Surviving are her husband, Benedict J. Roney; two daughters, Linda Bernard, Ohioville, and Kathy VanDusen, Sewickley; a son, John Roney, Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren; two brothers, James Potts, Palmer, Mass., and Edward Potts, Glenshaw; four sisters, Rachel Hysong, Glenshaw; Grace Holland, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Janie Heinze, Glenshaw, and Helen Felsenthal, Philadelphia, Pa. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Potts. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Robinson Township. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Moon Township.
James E. Throm Sr., 75, of Brighton Township, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Jan. 18, 1924, in Jeannette, Pa., a son of the late Louis E. and Dorcas Stacey Throm, he was a retired millwright from St. Joe Lead Company, Potter Township. He was a member of the Four Mile Presbyterian Church, Ohioville; the Midland Sportsmen's Club; F&AM No.457; the Armed Guard, and the V.F.W. and the American Legion, both in Monaca. Surviving are his wife, Margaret A. Joseph Throm; two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Julia A. Throm Jr., Galloway, Ohio, and Robert Alan and Donna S. Throm, Fredericksburg, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue and Stan C. Rogalla, Brighton Township; two nephews, Louis and James Brice; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Louis C. Throm, and a sister, Theda A. Brice Monroe. Charles "Tubby" Wallace Sr., 75, of Darlington, formerly of Short Creek, W.Va., died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in his residence. Born July 26, 1923, in Short Creek, a son of the late Charlie Wallace and Josephine Martin Wallace, he was a steelworker and was employed at Babcock and Wilcox for 23 years and had worked for Weirton Steel for 12 years. He was Protestant by faith; an Army veteran of World War II; and was a former member of the L.M.B.A. and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8106, both in New Galilee. Surviving are his wife, Pauline A. Ennis Wallace; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles "Lou" Robert Wallace Jr. and his wife, Darlene, Darlington; Lester Lee Wallace and his wife, Kathie, New Galilee, and Clifford Wayne Wallace, Chippewa Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A. Ebersberger and her husband, Donald, Darlington; seven grandchildren, Leroy Shoaff Jr., Michele Shoaff, Jimmy Wallace, Clifford Wallace, Rachelle Wallace, Matt Wallace, and Jodi Laderer, and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Clyde, David, and Wilford Wallace. Friends will be received today from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Rd., where a service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jeff Noyes of the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Darlington, officiating. Interment will follow in Short Creek Cemetery, Short Creek, W.Va. Full military rites will be observed by the Veteran's Honor Squad.
Grace Louise Ward, 49, of Manassas, Va., died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Prince William Hospital, Manassas. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Morgan, and a sister, Christine Schopmeyer. Survivors include a son, Andrew Morgan Ward, and a daughter, Hilary Kathleen Ward, both at home; her mother, Virginia Morgan, New Brighton; a sister, Jennifer Donovan, Beaver Falls; two nephews, and four nieces. Also surviving are her sorority sisters of Preceptor Alpha Gamma of Chapter Beta Sigma Phi. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PRICE FUNERAL HOME, 9609 Center St., Manassas, Va., where services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. Interment will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township. Matilda (Chastko) Angelo, 84, a Neville Island resident since 1950, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Sewickley Valley Hospital. Born Dec. 15, 1914, in Ambridge, a daughter of the late Francis and Mathilda (Galusy) Chastko, she was a 1930 graduate of Ambridge High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Church; Christian Mothers, and the Neville Island Republican Club. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Paul R. Angelo Sr.; two sons, Paul R. Angelo Jr., Boston, Ga., and Robert J. Angelo, Marlton, N.J., and a grandson, Daniel Lee Angelo, Jamison, Pa. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Chastko and Anne Bish, and a brother, Joseph Chastko. James D. Arbogast Jr., 67, of New Brighton (New Sewickley Township), died Tuesday morning, Feb. 16, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Jan. 15, 1932, in Monaca, he was a beloved son of Helen C. Reese Snyder, of Monaca, and the late James D. Arbogast Sr. He was a retired electrician with IBEW Local 1319, Wilkes Barre, and was formerly employed by the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. A U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he attended the Monaca United Methodist Church and was a member and past master of Rochester Lodge 229 F&AM. He volunteered with Canoe Trails and was a ham radio operator with the call letter KB3LU. A member of the Jammy Jammers Square Dancing Group, he was a mobile unit assistant for the Red Cross; had taught hunter safety courses for many years, and was a member of the Beaver Valley Kennel Club. