Gordon J. Monroe Sr., 77, of North Braddock died Nov. 21, 2002.
He was a retired fire truck driver in North Braddock and a life member and 44-year volunteer with North Braddock VFD No. 2.
During World War II, he was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne in the European Theater.
Mr. Monroe was a member of Wilkins Township VFW, Disabled American Veterans and AOH in Monroeville.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Murphy) Monroe; his children, Robert of North Braddock and James Monroe of North Versailles; sisters, Grace Clemente, Gladys Tongue and Peg Hamilton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home.
Interment with military honors was at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
Nigro
Eileen (Perry) Nigro, 85, of Monroeville died Nov. 29, 2002, at Beverly of Monroeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Nigro.
Surviving are her children, Renee McConnell of Pitcairn and Michele Maynard of Houston, Texas; brother, Tony Perry; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at Wm. O. Pearce Funeral Home.
Interment was at Cross Roads Cemetery.
McWhinney
Deborah A. McWhinney, 47, of Pitcairn died March 17, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William McWhinney.
Surviving are her father, Joseph Mayger of North Braddock; friend, John Hoyman; brother, Ronald Griser; sister, Cathy Stevenson; two children; six stepchildren; and 12 grandchildren.

Adams
Frank M. Adams, 84, of Monroeville died March 25, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret (Mears) Adams.
Surviving are his wife, Lois “Sam” Adams; his sons, Frank Arizona and Todd Adams; daughters, Bonnie Beal of Bellevue, Beth Flynn of Johnstown, Margaret Simpson of Florida and Becky Moore of North Hills; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Dixon
Robert L. “Pete” Dixon, 59, of Pitcairn died March 27, 2003, at Forbes Regional Hospital.
He was the son of Rose Dixon and the late Harold Dixon.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Clara (Dailey) Dixon; daughter, Hannah Dixon; and stepsons, Jack and Jason Fetter.

Mayer
Jewel Elizabeth Mayer, 80, of Monroeville died March 29, 2003.
Surviving are her husband, Louis Robert Mayer; daughter, Linda Margaret Matz of Cranberry; sister, Arie Panczyk; and a grandchild.

Nelson
Alice E. Nelson, 77, of Monroeville, formerly of Swissvale, died March 27, 2003.
Ms. Nelson retired in 1987 from Union Switch and Signal.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, David Nelson and Robert Nelson.
Surviving are her sister, Ruth Nelson; and nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at Wolfe Memorial Funeral Home. A service was held at South Avenue United Metho-dist Church in Wilkinsburg with the Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. Interment was at Homewood Cemetery.

Waddell
Col. Linda Sue (Stryker) Waddell, USAFR, 46, died March 27, 2003.
Formerly of the East Suburbs, she was the daughter of Jean Stryker and the late Richard Stryker.
Surviving are her husband, Russ Waddell; her children, Russ and Scott Waddell; brother, Richard Stryker Jr.; and sister, Betsy Miller.
A memorial service was held at Grace Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Va. Arrangements were handled by Advent Funeral Service, Falls Church, Va.

Figenbaum
The Rev. Ernest Figenbaum Jr., a resident of Plum for 25 years, died Nov. 18, 2002, in Leesburg, Fla.
The Rev. Figenbaum celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination in June 2002. He served parishes in Burlington, Mass., and Venetia, Monroeville, Murrysville and Brighton Heights.
He retired from Westinghouse Electric Co. in 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor; a son, E. Karl Figenbaum III of Exton; three daughters, Janet Hammill of Williamstown, Mass., Nancy Davies of New Brighton and Sandra Shedwick of Crafton; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial Eucharist will be held at 11 a.m. this Saturday, April 19, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Monroeville with the Rev. Les Martin conducting the service and Canon Richard Davies of the Diocese of Pittsburgh assisting.
His ashes will be placed in the Columbarium at St. Martin’s in Monroeville.
Moore
Edward M. Moore, 77, of Monroeville died April 5, 2003, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Born in Pittsburgh, he was a retired engineer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Moore.
Surviving are his children, Edward Jr., Stephen F., April, Dale and Kimberly Moore; his sisters, Mary Moore and Mable Ward; a brother, William G. Moore; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. this Friday, April 11, at Gene H. Corl Funeral Chapel in Monroeville. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday, April 12, at St. Bernadette Church. Interment will be private.
