CHARLES LIPNISKIS
Charles "Chuck" Lipniskis, 84, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at his home. He was born April 24, 1915, in Hazelkirk, Pa., a son of the late Alexander and Dorothy (Davis) Lipniskis. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Lipniskis "Chuck" was employed as a coal miner with 43 years of service for Consolidation Coal Co. He was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie. Mr. Lipniskis "Chuck" is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Premich) Lipniskis; a son, Charles E. and his wife, Nancy Lipniskis, of Greensburg; two daughters, Joy Taylor of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Phyllis and her husband, John Grec, of Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Jack, Jay, and Jeff Taylor, Greg Lipniskis, and Chuck and Jason Grec; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bruno Lipniskis of Chesterton, Ind., Robert Yates of Harrisburg, and Eugene Yates of California; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Kardash; and two brothers, Ben and Andrew Lipniskis. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Edward R.C. Church, Herminie, with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas as celebrant. Interment will follow in the West Newton Cemetery. A St. Edward Parish Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A parish wake service will be held Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Ruby L. Loaskie, 69, of Saltsburg, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, in UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. She was born Nov. 17, 1930, in Avonmore, a daughter of the late James and Jessie Schultz Forney. She was a homemaker and lived in Saltsburg most of her life. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Saltsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell, Charles, Norman and James Forney; and a sister, Francis Yeager. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Charlie Loaskie Jr. of Saltsburg; two sons, Charles J. Loaskie of Saltsburg and Dennis J. Loaskie of Avonmore; a daughter, Karen K. Dietrick of Avonmore; three brothers, Clair Forney of Saltsburg, Leonard Forney of New York and Paul Forney of Saltsburg; three sisters, Florence Shelkey of Philadelphia, Rose Kenny of Melford and Garnet Truby of Saltsburg; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg, where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Lota Jones officiating.

Josephine Walsh McCague, on Monday, Feb. 7, 2000. Wife of Dr. Ned J. McCague. Mother of Dr. James Joseph McCague and Richard Jenkins McCague, both of Pittsburgh, and Anthony Kenny McCague of Wayne, Pa. Also survived by nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Dominic C. Russo, 33, of Pittsburgh, formerly of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000. He was born Aug. 5, 1966, in McKeesport, a son of Karen Russo Lagally of Greensburg and the late Richard Russo. He was employed as a mail handler by the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the McKeesport Sportsmen's Club and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Carmen Marie Russo of McKeesport; a brother, Marko Russo of Jeannette; two sisters, Darcy Abouzaki of Richmond, Va., and Carmen Angela Botti of Greensburg; his maternal grandmother, Sophia Bertoluzzi; a stepsister, Kristen Lagally of Normal, Ill.; a stepbrother, Karl Lagally of Philadelphia; his stepfather, Herman Lagally; and nieces and nephews. ALICE McALPIN CRYAN
Alice McAlpin Cryan, 73, of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Beaumaris, Canada, died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Alberta McAlpin of Greenwich, Conn., and the widow of Dr. Eugene W. Cryan. She attended Chatham Hall School in Virginia and graduated from Finch College in New York City, N.Y. Mrs. Cryan was an accomplished horsewoman and a tennis, squash and swimming enthusiast. For years she played on the Merion Cricket Club bridge team. She was a longtime docent of the Philadelphia Zoo. Mrs. Cryan was a member of the Merion Cricket Club, the Gulph Mills Golf Club, the Mill Dam Club and the Beaumaris Yacht Club. She is survived by her brother, Benjamin Brandreth McAlpin of Greenwich, Conn.; her three sons, Bruce, Kenneth and Richard; and six grandchildren. JOSEPH B. CUPPLES
Joseph B. Cupples, 76, of Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at his home. Born in Webster, Aug. 19, 1923, he was a son of the late Peter and Mary (Boyd) Cupples. Mr. Cupples was retired from the USX Irvin Works. He was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church in Rostraver Township. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a member of the Donora American Legion, Donora Eagles, 8th Armored Division Association, Disabled American Veterans Association and the Rostraver Township Historical Society. He is survived by his wife, June E. (Bell) Cupples; a daughter, Marlene Dupler of Rostraver Township; three grandchildren, Karen Bland, Jennifer Gonzalez, and David Dupler; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Peter and Robert Cupples; and a sister, Mary Janet Stewart. There will be no public visitation. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the New Hope Assembly of God, Elizabeth Township, with the Rev. Kevin Barner and the Rev. Ricky Nelson co-officiating. Interment will be held at the family's convenience. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Concord United Methodist Church. The JAMES C.