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 21 years, Doris J. Booth Arbogast, whom he married Sept. 29, 1977; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Casey Arbogast, Havertown, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Jeffrey Span, Economy, and Theresa and Jerry Davis, Meadville, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Rhonda Happ, Rochester, and Donna Snyder, Pittsburgh; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Robert Matasick, in Alabama, and eight grandchildren, Taunya, Tiffy, Brittney, Joshua, Danielle, Dakota, Kameron and Shelby. Ervin L. "Red" Bryant, 62, of Locust Street, Ambridge, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in the Sewickley Valley Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 23, 1936, in Belfast, Maine, a son of the late Chester and Edna Cottrell Bryant, he was a resident of Ambridge for the past three years. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was employed as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for the past 10 years. Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Cecilia Alsko Bryant; three sons, Dwayne Parrish, Hopewell Township; Eugene Bryant, Aliquippa, and Ervin Bryant Jr., Hopewell Township; two daughters, Darlene and her husband, Freddy Miller, in Florida, and Anna and her husband, James Campbell, Hopewell Township; four grandchildren, Frank, Rebecca and Elizabeth Miller, all in Florida, and Austin Campbell, Hopewell Township; four brothers, Jerald Bryant, in Kentucky; Burleigh Wall, in Ohio; Jesse Wall, New Brighton, and Donald Wall, in South Carolina, and a sister, Gertha Hamilton, Aliquippa. Catherine "Katie" I. Cerra, 82, a resident of Beaver Falls for 48 years, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in the Providence Health Care Center, Beaver Falls. Born Sept. 11, 1916, in Clinton, Pa., a daughter of the late Pirmin and Rosa Simon Hund, she was a cigarette stamper, having worked for the Beaver Falls Candy and Cigar Company. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish, Beaver Falls; Ladies Guild, and the VIP's. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Mary T. and George R. Hurbanek, Beaver Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Martha) Baxter, Erie, Pa., and Mrs. William (Josephine) Carson, Pittsburgh, and two grandchildren, Tara Hurbanek, Beaver Falls, and George Hurbanek II, Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix L. Cerra, on July 31, 1991; two brothers, Peter and Frank Hund, and four sisters, Marie Ihrig, Anna Hund, Bertha Francis and Margaret Parra. Marguerite "Marie" Dye Clark, 89, of Center Township, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, after an extended illness. Born Dec. 12, 1909, in Rochester, a daughter of the late James and Margaret Dye, she was a former lifelong resident of Aliquippa. She was a retired teacher at St. Titus Roman Catholic Church for many years and was also a substitute at other area schools. She was a member of St. Titus Roman Catholic Church, Aliquippa, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers of St. Titus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Clark; three brothers, Joseph, William and Maurice Dye, and a sister, Gladys McDermott. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marie and William Schrum, Center Township; Kathleen and Richard Kemmery, Frackville, Pa., and Sister Maureen Clark, C.S.J., Boston, Mass.; six grandchildren, Brian, Megan, Mark and Patrick Kemmery, all of Frackville, Pa., and William and Michael Schrum, both of Center Township; a brother, Raymond Dye, Aliquippa, and many nieces and nephews. William E. Davidson Sr., 83, of West Mayfield, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, in his residence. Born Oct. 12, 1915, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Roy J. and Yarda Sternquist Davidson, he was a member of St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church. He had attended Youngstown University, where he played football, and was a member of the Beaver Falls Owls Club and the Beaver Falls Turners. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Products Company in 1981. Surviving are his wife, Catherine M. Trn Davidson; two sons and two daughters-in-law, William E. Davidson Jr. and his wife, Peggy, Pittsburgh, and Thomas J. Davidson and his wife, Suzanne, Follansbee, W.Va.; four grandsons, William E. Davidson III and Matthew Davidson, Pittsburgh, and T.J.
