Salvatore "Sam" Lupinacci, 87, a life-long resident of Sewickley, died Jan. 24, 2002, at Valley Care Masonic Home.
He was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Jim and Rose (Brancato) Lupinacci.
His wife, Stella (Brendle) Lupinacci, preceded him in death.
Mr. Lupinacci was a member of St. James Church and was retired from the Herbrick & Held Printing Co. since 1981.
He is survived by two daughters, Charmaine Verner and husband Jeff of Aleppo Township and Lisa Olsen and husband Martin of Catawissa, Pa.; and sister, Georgina Smith of Sewickley.
He also is survived by brothers, Vincent of Crescent, Romeo of Cranberry, James Lewis of Sewickley and Joseph of Titusville; and granddaughter Morgan Rose Olsen.
Burial was in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Shaler Township.

Riding
Nancy Campbell Riding, daughter of Lucille (King) and John Atwell Campbell, died Jan. 23, 2002, after a protracted battle with lung cancer.
She was born in Coraopolis on July 3, 1941, and attended the University of Connecticut, where she earned a degree in speech pathology in 1962.
She married George Matsik Jr. of Pittsburgh in 1964.
After a divorce in 1980, she moved to Arizona with the children. There she earned a master's degree summa cum laude in audiology from Arizona State University in 1982. She began more than a decade of work helping hearing-disabled schoolchildren.
In 1995, she suffered a heart attack and stroke and retired to Baja, Calif., with her longtime companion, Michael Thayer.
She leaves behind her beloved pets; her sister, Phame Campbell Heisner of Sacramento; her companion Michael; and children, Bradley Wright Matsik of San Francisco and Lucy Matsik Stribley of Arlington, Va.
Memorials can be made to the National Capital Area Hospice.

Behrer
M. Remsen Behrer, formerly of Sewickley, died Aug. 20, 2002, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, N.C., after an illness. He was 81 years old.
Dr. Behrer, born in Queens Village, N.Y., was the husband of Isbell "Bam" Ager Behrer of Fairview. They were married for 57 years.
He loved medicine and, as a pediatrician and cardiologist, devoted his 40-year career to caring for children.
He was on staff at St. Louis Children's Hospital and Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., from 1949 to 1969.
From 1969 until his retirement in 1985, he was chairman of pediatrics at Allegheny General Hospital and a physician at D.T. Watson Institute.
The Behrers moved to Fairview in 1985. They are members of Black Mountain Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, Dr. Behrer is survived by four children: M. Remsen Behrer Jr. of Black Mountain, N.C.; John Winfrid Behrer of Gray Summit, Mo.; Arnold Lamar Behrer of Pittsburgh; and Sarah Behrer Schmidt of St. Louis.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Tawnee Dufur; Schyler, Severin, Patrick, Christopher and Devon Behrer; and Liza, Henry and Peter Schmidt.

