Helen Q. Fusca, age 86, of West Lake, Ohio formerly of Bakerstown died on Monday, June 3, 2002.
Born on January 30, 1915 in Bakerstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Alma (Schott) Poff.
Dear mother of Debra and her husband Bob Lyons of West Lake, Ohio. Also four grandchildren, John & Kenneth Fusca both of CA., and Melissa & Bethany Lyons both of Ohio. Also 1 great-grandson James Fusca of CA.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Fusca in 1980, two children, Dick and Joyce Fusca and two sisters, Elsie Fritz and Eula Poff.
Friends will be received Wednesday, June 5, 2002 from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, a "Pursuit of Excellence" award firm. Rev. Dr. David McDonald of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown will officiate. Interment will be private in Bakerstown Cemetery.

Stella E. Leindecker, age 78 of West View, on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 in Windsor Place. She was born in Pittsburgh on June 4, 1924, the daughter of the late Carl and Clara (Kuehn) Finkbeiner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Leindecker was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward J. Leindecker, Jr.; two sisters, Anna and Dorothy and one brother, Otto.
Mrs. Leindecker is survived by one brother, Carl Finkbeiner, Jr. of Brookline. Also, many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Leindecker worked at William G. Johnston Printing Company for over 40 years as a Binderer. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church as well as a member of Binding Local Union #24.
Elvera M. Spindler, age 96 of Ross Township, on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 in Suburban General Hospital in Bellevue. She was born in Pittsburgh on June 1, 1906, the daughter of the late Albert and Mathilda (Suck) Hildenbrand. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Spindler was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice.
Mrs. Spindler is survived by two daughters, Lois Manipole of Guys Mills, PA and Myrna Hanna of Cranberry Township. Also, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Elvera was a homemaker most of her life.

John F. "Jack" Betz, of Perryopolis, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at 1 p.m., in Jefferson Hospital. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, a son of the late John F. and Madaline McCoy Betz. Jack was the original owner and operator of Jack's Shop & Save of Perryopolis for 23 years, and owner of Eagle's Landing Restaurant at Rostraver Airport, Belle Vernon. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #4427, VFW Gold Star Post #7023, Heritage Society, and past president of the St. John's Holy Name Society, all of Perryopolis. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy. Jack was also a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Rostraver Squadron Civil Air Patrol, a board member of the Experimental Aircraft Association of Rostraver, Piper Cub Association of Lock Haven, Pa., Stearman Restoration Association of Illinois, War Birds of America, and past chairman of Pennsylvania Food Pac Association. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Stolick Betz; a brother, Daniel Betz and wife, Kay, of Treasure Island, Fla.; partner and best friend, Luke Globosky of Perryopolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie M. Betz, on Aug. 29, 1996. Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 E. Denver Grant Cochran, 75, of Allegheny Township, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, in Saxony Health Center, Saxonburg. Born Feb. 13, 1924, in Ford City, he was a son of the late Owen and Pauline Kerr Cochran. He lived in Allegheny Township most of his life. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he had been employed as an inspector by Allegheny Ludlum, West Leechburg, where he worked for 32 years. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Vandergrift, the Apollo Elks and the Elks Golf League. He enjoyed gardening and mowing his lawn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Joan Cochran, in 1995; a brother, Blaine Cochran; and a sister, Alda Drew. Surviving are a son, Ronald G. Cochran of West Leechburg; two daughters, Colleen G. Parks and Kelly Jo Hepler, both of Washington Township; a brother, John Cochran of Kittanning; a sister, Genieve Beers of Murrysville; and five grandchildren, Megan Parks, Corrin Cochran, Stephanie Cochran, Jesse Hepler and Amy Beth Hepler. Grace N. Dunmire Endress, 82, of Avonmore, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, in the William Penn Care Center, Jeannette. She was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Avonmore, a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Olive Hughes Dunmire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Kenneth E. Rumbaugh in 1947, and Joseph Carl Endress Sr. in 1990; three brothers, Jim, Carl and Oshie Dunmire; and four sisters, Olive Ida Dunmire, Edna Bollinger, Ruth Campbell and Mary Welsh. She is survived by seven sons, David J. Joseph W. "Moe" Gazda Sr., 64, of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at his residence. He was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Joseph and Rose Fiedor Gazda. He was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, where he served as an usher, and was a member of the former Holy Name Society and former bowling league. Moe was a member of the Kosciuszko Club, Mt. Pleasant Firemen's Club and Polish Falcon Club. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the L.E. Smith Glass Company. He attended the former Hurst High School. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lucille Borek Gazda; a son, Joseph W. Gazda Jr. and wife, Marcy, of Ruffsdale; a daughter, Christina Gazda at home; two grandsons, Kyle and Dale Gazda; a brother, Frank Gazda and wife, Mary Ann, of Lordstown, Ohio; and two sisters, Rose Marie Radzilowski and husband, Clement, of White Oak and Theresa Matsey and husband, Victor, of Mt. Donna K. Hitchins Hall, 55, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, in the UPMC Montefiore, Oakland. She was born March 15, 1944, in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of Eva A. Kuhns Hitchins of North Huntingdon and the late Owen A. Hitchins. She was an employee of Local #23 Benefits Office, Pittsburgh. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gary O. Hitchins. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Dawn R. Lorince of Roanoke, Va.; two sons, James A. Hall of Irwin and Christopher L. Hall of North Huntingdon; two granddaughters, Alexandra G. Hall and Rachael C. Lorince; a sister, June Merlino of Barboursville, W.Va.; a brother, Owen James Hitchins of Sutersville; and nieces and nephews. Vernice Hess, 82, of Melcroft, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, in the Integrated Health Services of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. She was born Feb. 23, 1917, in Normalville, a daughter of the late Irvin S. and Mary E. Meyers White. She was a member of the Indian Head Church of God and was a charter member of the Chestnut Ridge Historical Society. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert V. Hess, on Dec. 28, 1992; and a sister, Viola Kalp. She is survived by a daughter, Lucinda Barnhart and her husband, Dale, of Eastlake, Ohio. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
