Jeffrey Charles Bowker, 51, of Richland Township, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000. Brother of Constance B. (Bowker) Stapf and Joseph L. Bowker. Also surviving are two nieces and two nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 2:30 to 3 p.m. at Nativity Lutheran Church (Hampton Township), where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Arrangements are by the HERBERT R. KING JR. WILBUR E. DISNEY JR.
Wilbur E. Disney Jr., 86, of Mt. Lebanon, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Asbury Heights, Mt. Lebanon. He was born Oct. 26, 1913, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Wilbur and Edith (Menger) Disney. Mr. Disney graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. He had a long career in the field of entertainment, including various roles in radio, television and film production. He was a writer and producer of local plays and musical revues. He directed, produced and acted in several industrial programs. His greatest accomplishment was founding the Little Lake Theatre in 1949. Here he served as managing director. He also was an actor, director, sales manager, public relations director, and instructor at Little Lake Theatre, the Pittsburgh Playhouse, Pittsburgh Civic Playhouse, Mt. Lebanon Players, Beverly Hills Playhouse, Silver Fox Theatre and others. He was awarded a Pittsburgh Academy Award in 1985 and nominated three times for the Pennsylvania Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts. He is survived by Diana Disney; a son, David Disney and his wife, Mary, of Mt. Lebanon; a daughter, Sunny Disney Fitchett and her husband, Robert, of Mt. Lebanon; a grandson, Will Benjamin Fitchett; a sister, Doris Kramer of Mt. Lebanon; a nephew, James H. Kramer Jr. and his wife, Cynthia; and a grandnephew, James Wilbur Kramer. Friends will be received Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at BEINHAUERS, 2828 Washington Road, Peters Township, (724) 941-3211. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 799 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, with Dr. S. Allen Foster officiating. Interment will be private. HAROLD E. DONALDSON
Harold E. Donaldson, 88, formerly of this area, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, in Oshkosh, Wis. He was born in Penn, March 5, 1911, a son of the late William and Lillian Terrill Donaldson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Jamison Donaldson, in 1991; two brothers, Elmer and Bob; and three sisters, Edith Dombrow, Esther Palmer and Ruth Winnie. He was a sales representative for many years with the McKee and Jeannette Glass companies. He is survived by a daughter, Judith of Appleton, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Appleton.
JOHN A. KLINE
John A. Kline, 48, of Dunbar, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. He was born July 15, 1951, in Dunbar, the son of Kathryn Medved Kline and the late Jack A. Kline. He was a retired coal miner of Dillsworth Mining Co., Rices Landing, Pa. He was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church of Connellsville, and a former member of St. Aloysius R.C. Church, Dunbar. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Dunbar, and the American Legion Post 51, Uniontown. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Patricia "Patti" McConnell Kline; children, Bryan Kline, Mary Kathryn Kline, and Sarah Kline, all at home, Jeremy Kline and wife, Lindy, of Uniontown, and Chevella Britton and husband, Gary, of West Virginia; two grandchildren; a sister, Terry Janosek and husband, Ron, of Hopwood; and nieces, nephews and special friends. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jared Russell A. Kline; a sister, Kathy Gambone and husband, Sullivan. Friends were received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and will be received today from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Morning prayers in the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Aloysius R.C. Church with the Rev. Father J. Edward McCullough as celebrant. Rosary will be recited in the funeral home Sunday at 4 p.m. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Dunbar.
WILMA E. BAKER PLATZER
Wilma E. Baker Platzer, of Reserve Township, was called home to the Lord on Friday, Feb. 4, 2000. Mother of Joan Bucher of Connecticut, Nancy Stevens of New York and George Schrepfer. Sister of Amelia Baker. Also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Platzer was preceded in death by her husbands, George Schrepfer and Carl Platzer. Friends will be received Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at SPERLING INC., 408 Cedar Ave., North Side. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 10 a.m.