A memorial service was held at the Black Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Boggess
Phyllis A. (Goss) Boggess, 78, a Coraopolis resident since 1950, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at her home. She was born in Lewistown, Pa., on June 28, 1924, to the late Anthony and Claire (Aurnd) Goss.
Mrs. Boggess was a member of the Assembly of God, and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wilbur R. Boggess; her two children, Charles G. Boggess of Auburn, NY, and Claire A. Tarquinio and her husband David of Center.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Kenneth V., Ray, Helen Irene and Marvin Goss.
Funeral arrangements were coordinated by Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Avenue, where a service was held with Rev. Wayne Jackson officiating, prior to burial at Coraopolis Cemetery.
Brocco
John Brocco, 86, died on Oct. 22. He was born on Jan. 17, 1918, in Bird-In-Hand, Pa.
He was a retired machinist with Fisher Control, and a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Moon.
Husband of Katherine (Crivaro) Brocco. Father of Susan Haley, of Stowe. Grandfather of Kathy and William. Also, two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received in the Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home, 1316 Fourth Avenue, Coraopolis. A Mass of Christian Burial followed the funeral home service at St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery, Moon.
Casasanta
Lydia R. Casasanta, 86, of McKees Rocks, died Monday, Oct. 28.
She is survived by a husband, Frank Summers, of McKees Rocks; five children, Jerry and Marcia Orsini, of Hopewell, Sylvia and Thomas Shuty, of Moon, and Helen Orsini, of Kennedy; two brothers, Oliver and Roland Casasanta, both of Coraopolis; four sisters, Yolanda Roncone and Diane Brasie, both of Coraopolis, Larraine Peppers, of Michigan; Alma Bafile, of Florida, and Dora Casasanta, of Moon.
Friends were received at McDermott Funeral Home, 1225 Chartiers Ave., McKees Rocks. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John of God Parish in St. Mary Church.
DePace,
Charlotte “Chiv” A. (Hobin) DePace, 77, of Bell Acres, died Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Villa St. Joseph in Baden.
She is survived by two daughters, Gemma Jane DePace, of Clarksville, Tenn., and Nancie Kleinhans, of Moon Township; four sons, David S. DePace, of Bell Acres, Dennis A., Daniel C. and Richard D. DePace, all of Sewickley; six granddaughters, Lisa McGraw, Deborah Eirkson, Stefanie Jo Schulmeister, Ashley and Abbie DePace and Vitoria “Tori” DePace; six grandsons, Robert Jr. and Christopher Kleinhans, David S. DePace II, Jeffrey Schulmeister, Jonathan and Michael DePace.
DePace is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Alex and Michael McGraw, Benjamin and Emily Eirkson, Katie and Joseph Kleinhans and Jordan DePace; one sister, Florence Barber; and two brothers, James Shoop and Dale McCutcheon, all of Coraopolis.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Barber, and two brothers, Robert Shoop and Hank Hobin, both of Coraopolis.
Family and friends attended a memorial service Nov. 2 at St. James Catholic Church in Sewickley. Arrangements were handled by Copeland Funeral Home, Sewickley.
Mass was celebrated by Father Al Semler. Interment was private.
Karl
Dorothy N. Karl, 75, of Robinson Township, died Thursday, Oct. 17, at Ohio Valley Hospital.
She was born Aug. 10, 1927, in Mt. Oliver, a daughter of the late Albert and Esther Nolte.
Mrs. Karl was a longtime member of Kenmawr United Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the Rebecca Circle women’s group. She also volunteered with a local Meals on Wheels program.
She had been active with her daughter Gail’s Girl Scout troop. She belonged to a craft group at Robin Hill where she enjoyed needlepoint, sewing and other crafts. She also enjoyed time at home cooking.
Mrs. Karl is survived by a husband, John G, Karl of Robinson; a son, Ken, of North Fayette; a daughter, Gail, of Washington, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Jessica Karl and Russell Nekos.
Friends were received at Joseph Somma Funeral Home and services were held at Kenmawr United Presbyterian Church.
Kerin
Audrey B. Kerin, 68, of Findlay Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, at home.
She was born Dec. 20, 1933, in Crafton, a daughter of the late Joseph G. and Margaret E. Christ.
Kerin was a homemaker that enjoyed volunteering in the community. She was a former member of the Moon Run and Fair Hopes Volunteer fire departments’ ladies auxiliaries. She was also a member of the Emblem Club of the Fair Hope Elks Lodge.
She also enjoyed dancing, rollerskating, playing cards and singing.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Ann Franc, of Robinson, Mary Guzak, of Monaca, and Colleen Kerin, of Coraopolis; three sons, Daniel, of Vero Beach, Fla., Michael, of Fairhope, Ala., and William, of Oakdale; two sisters, Nina Blystone, of Findlay Twp. and Josephine Scott, of Fairhope, Ala.; and one brother, Charles Christ, of Pocatello, Ida.
Friends were received at Joseph Somma Funeral Home, Robinson Township, and interment
was at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Mihalyi
Leslie Mihalyi, 82, of Allison Park, and formerly of Coraopolis, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, at UPMC Passavant.
He was born in Coraopolis on Nov. 1, 1919 to the late Paul and Maria (Shziligyi) Mihalyi.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was recipient of European African Middle Eastern service medal with five bronze stars. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post in Madeira Beach, Fla.
Mr. Mihalyi is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen; her husband, James Thompson of Moon Township; and one sister, Rose Toth, of Sarasota, Fla.
