Ann Buttermore, 76, of Aliquippa, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in her home. Born May 26, 1922, in Ambridge, a daughter of the late Theodore and Eva Stacey, she was a member of the First Methodist Church, Aliquippa, and CFU Lodge 423. Mrs. Buttermore is survived by her husband, James J. Buttermore; a daughter, Cheryl Snedeker, New Brighton; a brother, Paul Stacey, Ambridge; a sister, Nellie Datz, Pembroke Pines, Fla.; three grandchildren, Joseph Becker, James Becker and Rhonda Duffy, and a great-granddaughter, Madison Duffy. Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WAYNE N. TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME, 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, where a service will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Paul Sparrer, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Aliquippa.
Mary A. (DeFelice) Colonna, 81, of Center Township and formerly of Monaca where she resided for 70 years, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999. Born May 7, 1917, in Youngwood, Pa., a daughter of the late Angelo and Onorato Colonna, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Monaca. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who came in contact with her. The love of her life was her family, yet she welcomed all with open arms and a warm heart. She is survived by three daughters and one son and their spouses, Bertha (Martin) and Stephen Moakley Jr., with whom she resided; Janet and Frank Parker, Center Township; Anita and Donald Regney, Monaca, and John and Shirley DeFelice, Monaca. She leaves behind two dear friends, Rosemarie and Ron Book, Freedom. She also leaves 15 beloved grandchildren and 27 beloved great-grandchildren. Interment took place Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Monaca. Arrangements were handled by the SIMPSON FUNERAL HOME, Monaca.
Anamae H. (Schutz) Deer, 67, formerly of Ross Township, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in Ocala, Fla. Born Jan. 6, 1932, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Reimenschneider) Schutz, she was a member of the Norwood Herrington Chapter 356 O.E.S. She was a bookkeeper early in her career for Pittsburgh National Bank, and then later before her retirement for the Four Seasons Boutique. She is survived by her husband, Russell Deer; two daughters, Debra Justice, Ohioville, and Dana Eichlin, in Virginia; a son, Daniel Deer, in Minnesota, and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME INC., 388 Center Ave., West View, where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pastor Richard Raines, of the Fairview Reformed Presbyterian, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Royal Cemetery, Shaler Township. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Peter John Fick, 33, of Moon Township, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999. Born June 3, 1965, in Kennedy Township, Pa., he was a son of Peter Carlton Fick of Neville Township, and Anne (Viccaro) Dey of Moon Township. Father of Emily Rae and Hanna Jeanne Fick, both of Moon Township, he was the brother of Christopher Matthew Fick of Neville Township; grandson of Caroline Viccaro of North Hills, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Peter M. and Lillie Mae Fick, Sheraton. Peter graduated in 1983 from South Side High School. He was self-employed as a carpenter, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the COPELAND MOON TOWNSHIP FUNERAL HOME, 981 Brodhead Road, where services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Michael Fick will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gateway Rehabilitation Center, Moffett Road, Aliquippa, Pa. 15001.
Margaret C. Gini, 77, of Beaver Falls, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999. Prayers will be recited today at 9:30 a.m. in the CAMPBELL'S BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 14th Street and Eighth Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Divine Mercy Parish, Beaver Falls. Father Donald R. Bischof will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
Martha Jean Guzzetti, 78, of 1025 Hunt Club Lane, Lancaster, Pa., died Saturday evening, Feb. 20, 1999, in her home following a brief illness. For 20 years, she was a cashier at the A&P Supermarket in Beaver Falls, retiring in 1973. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Born in East Palestine, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Albina Lyons Frederick. She moved to Lancaster from Beaver Falls in 1986. Her husband, Raymond A. Guzzetti, died in 1972. Surviving are a son, Raymond R., husband of Margaret Guzzetti, with whom she lived; a daughter, Jeanne Ann, wife of Roy Loftus, Thomasville, Ga.; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and two sisters, Helen Rose, East Palestine, Ohio, and Ethel Brown, Sebring, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and James Frederick, and a sister, Pauline Mybuck. A graveside service will be held Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of St. Mary Catholic Church, Beaver Falls.
Vernon Eugene "Gene" Harr, 80, of Center Township, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Dec. 20, 1918, in Greensburg, Pa., a son of the late Vernon E. and Iva Lyons Harr, he was a retired counselor and assisant football coach of the Beaver Falls Area School District for 21 years, having started in 1959. Prior to Beaver Falls School District, he was an assistant football coach from 1944 to 1949 and head coach from 1949 to 1958 at the Freedom Area School District. He was inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. A member of the First Presbyterian Church, Monaca, he was a 1937 graduate of Freedom High School, a 1942 graduate of Geneva College and recieved his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1957. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Beulah M. (Powell) Harr; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bud Keffer, McSherrystown, Pa.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jan E. Harr, Center Township; James M. and Terri Harr, Troy, Mich., and Daniel L. and Jeanne Harr, Rindge, N.H.; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Jean Harr, in 1942. Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester, where a service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. His pastor, the Rev. Dennis D. Burnett, will officiate. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom. George R. Love Jr., 75, of New Brighton, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born June 27, 1923, in Rochester, a son of the late George Sr. and Bertha Mae (Gibson) Love, he retired in 1989 from the street department of the Borough of New Brighton, and was a veteran of World War II serving in Normandy and Northern France with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 19, New Brighton; former member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 47, and was a member of the Morado Faith Tabernacle, Beaver Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Lou (Thomas) Love, on Aug. 3, 1976; a brother, William, and three sisters, Maxine, Pauline and Zora. Surviving are a son, George E. Love, New Brighton; two stepsons, Robert Thomas, Ambridge, and Royal Thomas, Parkersburg, W. Va.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Eugene Love, New Brighton; a sister, Bernice Pickens, Columbus, Ohio, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, where a service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Donald W. Knapp officiating. Private interment
will follow in Sylvania Hills, Rochester. The family will also receive friends at his granddaughter's home, Reba Thomas, 83 Harmony Dwellings, Beaver Falls (843-2553).
Marilyn L. McMasters, 52, of Hookstown, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, in UPMC-Beaver Valley, following a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 29, 1946, in East Liverpool, a daughter of Eulalie Boyd Hall, Hookstown, and the late Lee Roy Hall, she was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, James F. McMasters Jr.; two sons, Paul C. McMasters, Massillon, Ohio, and Brian A. McMasters, serving with the U.S. Army at Ft. Detrick, Md.; a daughter, Lori L. McMasters, Hookstown; a brother, Dale B. Hall, Hookstown, and a grandson, Colin McMasters. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Hall. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WELCH FUNERAL HOME, Hookstown, where Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski, her pastor, will conduct services Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown.
