John A. DeRosa, 71 of Moon Township, formerly of Sewickley, died Sept. 16, 2002, at his residence.
Mr. DeRosa was born on Feb. 17, 1931, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to the late Anthony and Rose (Astorino) DeRosa.
He was a meat cutter for the A&P in Sewickley for 28 years, the Shop & Save in Hopewell Township for 11 years, and still worked there until July part-time.
He was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Sewickley and a former member of the American Legion of Sewickley.
Mr. DeRosa served during the Korean Conflict as an Airman Second Class and received The National Defense Service Medal and A Good Conduct Medal.
He is the loving father of John P. DeRosa and his wife Kathleen of Imperial; and Anthony D. DeRosa and his wife Julie of Washington; beloved brother of Vincenette Baumann of Del Ray Beach, Fla., and Joseph DeRosa of McCandless Township; and proud grandfather of Nicholas, Dominic and Gabriel.
Friends were received at Copeland's Sewickley/Irvine Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. James Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Al Semler officiating.
Burial was in St. James Cemetery.
Ducker
Marguerite M. Ducker, 95, of DeLand, Fla., who retired as executive director of Sewickley Valley Hospital died Sept. 19, 2002, at Woodland Terrace Nursing Center in DeLand.
Born in Joliet, Ill., Miss Ducker was a graduate of the University of Chicago and receiver her master's degree in hospital administration at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill.
She also received the Mary H. McGaw Award in hospital administration, and in 1945 was awarded a Goldwater Fellowship in hospital administration at Mount Sinai Hospital, NYC. She served as assistant director of the program in hospital administration at Northwestern University until she became associated with Sewickley Valley Hospital in 1952.
In 1962, she became a Fellow of the American College of Hospital Administrators.
During her retirement, Miss Ducker served on the boards of the following organizations: League of Women Voters, Daytona; The Neighborhood Center, DeLand; The American Association of University Women and the Woman's Club of DeLand.
She was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, DeLand.
She is survived by her niece, Rose Marie Wilson of El Segundo, Calif.; and her grand niece, Ann Sarah DuFresne of Cleveland.
Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand was in charge of the arrangements.
Nard
John Albert Nard Sr., 73, of Sewickley since 1968, died on Sept. 17, 2002, at Sewickley Valley Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 1, 1928, in Norton, Va., to the late Joseph and Theresa (Lafara) Nard.
Mr. Nard was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Sewickley.
He went to The Virginia Military Institute and graduated from The University of Pittsburgh.
He was self-employed as a consultant for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen (O'Brien) Nard.
He was the loving father of Kathleen Keogh and her husband Thomas of Grafton, Va.; John A. Nard Jr. of Sewickley; Suzanne Swegal and her husband Gary of Sewickley; Jennifer Nugent and her husband Terrance of Bethesda, Md.; and Chris Nard and his wife Karen of Winston Salem, N.C.
He was the beloved brother of Caroline (Nard) McCully of Tennessee, Rita Nard of Virginia and James Nard of Florida.
He also is survived by 11 grandchildren.
A service was held at St. James. Burial was at Sewickley Cemetery.

Zerby
Marion Zerby, 73, of Wichita, Kan., a manufacturing engineer for almost 24 years with Boeing Aircraft, died Sept. 18, 2002, in Kansas.
The son of the late Henry Allen and Ruth (Larson) Zerby, he was born on March 6, 1929, in Petrolia, Kan.
Two brothers, Henry Allen Zerby and Morton Lee Zerby, preceded him in death.
He is survived by son, Kent Zerby, of Tucson, Ariz; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dennis Malsom of Goodland, Kan.; brothers, John Zerby of Sewickley and William Zerby of Overland Park, Mo.; and sister, Mary Lee Zerby of Kansas City, Mo.
He is also survived by three grandchildren Cassandra Britt, Crystal and Candace Amack, all of Kansas; and great-grandchild, Tyler Britt of Kansas.

Charlot
Patricia A. Charlot, 65, of Sewickley, died of complications of cancer on Oct. 25, 2002, at home.
She worked as a manager of Sewickley Heights Country Club and the Concordia Club in Oakland, Pa.
She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and its parish council. She had attended grade school there.
She attended Bible study and volunteered her time for church dinners and other events.
She attended Moon High School and worked in her parents' restaurant. Her parents, Anthony and Inez Pass Rowe, opened Tony's Restaurant in 1953. It was there she learned every aspect of the food service industry.
She also helped her sister and brother-in-law with their restaurant, LaCasa Domia, (a new name for the old Tony's) by planning the decor and the kitchen and creating the menu.
She married James Charlot of Huntington Park, Calif., whom she met when her family lived there.
She is survived by her husband, James "Bud" Charlot; sons, Christian and Craig Zernich of Sewickley; three grandchildren; and her sisters, Doris J. Yates and Nancy L. Scafoglio, both of Scottsdale, Ariz.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at St. James Catholic Church, Sewickley.

Clancy
Parkman H. Clancy, 81, a Sewickley Heights' resident since 1950, died on Oct. 22, 2002.
He was the beloved husband of Susan (Bryson) Clancy and the late Emily (Arnold) Clancy.
He was the loving father of Emily Clancy; Helen Morrison and her husband Tom; Peter Clancy and his wife Agnes; Margot Thompson and her husband Edward; Trip Levis; Erin Clancy and her husband Alvaro Coraspe.
Mr. Clancy was the brother of Georgia Theys, the late Helen Bowen and Irvin Clancy, and the proud grandfather of Emily & Sean Morrison, Camille, David and Lauren Clancy, Charlie, Blair and Preston Thompson, John & Archie Levis, and Paula Coraspe.
A memorial service was held at the Allegheny Country Club.

Eckstrom
Roy Mann Eckstrom, 71, of Sewickley, died Oct. 24, 2002, at his home unexpectedly.
He was born on July 26, 1931, in Edgeworth. His parents were the late Lloyd and Lucille Moore Eckstrom. His wife, Marianne Gordon Eckstrom, preceded him in death.
He graduated from Leetsdale High School and attended Westminster College where he was an All-American Football Player.
He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his daughter, Jane Valenty of Gibsonia, Pa.; his brother, Lloyd Eckstrom Jr., of Hermitage, Pa.; and a granddaughter, Melissa Jane Valenty.

Ford
Ronald Ford, 25, died suddenly on Oct. 22, 2002, in Tarpon Springs, Fla.
Born May 14, 1977, in Sewickley, Mr. Ford lived in Aliquippa for 2 years. He also had lived in Moon Township.
He was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Sewickley.
He was a self-employed delivery person.
He was the beloved son of Ronald Ford Sr. of Moon Township and Vicki Hopkins of Sheridan, Pa.
He was the beloved companion of Holly Cairns of Aliquippa; and loving brother of Heather Ford and Holly Ford, both of Monroeville, and Jason Ford of Moon Township.
He was the half-brother of Deanna Beaver of Ambridge, and beloved grandson of Henry and Elizabeth (Broskey) Ford of Sewickley, Karl Hopkins of Aliquippa, Darwin Parish and the late Kathryn Parish of Ambridge.
He had many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
A Blessing Service was held at Copeland's Sewickley - Irvine Chapel, 702 Beaver St. with the Rev. Al Semler from St. James Roman Catholic Church officiating.
Burial followed in Sewickley Cemetery.
Lanzarotta
Philip Lanzarotta, 56, of Richmond, Va., died Oct. 22, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Stacey; daughter, Kimberly; father, Philip Lanzarotta; brother, Thomas Lanzarotta; sister, Janet Ordons; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Bridget's Catholic Church.
Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
