. Friends are being received Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME INC., 1032 Perry Highway, Ross Township. JESSIE B. WETZEL
Jessie B. Wetzel, 82, of Stahlstown, formerly of Latrobe, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, in the Nedrow's Personal Care Home, Stahlstown. She was born June 16, 1917, and adopted on Dec. 20, 1923, by George E. and Edna M. Bates. She graduated from Ligonier High School in the Class of 1936 and was a member of the Christ United Church of Christ, Latrobe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Jack" Wetzel, on Feb. 16, 1980; and a brother, Jack Bates. Jessie was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by numerous cousins and friends. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATORY, Bell and East Church streets, Ligonier. Pamela E. "Pam" Fink, 35, of Ross Township, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in Mercy Hospital. She is survived by her loving parents, Robert W. and Frances Sherry Fink; a brother, Robert W. Fink; her fiance, Timothy L. Zbel, all of Ross Township; and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A 1982 graduate of North Hills High School, Pamela was a Registered Sales Assistant with the A.G. JAMES FRANCIS KARINSHAK
James Francis Karinshak, 62, of Morgantown, W.Va., formerly of Collier, Pa., died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Collier, a son of Mary (Balas) Karinshak of Leesburg, Va., formerly of Collier, and the late John M. Karinshak. He was a member of St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a former coal miner, and worked for many years as an insurance agent for the American General Insurance Co. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Hilda M. (Embacher) Karinshak of Morgantown; three children, Teresa "Terri" Perkins and husband, Thomas, of Delmont, Linda Oblack and husband, Jeffrey, of Apollo, and James R. Karinshak and wife, Samantha, of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Stephanie Perkins, Devon and Tanner Oblack, and Patrick Obrien Karinshak; and the following brothers and sisters: Frederick Karinshak of Greencastle, Emily Van Sanford of Woodbridge, Va., Judith Karinshak of Arlington, Va., Kenneth Karinshak of Columbia, Md., Lawrence Karinshak of the state of Texas and Michael Karinshak of Leesburg, Va. HARRY L. McCANN
Harry L. McCann, 82, of Mt. Lebanon, on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, following a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Blanche (Wolski) McCann. Beloved father of Gregory L. and Mary McCann and Jeffrey G. and Maureen McCann. Brother of Donald M. McCann of Speers, Pa. Grandfather of Alan, Brendan and Matthew. Friends received Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at PAUL L. HENNEY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church. Family requests contributions to St. Joseph House of Hospitality, 1635 Bedford Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Mr. McCann taught English at Mt. Lebanon High School for 20 years. He also taught English and social studies in the Charleroi Area School District. Mr. McCann served as an organist in Catholic and Protestant churches in the Monongahela Valley and Pittsburgh areas. His last position was organist at Heinz Chapel playing for the Sunday noon liturgy for the Oratory Father Newman Center Masses for students of Pitt, Carnegie Mellon, and Chatham College. Mr. McCann did volunteer work at Eye and Ear and Presbyterian hospitals for 12 years. During World War II, Mr. McCann served in the U.S. Army for four years. While serving in Germany at the end of the war, Mr. McCann attended the University of Paris studying French, French history, and culture. He also studied organ at the Sorbonne in Paris.
