Surviving are her children, William McWilliams of Dover, N.H., and Marilyn Coleman of Edgewood; brothers, Martin and William Plack; sister, Patricia Henshall; two grandchildren; and special friend, Edmun Kittiko.

Merkel
Paul H. Merkel Jr., 79, of Turtle Creek died May 29, 2003.
Mr. Merkel was a retired employee with 47 years of service.
He also was a part-time police officer with North Braddock.
An Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European, Pacific and African theaters, he was a member of North Braddock Amvets and East Pittsburgh VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Hughes) Merkel.
Surviving are his children, Thomas Merkel of North Braddock, Kathleen Bauer of Turtle Creek and Paul H. Merkel III of Freedom; brother, James Merkel; and five grandchildren.

Interment was at Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
Morrison
Althea “Butch” Morrison, 62, of Chalfant, formerly of Castle Shannon, died May 27, 2003.
Surviving are her companion, William Fisher of Chalfant; children, Deborah, Sean and Michelle Morrison; four sisters’ five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Pisor
Sherman James Pisor, 69, of Forest Hills died May 29, 2003.
He was a technician for Peoples Natural Gas in Wilkinsburg for more than 35 years.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Madden) Pisor; daughter, Diana Mize of Highland Village, Texas; and a grandchild.

Siroky
Harriet Siroky, 94, of Monroeville and Turtle Creek, formerly of Chicago, died June 1, 2003.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Siroky.
Surviving are her children, Sandra Lester of Monroeville, John Siroky of Columbus, Ohio, Joseph Siroky of Leesburg, Fla., and Angie Kutin of Chicago; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Gene Van Horn Monroeville Funeral Home.
Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. this Thursday, June 5, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
Gaskill
William B. Gaskill, 53, of Braddock died June 11, 2003.
He was the son of Sophia Gaskill and the late William Gaskill.
Mr. Gaskill was an employee of LGAR Nursing Home in Turtle Creek.
He was a graduate of the former St. Thomas High School in Braddock.
Mr. Gaskill served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam era.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Stanley and Edmund Gaskill; and sisters, Rose Ann and Mary Ann Gaskill.

Interment with military honors was at Braddock Catholic Cemetery.

James
Joseph H. James, 68, of Monroeville died June 4, 2003, at West Penn Hospital.
Born in North Braddock, he was the son of Raymond and Marie (Weinzierl) James.
Mr. James was a retired machinist at Westinghouse Electric.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Carol (Williams) James; children, Lou Ann Lutz, Linda Buhovecky, Nancy Colella, Sharon Funyak, Eileen Wright and Joseph and Paul James; sister, Ida Jantz; brother, Raymond James; and 12 grandchildren.

Interment was at Murrys-ville Cemetery.
Soles
Harry Daniel “Bud” Soles, 73, of Turtle Creek died June 12, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel (Megahan) Soles.
Surviving are his wife, Victoria Soles; children, Pam Hirko, Tracy Sano and Harry, Jeff, Greg, Randy, Denny, Tim and Ronney Soles; brother, Walt Soles; sister, Ruby Kollar; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pecora
Armand L. “Bud” Pecora, 84, of Turtle Creek died June 14, 2003.
He was an assembler for more than 42 years with Westinghouse Airbrake.
Mr. Pecora was a sergeant in the Army during World War II.
He was a lifetime member of St. Colman Church in Turtle Creek.
He was a regular volunteer at the church’s Lawn Fete and served as an usher for more than 20 years.
Mr. Pecora was a member of Monroeville Senior Citizens and formerly belonged to Monroeville AARP 2582.
Surviving are his wife, Adele “Tillie” (DeNillo) Pecora; children, Armand Paul Pecora of Delmont and Diane Etherington of Turtle Creek; sisters, Florence Farbarik and Stella Sulley; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Interment with military honors will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
Pelino
G. Richard Pelino, 62, of Swissvale died June 8, 2003.
He was the son of Gilbert Pelino and the late Genevieve Pelino.
Besides his father, he is survived by his companion, Beth Hardie; stepmother, Nancy Pelino; brother, Kevin Pelino; sisters, Marilyn Pelino, Mary Lou Zink, Patti Wilson, Nancy McKenna, Julie Brennan, Karen Beebe and Connie Howe; and 11 nieces and nephews.

A service was held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church with the Rev. Diane Shepard officiating.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery.