NABIL IBRAHIM RIZK
Nabil Ibrahim Rizk, 56, of Gibsonia, formerly of Oakland and Egypt, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at UPMC Montefiore, Oakland. He was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Cairo, Egypt, a son of the late Ibrahim and Sania (Elkalie) Rizk. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Marlene (Bugos) Rizk; a son, Nabil Michael Rizk of Richland Township; and a daughter, Amera Ann Rizk of San Francisco, Calif. Mr. Rizk is also survived by three sisters, Wedad Ibrahim Rizk, Amera Ibrahim Rizk and Sawsan A. Rizk, Ph.D., all of Cairo, Egypt; and two brothers, Dr. Wafa Ibrahim Rizk of Altoona and Ibrahim A. Rizk of Boca Raton, Fla. Mr. Rizk is also survived by 23 nieces and nephews. Friends received Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Memorial service is Tuesday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Rizk was a researcher at the University of Pittsburgh for 20 years, also owner and president of Opto-Electronics Co. He also holds three U.S. patents in medical devices.
ROLAND A. WAITE
Roland A. Waite, 84, of Price Street, Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township), died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at 6:35 a.m., in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. He was born May 16, 1915, in Monessen, a son of the late W. Barton and Ruth Eddy Waite. He had been a resident of Rostraver Township for the past 24 years, and had previously resided in Monessen. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, where he served as elder, deacon and member of the choir. Mr. Waite was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen Plant, where he had been employed as a crane operator. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Luce Waite, to whom he was married 63 years; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Dankosky of New Cumberland, Pa., and Judy and Dr. George Mayer of Venetia; a brother, Willis B. Waite of Lakewood, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Celeste Plunkett of Pittsburgh, Catherine Dankosky of Cranberry Township and Nicholas Dankosky of Shippensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Knighton Waite; and a sister, Frances McGrath. Visitation will be held Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Relatives and friends will gather at the First Presbyterian Church, Fayette Avenue, Belle Vernon, Monday at 11 a.m. for funeral services. The Rev. James C. Ramsey, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Elders and deacons of the First Presbyterian Church will meet at the funeral home Sunday at 12:30 p.m. to pay their respects. The family suggests contributions be made in memory of Roland A. JAMES EMERSON MARSH
James Emerson Marsh, 76, of Blairsville, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at the Oak Hill Nursing Center, Greensburg. He was born Jan. 11, 1924, in Burrell Township, Indiana County, the son of the late James and Ida (Lawson) Marsh. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. #406, where he was a former board member and steward; Acacia Lodge 355 F&AM and the Coudersport Consistory; and the VFW in Huntington, Pa. He was a former manager of the Blairsville Kiwanis Little League team. He was retired from the Asplundh Tree Expert Co., and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Laura. Survivors include: Ilene (Moritz) Marsh; a son, Richard Marsh and wife, Jamie, of Uniontown, Ohio; a daughter, Janice Frye and husband, Gene, of New Stanton; grandchildren, Eric Marsh of Niles, Ohio, Heather Marsh-Newhouser of Canton, Ohio, and Sarah Frye of New Stanton; and a niece, Trudy Lawson of Coral. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JAMES F. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, Blairsville, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ray Kerr officiating. THEODORE J. STEINER
Theodore J. Steiner, 83, of Shaler Township, Glenshaw, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in the Vincentian Home. He was born Jan. 31, 1917, in Aspinwall, the son of the late Joseph T. and Kathryn Steiner. He is survived by his wife, Anne Steiner; and a daughter, Nancy Steiner Thomas, both of Shaler Township. He was a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #5, and a lifetime member of the Etna Elks #932. Friends will be received at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Bonaventure Church, Glenshaw, with Father Mark A. HELENE BUSH
Helene Bush, of Mt. Lebanon, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at her home. She was born in Waterbury, Conn., a daughter of the late Andrew W. and Eva Skuba. She was a graduate of George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Bush was active in many civic organizations, including the Pittsburgh Symphony, The American Wind Symphony, and the Civic Light Opera. She was formerly president of the Mt. Lebanon Council of Republican Women, a member of the board of the Mt. Lebanon Public Library, president of the Friends of the Library, the Keynotes of Music for Mt. Lebanon, and a longtime member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church, Mt. Lebanon. In addition to her husband, Donald C. Bush, she is survived by a son, Donald C. Bush II, his wife Lori, and grandchildren, Leigh and Andrew of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Arlynne Vollmuth of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and a nephew, Penn Glazier of Lancaster. Friends may call at the LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL INC., 222 Washington Road, Mt.
