John Keppel, 95, of Coraopolis, died Saturday, Nov. 15, at Mariner HCC of the West Hills.
Mr. Keppel was born Oct. 18, 1908 in West Copley to the late John and Mary (Yost) Keppel. He was a retired molder with the E.W. Bliss Corp. in the South Side of Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, his son, John E. Keppel, and one brother, Edward Keppel.
Survivors include: two daughters, Eleanor Clark of Cranberry Township and Joanne Chenot of Ingram; two brothers, Joseph Keppel of Florida and Walter Keppel of Moon Township; one sister, Hilda Todora of Florida; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Copeland’s of Coraopolis.
Burial was at Coraopolis Cemetery.
Meinert
Grace (Hyde) Meinert, 87, a Neville Island resident most of her life, died Monday, Nov. 24, at her residence.
Mrs. Meinert was born Oct. 17, 1916 in Pittsburgh to the late Joseph S. and Margaret (Koerner) Hyde. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, two sisters, Margaret Gibb and Katherine Talarico, and two brothers, Joseph and Richard Hyde.
Mrs. Meinert retired in 1986 from Talarico Motors (located both in Moon Township and Coraopolis), where she had been a bookkeeper. She will most fondly be remembered for her love of animals and gardening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1101 Western Ave., Pittsburgh, 15212.

Naleppa
William J. Naleppa, 75, of Robinson Township, died Thursday, Nov. 13, at his residence.
Mr. Naleppa was born Jan. 7, 1928 in Carnegie to the late Albert and Anne Naleppa. Since April of 1961, he was the owner and manager of his Auto Body Shop and Towing Company on Campbell’s Run Road in Robinson Township. He retired in 1988 and turned over operations to his son, Jim.
Mr. Naleppa will be remembered by family and friends for being a workaholic who still found time to enjoy such things as fishing, small game hunting and tending to his vegetable garden. They will also remember how he adored his grandchildren, for whom he served as chauffeur for wherever they wished to go.
Mr. Naleppa served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 2nd Class during World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Nancy; two sons, James F. (Nancy) Naleppa of Robinson Township and William W. Naleppa, Jr. of Butler; one daughter, Patricia A. Naleppa of Robinson Township; and two grandchildren.

Pagano
Carmella Lacopo Pagano, 87, of Coraopolis, died Sunday, Nov. 23.
Mrs. Pagano was born Sept. 14, 1916 in Italy. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and its Christian Mothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Pagano.
Survivors include: her husband, Antonio Lacopo; two sons, Anthony (Darlene) Pagano of Chicago and Michael (Linda) Pagano of Florida; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Anthony J. Sanvito, Inc., Funeral Home in Coraopolis.
Shoop
James William Shoop, Sr., 90, a Coraopolis resident most of his life, died Sunday, Nov. 30, at his residence.
Mr. Shoop was born Oct. 12, 1913 in Coraopolis to the late Florence (Rhodes) and James William Shoop. He was retired from the J & L Steel Corp., Aliquippa Works, was a veteran of the National Guard and a former member of the Coraopolis Volunteer Firemen.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Shoop was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: his wife, Cecilia Rose; two sons, James William Shoop, Jr. of Hopewell and Frank “Butch” Maienfisch Shoop of Coraopolis; four daughters, Catherine “Sis” Roithner of Emleton, Sally Shoop, Bobbie Shoop Bell and Karen Shoop Moore, all of Coraopolis; one brother, Dale McCutcheon of Coraopolis; one sister, Hannah Mae Baucant of Coraopolis; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church.

