Born Sept. 26, 1937, in Sewickley, a son of Marianne (Kelliher) Henry, of Hopewell Township, and the late Charles Henry Sr., he was a retired employee of the 14 inch mill and the maintenance department of LTV Steel Aliquippa. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Hopewell Township; Knights of Columbus, and the Beaver County Dart League. He was a peacetime veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Henry was a former baseball coach at Freedom Area High School, a former football equipment manager for Hopewell High and Freedom Area High School, and a founding member and former coach of the Beaver County Hockey Association. In addition to his mother, he will be sadly missed by his wife, Marcella (Donina) Henry; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles II and Michelle Henry, Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynnette and Colin Cole, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a granddaughter, Jasmine Henry; a sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Robert Irvin, Mount Nebo; three nieces; a nephew, and many loving friends. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WAYNE N. TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME, 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, where a service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Township.
Irene C. Holcomb, 68, a lifelong resident of the Beaver Valley area, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born April 30, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William and Charlotte Dugan, she was a homemaker and a Catholic by faith. Surviving are five sons and three daughters-in-law, Earl G. Holcomb Jr., at home; William J. and Kim Holcomb, Beaver Falls; Ronald L. Holcomb, at home; Michael A. and Karen Holcomb, Baden, and David G. and Beth Holcomb, Woodbridge, Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Kay Dugan, and Edward and Sandra Dugan, all of Ambridge; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Eleanor Gillies, Los Alamitos, Calif., and Doris and Willie Yuchinsky, Kissimmee, Fla., and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl G. Holcomb, on Nov. 11, 1985, and a sister, Ann Holcomb. A blessing service will be held today at 1 p.m. in the LUTTON BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 1117 Fifth Ave., with Father Don Bischof, of the Divine Mercy Parish, officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery, Chippewa Township.
Christine Marmack, 91, formerly of Harmony Township, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Villa St. Joseph, Baden. Born Feb. 10, 1908, in Madera, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Paraska (Tatusko) Gudzan, she was a member of St. John Orthodox Church, Ambridge, and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Harmony Township Volunteer Fire Department. Her husband, John, preceded her in death in 1980. Surviving are many nephews and nieces. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WALTER R. KASPER FUNERAL HOME, Eighth Street, Ambridge, where a service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m., followed by an additional service at 11 a.m. in St. John Orthodox Church, Ambridge. The Very Rev. John Gido, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery. A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
Frank R. Mayo, 81, of Beaver, formerly of Rochester, passed away Thursday, March 4, 1999, at his residence. Born April 3, 1917, in Rochester, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Guisto Mayo, he was a retired conductor with Conrail for 40 years in Conway, and was a member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Rochester. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Paradinovich Mayo, in 1993. He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Frank A. and Karen Mayo, and Ron L. and Chris Mayo, all of Industry; John F. and Carol Mayo, Economy, and Michael P. and Dawn Mayo, Midland; 12 grandchildren, Lisa and John Mayo; Michael, Stephen, and Denica Mayo; Anthony Mayo, Rochele Mayo Rivetti, Leah Mayo, Ryan Mayo, and Jay, Jonathon and Mary Beth Hale; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Mikaela; a sister, Sarah Mayo, New Brighton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Charles Mayo, and a sister, Rose Chevront. Olga Nadzak, 88, of Hopewell Township, a former resident of Economy for 35 years, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in Villa St. Joseph, Baden, following an extended illness. Born Feb. 9, 1911, in South Side, Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Demchak Pawlishak, she was the owner and operator of the Fabric Center in both Sewickley and Ambridge for many years, retiring in 1957. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge, and was a former member of the Sewickley Business and Professional Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Nadzak Sr., on Aug. 13, 1989, and a brother, Russell Pawlishak. Florence G. Pease, 90, a longtime resident of Aliquippa, died February 19, 1999. Born Jan 2, 1909, in Chicago, Ill., she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Pease, in 1977. Surviving are a niece, Ruth McLarkey, Fort Worth, Texas; a nephew, Lloyd Cooper, in Tennessee, and caretakers, Delora Turosik and John Miller.
George C. Robbins, 82, of New Brighton, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Feb. 22, 1917, in Rochester, a son of the late Clarence A. and Mathilda Werner Robbins, he was a retired employee of Colt Industries, Midland. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Brighton; Edith Lodge 812 IOOF, and Harrison Graham Encampment 116, both of Freedom. A veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Force, he was a member of Anderson-Adkins American Legion Post 19, New Brighton, and was a former member of the New Brighton Lions Club and the New Brighton Fire Department Police. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Powell Robbins, on April 5, 1993. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Pamela J.) Cox, Beaver, and Eleanor Rossi, Dayton, Ohio; a friend, Sue Brewer, Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren, Douglas Cox, Donna Cox and Christene Cox, all of New Brighton; Paul Rossi II, Beaver, and Rory and Margo Rossi, Augsburgh, Germany; four great-grandchildren; a brother, William A. Stella N. Scheidmantel, 92, of Rochester Township, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Jan. 12, 1907, in Beaver, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances Piersol Neely, she was a retired elementary teacher in the Rochester Area School District and other Beaver County school districts. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Rochester; a former teacher with the Ladies Bible Class; past president of the Beaver County PTA, and a member of the Beaver County Child Study Club, Rochester Woman's Club and the D.A.R. A graduate of Beaver High School, she received her teaching degree from Geneva College. Surviving are her husband, Paul E. Scheidmantel Sr.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Benjamin Wescott, Fairfax, Va., and Marleigh and Dan Zimmerman, Brighton Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul E. "Skip" Jr. and Marty Scheidmantel, Beaver; three grandsons, Kent Shutey, Canton, Ohio; Douglas Wescott, Fairfax, Va., and Paul E. Scheidmantel III, Beaver; two granddaughters, Amy Petterson, Macomb Township, Mich., and Megan Scheidmantel, Beaver, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Frances McCoy, Wynola Morgan, Laurene Neely and Ethelyn Faris, and a brother, Benjamin Neely. Theodore L. Sherosky Sr., 83, of Springdale, Pa., died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in Harmar Village. Born June 8, 1915, in Creighton, Pa., a son of the late Michael and Stella Sobotka Sherosky, he was a retired janitor from the Allegheny Valley School District. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a life member of the Springdale VFW; DAV Alle Kiski Chapter 53, and played sandlot baseball for Harwick. Surviving are his son, Theodore L. Jr., Rochester; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Emma L.) Haley, Center Township, and Mrs. Daniel (Ellen M.) Phillips, Springdale Township; a brother, Einar Sherosky, Springdale; two sisters, Josephine Therasse and Marcella Sherosky, both of Edinboro, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Parker) Sherosky, in 1992; brothers, Ralph, Joseph and Daniel, and sister, Frances Shaffer. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service today at 2 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. David L.H. Carlisle officiating. Grace Styles, 70, of Frostproof, Polk County, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, in her home. Born March 7, 1928, in Aliquippa, she was a homemaker. She moved to Frostproof, Fla., nine years ago. Surviving are her husband, Perry Styles, of Frostproof; a son, Perry Styles, Virginia Beach, Va., and daughters, Sherise Long, Brevard, N.C., and Bernice Hahn, Dahlgren, Va.
