He was born in Yeagertown, Pa. September 5, 1913, a son of the late Paul H. and Katherine (McIlvine) Snyder.
He retired in 1978 after working 42 years for Codo Manufacturing Co. in Leetsdale. He was Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his beloved friend, Elizabeth "Lib" F. Wood; his close friend Norma J. Cassel of Lithopolis, Ohio, and her children: Craig, Connie, Laura, and Rachel.
He is also survived by his sister, Ella Mae Goetz of Canadohta Lake, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles J. Snyder.
Friends were received at Copeland's Coraopolis Funeral Home, where a service was also held with the Reverend Dr. Jeffrey Sterling officiating.
Burial was in the Coraopolis Cemetery.
Beverly J. Bailey, 75, of Sewickley, died at Forbes Hospice on Oct. 5, 2000.
She was born to the late James A. and Christine Murray Bailey Sr. on Nov. 7, 1925, in Sewickley.
Ms. Bailey retired after 43 years from Bell Atlantic, where she worked in the Pittsburgh and Sewickley offices.
She was a member of the Sewickley Baptist Church.
She is survived by one brother, James A. Bailey Jr. of Cranberry Township, one nephew, two nieces and 10 great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held at the Richard D. Cole Funeral Home, 328 Beaver St., Sewickley.
Interment followed at Sewickley Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested in her name to the Forbes Hospice, 6655 Frankstown Road, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Richard Frederick Boyd, 76, of Medina, Ohio, died Sept. 30, 2000, in his home.
He was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Sewickley to the late Dr. Charles W. Boyd and Minnie (Mohrhoff). He was a Medina County resident for 12 years.
He was a member of Granger United Methodist Church, enjoyed wood working and gardening, and was a 1949 graduate from Geneva College.
Mr. Boyd served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War.
He was a sales rep for General Foods for 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine M.(Miller); daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia L. and Lawrence Chlebina; daughter, Janice B. Shultz; and grandchildren, Kelly A. and Adam C. Wiggins, Jordan B., Jillian H. and Morgan L. Shultz, and Ben T. and Scott M. Chlebina, all of Medina.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Dr. William and James E. Boyd; and sisters, Emily Atkins and Mary McDonald.
A service was held at Granger United Methodist Church in Medina with the Rev. Clark F. Stein officiating.
Burial was in the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.

Julie Ann Cottom, 103, of Sewickley, died at Mariner Health Center in Moon Township on Oct. 3, 2000.
Cottom, the oldest of 14 children, was born on Dec. 13, 1897, to the late Harvey D. Cottom Sr. and Elizabeth Kirk.
At one time, Mrs. Cottom had worked for several families in Sewickley as a domestic and also as a cook.
She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Sewickley, where she was known as the "mother" of the church. She had also been quite active as a nurse at the church.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles William (Sonny) Cottom, in 1990.
She is survived by three sisters, Nellie Sims of Aliquippa, Maria Temple of Cleveland, and Alice Brown of Sewickley; and 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at the Antioch Baptist Church.
Interment followed at Sewickley Cemetery.

Harry M. Crow Jr., 78, of Sewickley, died on Oct. 8, 2000, at Allegheny General Hospital.
Friends will be received today (Wednesday) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Richard D. Cole Funeral Home, 328 Beaver St., Sewickley.
A funeral service will be held on tomorrow at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Frederick and Broad streets, Sewickley.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1922, in Pittsburgh to the late Harry M. Crow Sr. and Alline Reed Crow.
Mr. Crow had served as an administrator at Allegheny General Hospital and Allegheny Singer Research Institute.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Sewickley.
He also was an active member of the Sewickley Senior Men's Club and at one time served as the treasurer.
He was a member of the Beaver Lakes Country Club, the Penn Brotherhood F.&A.M. #635 in Penn Hills.
He was a veteran of WWII, an alumni of West Virginia University, and at one time served on the board of the Valley Ambulance Authority.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. Ziots Crow (Betty) and children John Proctor Crow of Guttenburg, N.J.; Robert Crow and his wife Betsy Waters of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Keith Crow and his wife Beth Berti of Virginia Beach, Va.; Virginia Crow Nagle and her husband Bruce Nagle of Moon Township; and Elizabeth Crow Soloman III and her husband Edward Soloman III of Shadyside.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Interment will be in Berkley Springs Cemetery, Berkley, W.Va., at 2 p.m. on Friday.

M.O. "Slim" Harvey, 92, formerly of Sewickley Hills, died Oct. 1, 2000, at Ruby Memorial West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, W. Va.
Born on April 22, 1908, in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Olan Love Harvey and Lillian Wolfe Harvey Cassidy.
He was a graduate of Rowlesburg High School in West Virginia and a veteran of WWII. He served throughout the South Pacific as a Navy Sea Bee.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Leetsdale in the early 1970s.
He was also a life-long member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
He is survived by two sons, James W. Harvey of Oakland, Md., and John R. Harvey and spouse Denise L. Harvey of Sewickley.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Leigh Anne Harvey of Baden, Pa., Tricia L. Matthews and spouse John "Buddy" Matthews of Rochester, Pa., and Evan J. Harvey, and one great-grandchild, Alyson L. Matthews.
Also surviving are his former wife and friend, Louise V. Harvey of Friendsville, Md.; one sister and spouse, Marjorie "Toots" and E.C. Herendeen of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by by one brother, Albrich "Todge" Harvey, and one sister, Hilda DeWitt.
The family suggests memorials to the American Lung Association.
In honor of his wishes, there will be no memorial service.
Elanor Murphy Shaffer, 94, formerly of Chippewa Township, died Sept. 19, 2000, in the Mariner Care Home in Moon Township.
She was born Jan. 27, 1906, in Beaver Falls to the late Edward J. and Mary Murphy.
She was a past member of the Chippewa Women's Club and a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church for the last 51 years.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Gerry Fisher of Sewickley; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Barbara Shaffer of Darlington, Pa.; three grandchildren - Lynn and husband Kirk Anderson of Cranberry, Pam and her husband Nick Kruschke of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Dave Fisher and his wife Kristin of Cranberry.
She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Berkley, Hanna, Troy and Cole; and a brother, Dr. Ken Murphy of Columbiana, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Shaffer in 1969, and two brothers, Edward and Raymond Murphy.
Campbell's Chippewa Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Delores Berkopec Wiltman, of Sewickley Heights Borough, died Sept. 30, 2000.
She was the mother of Barbara Rupert of Cambridge Springs, Pa., and James R. Wiltman of Sewickley; and sister of Mary Ann Rabick of McCandless Township.
Wiltman was grandmother of Carly Rupert, and Stephanie, Von and Fritz Wiltman; and a dear friend to Renee Tobias.
Interment was private.
Family suggests contributions to the Beaver County Humane Society, Route 18, Monaca, Pa. 15061.
