Raymond H. Freese Sr., 72, of Robinson Township, died suddenly on May 25, at Mercy Hospital.
He was born Jan.11, 1928, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Lyman and Minerva Freese.
Mr. Freese was a 50 year member of Pittsburgh Plumbers Union, local #27. He spent 38 of those years with Wayne Crouse Inc., a mechanical contractor in McKees Rocks.
His children all agreed dad's other job was home improvement coordinator for family projects such as remodeling and adding on to their homes. It was also agreed upon that dad's leisure enjoyment was his family, especially his 18 grandchildren who range in age from 3 to 28.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a seaman first class, and was a member of Holy Trinity Knights of Columbus Council #11279.
Surviving are his wife Nancy (Donovan) Freese, and his children, Carol A. Chambers of Kennedy Township, Mary Ellen Freese of Robinson Township, Michael K. Freese of Robinson Township, Raymond H. Freese Jr. of North Fayette Township, Richard P. Freese of Robinson Township, Maureen P. Klein of Hookstown, Nancy K. Matarazzo of Kennedy Township and Lauraine M. McHugh of Babington.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Janet L. Heinz.
Friends and family were received at Joseph M. Somma Funeral Home in Robinson. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Trinity Church with the Rev. William J. Scholz officiating. Interment is at Resurrection Cemetery.

Stephen S. Halavanja, 62, of Moon Township, died May 14.
He was the beloved husband of Loretta Olenik Halavanja, father of Stephen M. Halavanja and his wife Judith, Kenneth A. Hall and his partner James Miller, and Kimberly Chmiel and her husband Alan; brother of Milan Halavanja, and grandfather of Bryan, Eric and Scott Halavanja.
Friends and family were received at Copeland's Funeral Home in Moon Township. A funeral service was held May 18, at Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge.

Marie Harris Hughes, 88, of Penn Hills, died May 30 at Mercy Hospital.
She was born Jan. 13, 1912, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of James and Edith Kitchen Harris. Mrs. Hughes was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Penn Hills, where she taught Sunday School for 67 years.
A retired sales associate with Kaufmann's, she was a past girl scout leader and PTA president at James E. Rogers School.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hughes, and her son Jimmy Hughes.
Surviving are her daughters, Edith Hughes of Monroeville, executive editor for Gateway Publications; and Alice Woods of McLean, Va.; a brother, Robert Harris of San Juan, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family were received at Burket-Truby Funeral Home in Oakmont. A funeral service was held at St. James Episcopal Church in Penn Hills, with the Rev. Jay Geisler officiating. Interment is in Allegheny County Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Hughes' name are suggested to Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, P.O. Box 779, Minneapolis, Minn., 55440-0779.

Harriett Wiser, 62, of McKees Rocks, died May 17 at Ohio Valley General Hospital.
She was born May 4, 1938, on Neville Island.
She had been employed as a hospital escort and was a member of Free Gospel Church.
She is survived by her son, William Thomas and his wife Tina of McKees Rocks, her sister Emma L. Davis of McKees Rocks; nephews William, Ronald, Gerald and Arthur Davis; and her grandchildren: Katie, Stephanie and Hannah.
Friends and family were received at the Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home in Stowe Township. A funeral service was held at Free Gospel Church, with the Rev. Thomas Peretic officiating. Interment is at Mt. Calvary.
James Bonham, age 80 of Coraopolis, died Sept. 15, 2000 of Alzheimer's Disease in the Atrium I, Robinson Township where he has been a resident for four years.
The owner of J.H. Bonham Agency, formerly located in Moon Township, Mr. Bonham was a successful independent agent for Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance.
His community-minded business served policy holders from the surrounding areas for 31 years.
His Beaver Grade Road agency was purchased in 1984 by Myer & Eckenrode Insurance agency, Carnegie.
Mr. Bonham was a long-time member of Montour Heights Country Club.
He attended Mercersburg Academy in 1939 after graduating from Coraopolis High School.
He went on to play football as part of the Class of 1944 at Penn State.
He was captain of the junior varsity team his freshman year and played varsity his sophomore year.
His college football career ended in 1942 when he enlisted in the armed forces.
He was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart, having been wounded in a battle in the Netherlands in 1943.
His commanding officer wrote of that battle- 35th Infantry Division of Germany, first lieutenant, 784 Tank Battalion:
"When the maintenance section of this unit was cut off from the main body of the tank column, Lt. Bonham promptly directed mortar fire on the enemy, then proceeded to fire a rocket launcher with good effect until he was seriously wounded by enemy fire.
His courageous initiative and disregard for personal safety reflects the credit upon his character as an officer."
His severe injuries led to two years of convalescing in three East Coast army hospitals.
He eventually returned to Coraopolis after retiring as a commissioned officer.
Even in his darkest hours, as he fought the Alzheimer's Disease, he was always considered a gentleman by family, friends and nursing staff.
His wife, Edna Bonham, also of Coraopolis, whom he married at St. Stephens Church, Sewickley, in 1950, preceded him in death.
He is survived by: his son, Benjamin Bonham; his daughter-in-law, Amy Bonham; and his grandchildren, Marian Rae and Lillian Rose Bonham.
He will be sorely missed and remembered fondly.
Services were held at Atrium I Chapel, Robinson Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 241 Fourth Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15222, or to the Alzheimer's Disease Alliance of Western Pa., Atrium I NSG Research Center, 5180 Campbells Run Road, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15205.
Arrangements were made by Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, 867 Fifth Ave., Coraopolis.