Lidington
Grace E. Lidington, 87, of Zelienople, and formerly of Cranberry Township, died Jan. 5 at Passavant Health Center, where she has lived since 1996.
Born in Lowellville, Ohio, on May 2, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Lowry and Maude Wimer.
A homemaker, Mrs. Lidington was a member of Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry and was a member of the Cranberry Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Lidington, who died April 2, 1976, and a son, Raymond Lidington.
Surviving are two close friends, Mary Scherich and Jane Elston, both of Cranberry Township.
Services and interment
in Shenango Valley Cemetery were private.
Marilyn E. “Pooch” McCandless
Mars
Marilyn E. “Pooch” McCandless, 73, of Mars, died Jan. 8, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in the Town of McCandless.
Born in Mars on May 9, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Grace Mays Davidson. She was a retired sales clerk for Penney Hardware in Mars.
She was a member of Old Union Presbyterian Church, the Mars Chapter 271, Order of the Eastern Star, the Mars AARP and the Mars V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Gerald D. “Pete” McCandless; a son, Paul D. McCandless of Shaler Twp.; two daughters, Paula Condon and Robin Kennedy, both of Mars; six children, Ryan and Jason McCandless, Heather and Krista Condon and Matthew and Melissa Kennedy; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Davidson, of Zelienople; and a good friend, Pearl McWilliams of Mars.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul L. Davidson.
Friends were received at a memorial service in Old Union Presbyterian Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Church, Quality E.M.S., Brickyard Road, Mars, PA 16046.
Carbiener
Audrey (Carroll) Carbiener, 75, a Moon Township resident for 40 years, died Friday, Jan. 9, at Mariner Health Care Center of West Hills.
Ms. Carbiener was born Jan. 23, 1928 to the late Frank E. and Marie V. (Cunningham) Carroll. She was employed for 20 years by the Aviation Department of Allegheny County, retiring in 1963.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank E. Carroll, Jr. and Robert E. Carroll.
Survivors include: one brother, Walter J. Carroll of Moon Township; one sister, Shirley Hanson of Tucson, Ariz.; and nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were handled by Copeland’s of Moon Township.
Burial was at Smithfield East End Cemetery.
Dickson
Dennis R. Dickson, 50, an Oakdale resident since September and formerly of Crescent, died Thursday, Jan. 15, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Dickson was born June 19, 1953 in Pittsburgh to Paul and Lula (Dysert) Dickson of Moon Township. He was a member of the Plumbers/Steamfitters Local No. 47 from 1973-1989. He was the former owner of Essex Beer Distributor in Imperial. He was a 1971graduate of Moon High School and had attended St. Catherine’s of Siena in Wireton.
Mr. Dickson was preceded in death by his wife, Karen.
Survivors include: one son, Eric Dickson of Crescent; one daughter, Leah Dickson of Crescent; three brothers, Paul Dickson of Moon Township, Larry Dickson of Kennedy Township and David Dickson of Sewickley; three sisters, Lois Dydek of Moon Township, Deborah Barone of Kennedy Township and Terri Dickson of Brighton Township; and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were handled by Copeland’s of Moon Township.
Burial was at St. James Cemetery.
Kenneth
Sister Mary Kenneth, Mary Gertrude Schall, 60, a Felician Sister of the Coraopolis Province, died Thursday, Jan. 1, at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh following a valiant struggle against multiple illnesses.
Sister Kenneth was in the 43rd year of religious life.
Sister Mary Kenneth was born in Hastings, the daughter of the late John J. and Mary g. Schall. A member of St. Bernard Parish, she attend the parish elementary school. She was a 1961 graduate of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School in Coraopolis, from which she entered the Felician Sisters. Sister Kenneth received the habit of the order in 1962 and made her first profession of vows in 1963. She professed final vows in 1969.
Early in her religious life, Sister Kenneth began her lifelong work in the ministry of health care. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Madonna University, Livonia, Mich., in 1969, and a master’s degree in nursing from Duquesne in 1990. She also completed the requirements for certification as a nursing home administrator at the same time. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing.
Sister served a total of eight years at the Felician Sisters’ St. Joseph Hospital in Port Charlotte, Fla., and at various other hospitals throughout the country. She also served as a nurse and later as director of nursing at St. Joseph Hall Infirmary at the provincial house. After earning her master’s degree, she was employed for more than five years, first as an assistant administrator and then as an administrator, by the St. Francis Health System in Pittsburgh. Failing health forced her to resign as administrator of St. Francis Medical Center North in July of 1996.
Despite a series of debilitating illnesses, she assumed the role of medical insurance facilitator for the sisters of the Coraopolis province in 1997, a role she filled conscientiously until her death.
In addition to her parents, Sister Kenneth was preceded in death by her brother, John.
Survivors include: one brother, Regis of Cassandra; four sisters, Grace Fredo of Hastings, Delores Bolette of Pittsburgh, Loretta Bernard of Blasdell, N.Y. and Donna Fredo of Emsworth; and their spouses, nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Felician Sisters Renovation Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Burial was at Felician Cemetery in Moon Township.
