Brian D. Rossmiller, 29, of Millvale, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001 at his home. He was a sheet metal worker. He was born in Pittsburgh, Dec. 11, 1971, son of James Rossmiller and Mary Rose Haupt Rossmiller. He is survived by his wife, Alyson Beth Gunion Rossmiller; his daughters, Shallyn E. Rossmiller, Dakota E. Rossmiller and Savannah R. Rossmiller, one sister, Terra Miller of Ross and a brother, James A. Rossmiller Jr.
Grandson of Elizabeth Haupt. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME INC., 7720 Perry Highway, Ross. Lawrence Wesley Rowe Sr., 87, on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born March 13, 1914, in Lincoln Borough. Mr. Rowe was retired from U.S. Steel in Clairton and a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater and in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the Community Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Elizabeth Township where he was past elder, board member, usher and president of the Alliance Men. His family suggests memorial contributions to his church, 234 Simpson Howell Road, Elizabeth Township, 15037. He was the son of the late Robert and Pearl Blakely Rowe and husband of the late Edith G. Trainer Rowe, who passed away in 1994. Father of Lawrence W. Rowe Jr. of Elizabeth, Gerald K. Rowe of Panama City Beach, Fla. and Edith G. Evans of Elrama; also survived by 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Minerva and brothers, Andrew and Elijah. Rose E. Schneider

Rose E. Schneider, 68, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in UPMC Passavant. She was born April 1, 1933, at Rosslyn Farms, Pa., daughter of Thomas Viviano and Violet Marusak. Mrs. Schneider worked as secretary-treasurer for H.J. Schneider Construction Inc. She was the first woman to be named "Cattleman of the Year" by the Pennsylvania Cattleman's Association in 1986. Mrs. Schneider was co-founder and co-owner of Rolling Ridge Farms and H. J. Schneider Construction, Inc. She was former president of the Cranberry Area Chamber of Commerce in 1994. In 1996, the Boy Scouts Moraine Trails Council presented her with their Distinguished Citizen Award in 1996 in recognition of her volunteer services. She had been a trustee of Slippery Rock University, director of of Butler County Endowment Fund, director of Butler County Drug and Alcohol Abuse Center, member of Butler County Government Center Building Advisory Committee, secretary and treasurer of Pennsylvania Simmental Association, former member of Finance Council of St. Ferdinand's Church in Cranberry and a member of Cranberry Arts Council. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the Connoquessing Country Club. At one time she bred some of the finest Simmental Cattle in the state and had recently worked to improve the breeding of miniature donkeys. The family home and business relocated to Cranberry from Green Tree in 1985. Last year she and her husband retired to their farm in north Butler County, their part-time home for 36 years. She was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church. Survived by her husband, Harold J. Schneider; three sons, Harry Schneider, David Schneider and Daniel Schneider; a daughter, Connie Gowder; three sisters, Jean M. Kane, Edith A. Neary and Mary Ann Kimball; a brother, Samuel T. Viviano; a grandson, Harold III; five granddaughters, Hilary, Jena, Dana, D'Ann and Emily Rose; also survived by nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother, Thomas J. Viviano. Friends received in the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME INC., 124 East North Street, Butler from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Paul's Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Monday. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Thomas P. Stypula, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in UPMC Passavant. He worked as a foreman for Shango, Inc. He was born in Tyre, Pa., Dec. 29, 1919, son of Paul Stypula and Caroline Lach Stypula. Mr. Stypula is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Settino; one daughter, Anne M. Wimer of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; one son, Thomas P. Stypula of Ohio Township; two sisters, Sally Roman of McKees Rocks and Amelia Cercone of Ross; also survived by a sister-in-law, Irene Settino; grandfather of Sarah Wimer and Kathryn Wimer. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Walker, Nellie Wiczewski, Helen Linder and four brothers, John Stypula, Frank Stypula, Stanley Stypula and Joseph Stypula. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME INC., 7720 Perry Highway, Ross. Mr. Stypula was in the Army Air Corp during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Elisabeth A. Knoll Tachau, 91, on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in Allegheny General Hospital. She was born Oct. 31, 1909, in Hamburg, Germany, daughter of Carl and Helena Oberhauser Knoll. Mrs. Tachau was a homemaker and member of the Presbyterian Church in Plattsburgh, N.Y. She is survived by a son, Hans Tachau and his wife Vicky of McCandless; three grandchildren, Elena Wilson of Atglen, Pa., Krista Tachau of West View and Eric Tachau of Ruckersville, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Keegan, Connor and Bailey Elisabeth Wilson, all of Atglen, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Hans Tachau, and her parents. No visitation. Memorial service and private interment
