Born Dec. 26, 1914, in McKees Rocks, a son of the late Anton and Frances Cavlovic Marzlak, he was a retired employee of the Seamless Tube Department of LTV Steel, Aliquippa. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, Crescent Township; C.F.U. American Serbian Club; Crescent Township Volunteer Fire Department, and the Allegheny County Chiefs Association. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Fabec Marzlak; a son, Ralph Marzlak, Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Bonnie Marzlak, San Francisco, Calif., and a sister, Cathryn Swartz, Crescent Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Marzlak. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WAYNE N. Robert R. Pardue, 62, of Raccoon Township, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Feb. 28, 1936, in North Wilkesboro, N.C., a son of Ray F. Pardue, Raccoon Township, and the late Hattie M. Pardue, he was a retired teacher and Director of Guidance for the South Side Area School District, where he worked for 30 years. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association Inc. In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading, movies, cooking and traveling. Surviving are his wife, Emma K. (Trdina) Pardue; a brother, Frank Pardue, Cocoa Beach, Fla., and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOSEPH M. Virginia Freed Mullins Parker, 68, of Columbia, Tenn., fomerly of Homewood, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, after a battle with cancer. Born July 10, 1930, in Homewood, Pa., she was a member of the Homewood Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 1990, and her father, Sherman Freed in 1970. Surviving are her dear mother, Mary E. Abert, Homewood; four sons, Charles Mullins, in Florida; Harold Mullins, New Galilee; Robert Mullins, and Johnny Mullins, in California; a daughter, Bonnie, Slippery Rock, Pa.; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, John Freed, Beaver Falls; Delmar and Viola Freed, Homewood, with whom Mary resides; William and Sandy Freed, Clearwater, Fla., and George and Joyce Freed, New Castle, and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 4, 1999, at 11 a.m. in the Homewood Methodist Church, First Avenue.
Homer Boyd Potts, 65, of Hookstown, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver, following a lengthy illness. Born April 10, 1933, in Hookstown, a son of Wilda Boyd Potts, Hookstown, and the late Howard C. Potts, he was a retired employee of the former Colt Industries, Midland. He attended the Hookstown Free Methodist Church and was a Charter Member of the Hookstown Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Beaver Valley Historical Society and a former member of the South Side Area School Board and the Hookstown Boro Council. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Fetty Potts; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce H. and Jody Potts, Brighton Township; Steven L. and Sandy Potts, Georgetown, and Brian H. and Margie Potts, Chester; two daughters, Ursula M. Potts, in Alabama, and Mrs. J.D. (Elizabeth A.) Halulko, Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren, and two brothers, Jack Potts and Milton (Bunk) Potts, both of Hookstown. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WELCH FUNERAL HOME, Hookstown, where a service will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski. Interment will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown.
George E. Rollinitis, 79, of Aliquippa, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in UPMC - Beaver Valley. Born April 4, 1919, in Bentleyville, Pa., a son of the late Peter and Virginia (Rutkosky) Rollinitis, he worked in the accounting department of the Aliquippa Works, Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. He was a member of the Aliquippa Salvation Army, where he served as treasurer and Sunday school teacher. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are a son, George D. Rollinitis; a daughter, Carolyn Rollinitis; five grandchildren; a nephew, John E. Roulanaitis; a niece, and a very close friend whom he treated as a daughter, Phyllis Duesenberry, Aliquippa. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN ALIQUIPPA FUNERAL HOME, 2345 Mill St., where a service will be held Monday at 11 a.m., by Capt. Betty Senik, 81, of 102 Edgewood Rd., Economy, passed on to be with the Lord Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999. A daughter of the late James and Grace Shaffer McCaffrey, she was a member of the Pinehurst Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She was a retired cafeteria worker from the Baden, Economy, and Ambridge school districts. She was also a member of Harmony Manechor and the Ambridge American Legion auxiliary and was a Pennsylvania State School Retiree. Surviving are her former husband, Joseph Senik; a son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Sue Holman, Economy; three grandchildren, Holly Lynn Kozak, Heide Sue Holman, and Sharon L. Holman, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Kitty Ludwig, Mildred Holman, and Ruth Mecklin. Stephen T. Siget Sr., 70, of Rochester, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in Rochester Manor. A son of Mildred Vuynovich Siget, of Rochester, and the late Ivan Siget, he was a retired foreman with Conrail and was a member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Rochester. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Stella Gurski Siget; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Terry Siget, Industry, and Daniel and Rita Siget, Chippewa Township; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ellen and John Fioravanti, Bedford, Texas; Diana and Sam Colalella, Georgetown, Ky., and Lori Gula, Ohioville; eight grandchildren, Jennifer and Lindsey Fioravanti, Nicole Livingston, Sharon Colalella, Stephen and Melissa Siget, and Selena and Frank Gula; a great-grandson, Nathaniel Hoffman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Dorothy Siget, Conway, and Michael and Sophia Siget, Center Township; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diana and Roy Bigler, Murrysville, Pa., and Mary Ann and Verdane Brown, Rochester Township; a sister-in-law, Helen Siget, Rochester, and a brother-in-law, Norman Kurhansky, Industry. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Siget, and a sister, Dorothy Kurhansky. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held today at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Bissell Smilek, 59, of 344 Mt. Vernon Dr., Ellwood City, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, in her residence. Born March 1, 1939, in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Culley Bissell, she was raised in Beaver. She was a 1957 graduate of Beaver High School; graduated from Geneva College with a degree in Elementary Education, and received her first Master's degree in Guidance Counseling from Slippery Rock University. She later received her Principal's degree from Westminster College. She taught gifted classes in the Riverside School District; later taught at the Marion School, and most recently at the Riverside Primary Center, until taking a sabbatical leave. Along with her husband, she was the co-owner of Steele Print, Ellwood City. She attended Calvin Presbyterian Church, Ellwood City. Surviving are her husband, Arthur W. Smilek; a daughter, Christin Smilek, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald W. and Mary Smilek, Severn, Md.; a brother, Arthur Bissell, Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Cheryl Bissell, Edgewater, Md., and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, F. Phillip and Olive Smilek, North Sewickley. Elsie R. Steiner, 72, of Beaver Falls, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Beaver Township. Born May 30, 1926, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late William J. and Anna M. Slavik Steiner, she attended the College Hill United Methodist Church. A graduate of the Providence Hospital Nursing School, she was a registered nurse and anesthetist at The Medical Center, Beaver, until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of the Providence Hospital Alumnae Association and a former member of the Sweet Adelines. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna W. Steiner, on Dec. 25, 1991. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CAMPBELL'S BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 14th Street and Eighth Avenue, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev.
