Lula Mae Fisher, 85, of Somerset, passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Conemaugh Hospital, Johnstown. Born Feb. 8, 1914, in Donegal. Daughter of Robert and Etta (Eicher) Stahl. Preceded in death by parents; husband, J. Harold Fisher; children, Emily, Samuel and David; grandson, Jeffrey Close; an infant granddaughter; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Amos and Charles Stahl; and sisters, Florence Miller, Mary Weyandt and Gertrude Hostetler. Survived by children, Mrs. Lewis (Goldie) Shaffer of Somerset; John R. (Janet) Fisher of Sipesville, Emogene Zerfoss of Friedens, Mrs. Wayne (Nora) Close of Somerset, James (Nancy) Fisher of Jennerstown, Genevieve Hoffman of Garrett. Mrs. Cecil (Doris) Friese of Chambersburg, Harold (Dorothy) Fisher of Somerset, and Eldon Fisher of Connellsville; sister of Eleanor (Homer) Morris of St. Thomas, Pa. Also survived by 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Friedens. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 555 Tayman Ave., Somerset. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Heritage Baptist Church. Viewing one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Russell Kessler will officiate. Interment Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Champion.

Grace E. (Matthews) Fricker, of Munhall, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000. Retired teacher with the Munhall and Whitaker School Districts. Member of the Anne Ashley United Methodist Church. Wife of the late Fred J. Fricker. Mother of Carol Lee Brinkman and husband, Charles R., of Tennessee, Dr. F. Jay Fricker and wife, Lorry, of Florida, Janie Wacker and husband, Philip, of West Mifflin, and Robert F. Fricker and wife, Donna, of New York. Sister of Betty Broadright of Munhall, Ethel Slater of Latrobe, Francis Matthews of Philadelphia and the late Robert Matthews. Also 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. GRACE D. GERMAN
Grace D. German, 81, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at the Vincentian Home, McCandless. Born Feb. 13, 1918, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice Duffy. Mrs. German is survived by three sons, Richard H. German of Shaler, Robert D. German of Mt. Lebanon and William R. German of O'Hara; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. German. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Tuesday in the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Shaler. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church, Shaler. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
JOHN E. HUMENIK JR.
John E. Humenik Jr., 63, of Port Vue, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000. He was born March 13, 1936, a son of John E. Humenik Sr. of Port Vue and the late Mary A. Slanina Humenik. He was a retired machinist from U.S. Steel, Homestead Works. He was a member of St. Martin dePorres Parish, the Holy Trinity choir, and the St. Mary Czestohowa choir. He is survived by his wife, Donna J. Matthews Humenik; two sons, John E. Humenik III of Port Vue and James A. Humenik of Liberty Borough; a daughter, Connie E. Lucot of Port Vue; a sister, Pat Daly of Harrisburg, Pa.; and brothers Francis Humenik of Duquesne, Robert Humenik of Liberty Borough and Thomas Humenik of Irwin. Also surviving are five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JAYCOX-JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME, 2703 O'Neil Blvd., McKeesport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Worship Site with Father John Rushofsky as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue.
WALTER W. NUSSBAUMER
Walter W. Nussbaumer, 53, of Connellsville, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born Feb. 9, 1946, in Uniontown, a son of the late Walter R. and Violet Stimmel Nussbaumer. He was employed in the coal business as a heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Frank Nussbaumer. He is survived by his wife, Kay McKnight Nussbaumer; three children, James W. Nussbaumer and his wife, Aryn, of Taylorsville, N.C., Jill Nussbaumer of Salisbury, Md., and Jeff Nussbaumer of Taylorsville N.C.; three grandchildren, Lucas, Hunter and Cody Nussbaumer; and a sister, Nancy Martin and her husband, Joseph, of Perryopolis. MARTIN W. TURACK
Martin W. Turack, 82, of Hopewell Township, died Friday evening, Jan. 28, 2000, in the UPMC Beaver Valley. He was born Nov. 10, 1917, in Export, a son of the late Ludwig and Anna Spencik Turack. He was a retired cement mason from Local 526, Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of St. Vincent College, a captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Balmos Turack; his son, Robert Turack of Greensburg; his daughters, Sandra Newsome of Murrysville and Jean Helterbran of West Aliquippa; three stepsons, Robert Penberthy of Moon Township, Mark Penberthy of Moon Township, and Lloyd Penberthy of Hallstead, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Bernadette Jones of Aliquippa; an adopted daughter, Nancy Morzonski of Industry; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; a brother, Dan Turack of Export; and two sisters, Josephine Bozoukoff and Jennie Gillis, both of Delmont. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Tony Turack; and a sister, Mary Turack. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN ALIQUIPPA FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Lloyd Penberthy officiating. Interment will follow in Coraopolis Cemetery, where members of the Beaver County Special Unit will provide military honors.

Father of Kathryn (George) Steiner of Colorado Springs, Colo., Paul (Faye) Bixler and Harold (Clare) Bixler, both of Texas, and John (Lori) Bixler of Denver, Colo. Grandfather of Rebecca (Joshua) Peterson, Meredith Steiner, Drew, Jill, Anna, Rachel, Audrey, Lisa, Mollie, and Kelly. Brother of Robert Bixler of Vero Beach, Fla., David Bixler of Silver Spring, Md., and the late Alvan Bixler. Harry Russell McCaig Jr., 69, of Monroeville, formerly of Pitcairn, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000. Son of the late Harry Russell and Mildred E. (Fletcher) McCaig. Brother of Donald R. (wife, Linda) McCaig of McMurray and Maureen K. (husband, William) Murphy of Murrysville. Uncle of Michael (wife, Laurie) McCaig, Timothy (wife, Dorothy) McCaig, Kerry (husband, Dan) Plesco, Megan Murphy, Brian (wife, Ailish) Murphy, and Erin (husband, Michael) Rizzer. Great-uncle of Lauren McCaig and Riley Rizzer. Russell owned and operated Actors Workshop in Pittsburgh, where he taught acting and film-making. Prior to that, he worked for many years in New York with Garson Kanin and David Merrick and in California for Film Fair Industries making documentaries. Russell belonged to F&AM Valley Lodge 613, and was a Korean War Navy veteran. No visitation. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at noon at the WM. O. Mother of Alberta Rigutto Johe of Huntington, W.Va.; also survived by three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Sister of Josephine Mirabelli and Rose Rossi, both of Pittsburgh, and the late Carmela Russo and Janie Anania.