Robert Cain, 72, of Imperial died Sept. 26, 2000 in the Sewickley Valley Hospital.
He was born June 15, 1928 in New Castle, a son of the late Marlon and Eva White Cain.
Mr. Cain was a member of the Findlay High School Class of 1947.
He was a retired maintenance foreman for USS Chemical Division on Neville Island.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, and a member of the West Middlesex VFW Post 6233.
Mr. Cain was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at their camp in Clarion County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Cal and Freda Garrett, infant daughter Sissy Cain, brothers Francis and John Cain, and two sisters, Peg Crowe and Frances Watson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty Garrett Cain, who he married June 26, 1949. Also by a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbye and Richard Navickas of Imperial; his beloved grandson, Jake Garrett Navickas; and a sister, June Wyke of North Boro, Mass.
Friends were received at the Moody Funeral Home, where services were held Sept. 30, with the Rev. Ken Anderson officiating. Interment followed in Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the West Allegheny Aqua Club, Box 738, Imperial, Pa. 15126.

Nancy Ann Dunkle, 66, a native of Williamsport, Pa. and resident of Port St. Lucie, Fla., for the past 10 years, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000 at her home.
She worked as an administrative secretary for Joseph Keppel & Son in Moon Township for 20 years.
She was employed by Messer and Ray, Attorneys at Law, in Port St. Lucie, Fla. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Mrs. Dunkle is survived by her husband, Ralph Dunkle, Jr. of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two daughters, Susan Dunkle-Bernudez and husband Angel of Palm Beach Garden, Fla.; and Barbara Dunkel-Eberle and husband, David, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
A Memorial service was conducted Sept. 15 at Hope Lutheran Church of Port St. Lucie with the Rev. Jared Olson officiating.
Wallace & White Funeral Home in Stuart, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie E. (Tretow) Stokes, 65, a Moon Township resident most of her life, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 in Mariner Health Care Center of West Hills.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on April 30, 1935, a daughter of the late Albert and Katherine Tretow.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Fred Siebert and wife Kathleen of Imperial; Patricia Kamalich and husband Frank Kamalich of Moon; James Siebert of Moon; Amber Druschel and husband Bill of Denver, N.C.; one brother, Ernest Tretow of Steubenville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Erica, Jason, Stefanie, Caitlyn, Cory and Nicole; and many friends.
A memorial service was held at Copeland's Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. with the Rev. John Free officiating. Burial was private.

Raymond Beardsley Jr., 86, of Penn Hills died Jan. 4, 2000, in St. Margaret Hospital.
He was a retired Kaufmann's furniture refinisher and an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving is his wife, Mary (Fialla) Beardsley.
Arrangements were handled by Charles W. Trenz Funeral Home. Interment was at Good Shepherd Cemetery.

Ann S. Cicco, 87, of Oakmont died Jan. 6, 2000, at Presbyterian Senior Care.
Born in Coraopolis, the daughter of John Miller and Tresa Miller Snatzer, she was a homemaker.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Cicco Jr.
Surviving are her children, Michael Cicco III, Margaret Shannette, Michelle Creighton; brothers, John, Walter and William Miller; sister, Theresa Murphy; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Soxman Funeral Homes, Roth Chapel. Interment was at Plum Creek Cemetery.

Jane T. Cinefra, 77, of Penn Hills died Jan. 5, 2000, at St. Margaret Seneca Place.
Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of John and Anna (D'Amore) Migliozzi.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cinefra; and her brothers, Joseph and Dominic Migliozzi.
Surviving are her children, Sandra Nicassio, Frank Cinefra Jr. and Gary Cinefra; a brother, Jerry Migliozzi; a sister, Mary Fedel; and six grandchildren.
Friends were received at William F. Gross Funeral Home. Mass was at St. Joseph Church. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery.
