Mrs. Hayes was a long-time member of St. Joseph Church choir and the Benedictines Oblates.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hayes.
Surviving is her son, Patrick Hayes of Oakmont.

Krelko
Steve Krelko, 78, of Penn Hills died Oct. 6, 2002.
Mr. Krelko was a World War II veteran who served in the Battle of Bulge in the 702nd Tank Battalion Company D and a member of the American Legion Post 351.
Mr. Krelko was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Woessner; two sisters; and a brother.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Krelko; daughters, Teresa Galewski of Penn Hills and Susan Bythrow of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Sam Krelko of Penn Hills; nine sisters; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Thomas D. English Funeral Home Inc. Service was held at St. John the Fisher Church.
Sherrill
Barbara Sherrill, 72, formerly of Oakmont, died Oct. 1, 2002.
Mrs. Sherrill was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy Sherrill; and a son, Jeffrey Sherrill.
Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Donald Sherrill; a son, Philip Sherrill of Murrysville; a daughter, Lynn Janosik of Bethel Park; brothers, Edward Messenger of Wilkins Township and William Messenger of Florida; and four grandchildren.
A service will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. in Oakmont Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were made by Thomas D. English Funeral Home Inc.
Stagno
Marian Stagno, 70, of Verona, formerly of East Liberty died Oct. 7, 2002, at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born on Feb. 12, 1931, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of William Schiller and Agnes Pulfer.
Ms. Stagno retired as a bookkeeper in the loan business.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Flynn.
Surviving are her daughters, Jane Hoff of Virginia and Betty Maguire of Penn Hills; a sister, Betty Simko of McKees Rocks; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at Burket-Truby Funeral Home, Inc., where a service was held with the Rev. Catherine Day officiating. Interment was at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery.
DiFatta
Nicholas DiFatta, 85, formerly of Oakmont, died Dec. 18, 2001.
Mr. DiFatta was a retired plant manager for 37 years at Woodings Tool Works.
He was an active member of Oakmont Chamber of Commerce, F&AM 548 and Oakmont Presbyterian Church. He was a 1935 Oakmont High School graduate.
Surviving are his wife, Alice (Johnston) DiFatta; his daughter, Barbara Davis and her husband, Robert, of Hampton; a sister, Sarah DiFatta; a brother, Frank DiFatta; and a granddaughter, Nicole Cassani.

Brennan
Bernice M. Brennan, 89, of Verona died Dec. 19, 2001, in UPMC St. Margaret.
Born Aug. 9, 1912, in Verona, she was the daughter of James and Clara (Cook) Toy.
Mrs. Brennan was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frances Brennan.
Surviving are her sons, Charles of Saxonburg, Denny of Penn Hills, and Ronald and Leonard Brennan, both of Verona; daughters, Nancy Kness of Penn Hills, Carol Visk of Verona and Barbara Coe of Saxonburg.
She is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Barr
Patricia A. Barr, 50, of Penn Hills died Dec. 17, 2001.
Surviving are her children, Josh and Abby Barr of Penn Hills; sisters, Elizabeth Green, Karen McLister and Kathleen Myers; and a brother, John Wendell of Penn Hills.

Smitley
William C. Smitley Jr., 84, of North Versailles died July 23, 2002, in Allegheny General Hospital.
Born April 22, 1918, in Swissvale, he was the son of William and Theresa (Huldine) Smitley Sr. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Smitley was a member of First United Methodist Church of East McKeesport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Adline (Gutilus) Smitley Surviving are his son, William Smitley of Memphis, Tenn.; and a sister, Jean Parry.
Friends were received at Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home. Interment was at Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park.
Herrington
Helen T. (Hreha) Herrington, 77, of Monroeville died July 17, 2002.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Bernadette Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Debra Mikol of North Huntingdon, Karen Gallo of Monroeville and Theresa Wampler of Herminie; a granddaughter, Tina Wampler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Scheuerle
Mary (Weaver) Scheuerle, 86, of the Oak Hill Nursing Center, formerly of Manor, died July 10, 2001.
Born Aug. 22, 1914, in Irwin, she was the daughter of Frank and Victoria (Rys) Weaver. Mrs. Scheuerle was a former member of Manor Women's Club, and member of First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Scheuerle; a brother, Charles Weaver; and two sisters, Frances Rygiel and Ann Kuhns.
Surviving are her daughters, Irene Scheuerle of West Newton and Jane Beaulieu of Manor; and grandsons, Kevin and James Beaulieu.
Friends were received at Vincent V. Rodgers Funeral Home. Interment was at Brush Creek Cemetery.
