Husband of the late Mary K. (Kresich) Tomasic; father of Nicholas A. Tomasic and wife Theresa of Plum, and Adrianne "Boots" Tomasic of North Braddock; grandfather of Nick G. Tomasic and wife Susan of Murrysville, and Jamie Tomasic Volpe and husband Chris of Connecticut; brother of the late Stephen and George Tomasic. Dr. Harry G. Austin Jr., 85, co-chairman of the board of James Austin Co., in Mars, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001. He was born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 24, 1916, son of the late Harry G. and Mazie (Teufel) Austin. Mr. Austin graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945. He was discharged as a major in the infantry and received a Bronze Star. He served as an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, and was former president of Smaller Manufacturer's Council in Pittsburgh and a member and former chairman of the board of trustees at La Roche College, where he received an honorary doctorate in business administration in 1988. In 1976, he was appointed to the U.S. Treasury Small Business Advisory Committee. In 1977, he was named Small Businessman of the Year in areas including Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C. and served on the Small Business Task Force on Venture and Equity Capital for Small Business. He also served the Small Business Administration Region Three, Pittsburgh Advisory Council, was a member of Pittsburgh Athletic Association and a member of Butler Country Club. Elected to the board of directors of Mars National Bank in 1969 and became director emeritus in 2000. Beloved husband for 44 years of Roseann (Yarchak) Austin. Dear father of Harry G. Austin III of Wexford and J. Douglas Austin of Richland; brother of Madeleine Samarco of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jack Austin of Adams Township and Dr. James Austin of Boston, Mass.; grandfather of Harry IV, Brian and Colleen Austin. Barone and the late Roberta Barone; sister of Rosemary Young, Evelyn Panzes and Warren "Lefty" Frazier; grandmother of Miranda Barone, Andrew Hogan and Angela Dickson; great-grandmother of Dominic and Shaun Eubanks. Thomas Boring, 48, of Saltsburg, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in the Beacon Manor Nursing Home, Indiana, Pa. He was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Amsterdam, N.Y., a son of the late David and Marian R. (Brennan) Boring. He lived and worked in San Francisco, Calif., for 12 years, but lived most of his life in Saltsburg. He had been employed by the Presidio Hospital in San Francisco as an X-ray technician for 12 years, then returned to Saltsburg where he managed a Glassmart Food Store for seven years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and William Boring; and a sister, Joan Bell. Survivors include a brother, Ronald Boring of Saltsburg; a sister, Linda Kier of Clayton, N.C.; and nieces and nephews. There is no visitation. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg, with the Rev. Daniel Satler officiating. Interment is private.

Josephine Madonna Fiorentino, 92, of Turtle Creek, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in the LGAR Nursing Center. She was born Dec. 22, 1908, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., a daughter of the late Thomas and Rosaria Monticello Madonna. She was a member of St. Colman's Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nicola Fiorentino; two sons, Nick and Tom Fiorentino; three sisters, Fannie Dinzeo, Daisy D'Alessandro and Sophie Martinelli; and two brothers, Leonard and James Madonna. She is survived by two daughters, Marion (Rege) Welsh and Roselle (Jim) Chrise; two sisters, Florence Caruso and Violet Kissel; a brother, Thomas Madonna; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the DAVID A. RITTER FUNERAL HOME, 220 Edgewood Ave., Trafford, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Colman's Church with the Rev. Vincent C. Fitzmaurice, 86, of Lower Burrell, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in the BelAir Nursing Home, Lower Burrell. He was born in New Salem on July 26, 1915, a son of the late Martin and Jane Ryan Fitzmaurice. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell. Prior to World War II, Vincent taught at German Township High School. During the war, he served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in England, Germany and France. Afterward, he taught at East Deer High School and was a math teacher at Valley High School for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Martin and Francis Fitzmaurice; a sister, Catherine Burns; and a grandchild. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Mary Faller Fitzmaurice; three sons, the Rev. V. Paul Fitzmaurice (of St. Barbara Church, Harrison City), J. Martin Fitzmaurice of Sarver and Mark J. Fitzmaurice, M.D., of Madisonville, Ky.; a daughter, Clare Vrenchak of Newton, N.J.; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell. A parting prayer will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell, with the Rev. V.
