Born Nov. 17, 1910, in New Brighton, a son of the late Elmer E. and Jenny Foster Pflugh, he was a member of the Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church. He was employed by the Babcock & Wilcox Co., retiring in 1965. During his working years, he was also a farmer, which was his first love. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Margaret E. Shaffer Pflugh; two sons and daughters-in-law, John L. and Andrea Pflugh, Zelienople, and Robert and Charlotte Pflugh, New Brighton; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Bonzo, New Brighton; 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ken and Gale Pflugh, and a sister, Thelma Pflugh. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME INC. at SYLVANIA HILLS MEMORIAL PARK INC., Daugherty Township, where a service will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. His pastor, Dr. John W. Seth, will officiate. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. Margaret M. Price, 69, of North Sewickley Township, died Monday, March 8, 1999, in her residence. Born July 31, 1929, in Eastvale, a daughter of Pearl J. Hall Hummel and the late Leonard R. Hummel, she was a homemaker and a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Beaver Falls. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Howard W. Price; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard H. and Qunnia Price, Wampum, and John M. and Carolyn Price, North Sewickley Township; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Debby) Jeannette, Ellwood City, and Mrs. Michael (Nancy) Boswell, Beaver Falls; nine grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. William (Catherine) Farrow, North Sewickley Township. John C. (Skip) Skocich Sr., 59, of New Brighton, went home to be with his Lord after a brief illness on Saturday, March 6, 1999. Born Dec. 17, 1939, in Conway, a son of the late John and Lillian Thiel Skocich, he was the owner of Allen Paving Co., and a member of the Conway Sportsman's Club, the National Rifle Association, and was Presbyterian by faith. He is survived by his wife, Judy White Skocich; two sons and daughters-in-law, John C. and Kathy Skocich Jr., and Jeffrey F. and Dawn Skocich; two grandsons, John C. Skocich III and Jeffrey F. Skocich Jr.; two granddaughters, Tabitha M. Skocich and Caitlyn M. Skocich, all of North Sewickley Township; three brothers and a sister-in-law, James S. Skocich, Virginia Beach, Va.; Robert C. Skocich, Conway, and Joseph F. and Loretta Skocich, Rochester, N.Y.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Jack (Betty) Ocker, Hyattsville, Md.; Mrs. Steve (Mary Alice) Cayton, Millersville, Md.; Mrs. C. Norman M. St. Esprit, 68, of New Brighton, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center. Born April 18, 1930, in Quebec, Canada, a son of the late Clarence and Rose Gauvin St. Esprit, he was a Roman Catholic by faith. He was a past member of the Beaver Falls Turners and the Monaca Senior Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald St. Esprit. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Junita St. Esprit, Sarasota, Fla., and Michael and Sheila St. Esprit, Washington, Pa.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Diane Dixon, New Brighton; Mrs. Robert (Norma St. Esprit) Butler, Beaver Falls, and Sharon Rowan, Bridgewater; 12 grandchldren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lawrence St. Esprit, Rochester; Guy St. Esprit, in Florida, and Andre St. Esprit, in Texas, and two sisters, Mrs. Wallace (Rosemary) Croft, Bridgewater, and Mrs. Pete (Fern) Madgar, Vanport. The Rev. Donald L. Thomas, of 2004 S. Heights Ave., Youngstown, Ohio, formerly of New Castle, Pa., died at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 7, 1999, in the Assumption Village. Born Nov. 22, 1919, in Houtzdale, Pa., a son of Daniel Thomas and Rena Crago, he moved to Youngstown from New Castle in July 1998. Rev. Thomas had been a minister in the Primitive Methodist Conference for 50 years having served as pastor in churches in Mount Carmel, Pa., for four years; Girardville, Pa., for two years; Pittsburgh for five years; Cleveland, Ohio, for nine years, and from 1964 to 1972 at the Glenwood Primitive Methodist Church in Youngstown. He also pastored at churches in Streetsboro, Ohio, for 16 years, and Beaver Falls for six years (1988 to 1994), retiring in 1994. Rev. Thomas was actively involved in the Primitive Methodist Denomination having served as president for a year, Pittsburgh District, superintendent for five years, and president of the National Mission Board for 25 years. He served as president of the Peniel Holiness Association Camp meeting at Conneautville, Pa., for 30 years. He graduated in 1944 from the Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts, and was a member of the Maitland Memorial Church, New Castle. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Lewis Thomas, whom he married June 9, 1944; a son, Donald L. Thomas Jr., Youngstown, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Carol A. Doyle, Boardman, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Reida Steffler, Monaca, and Mrs. Barbara Crawford, Mars, Pa., and three grandsons. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Thomas. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, 4221 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the Glenwood Primitive Methodist Church, Youngstown. Mary M. Torhan, 67, of Ambridge, died Saturday morning, March 6, 1999, in the home of her son in Moon Township. Born Aug. 19, 1931, in New York City, N.Y., she was a former employee of Armco Steel Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Torhan, on May 16, 1986, and a son, Michael Torhan, on March 1, 1988. Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, David Torhan, Ambridge; Frank and Cathy Torhan, Baden; Ken Torhan, Tempe, Ariz., and John and Mary Torhan, Moon Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Steve Murr, Hopewell Township; seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at 4 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Don Wilson, pastor of Christ Church of Grove Farm, will officiate. Nicolina Manno Tripodi, 84, of College Hill, Beaver Falls, formerly of Serra S. Bruno, Provincia Catanzaro, Italy, died Monday, March 8, 1999, in Salem Hospital, Salem, Ohio. Born May 23, 1914, in Serra S. Bruno, Provincia Catanzaro, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Francesco A. and Giuseppina Morreale Manno. During the 1930s, she worked at the Pants Factory in Beaver Falls. She was a charter member of St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church, Beaver Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony R. Tripodi, on Jan. 17, 1983; two brothers, Rocco and Angelo Manno, and three sisters, Marietta Manno Ceriani, Catina Manno Timpano and Bruna Manno Campisi. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Anita (Tripodi) Guneri, College Hill, and Doris (Tripodi) and Charles Fetter, White Township; a brother, Salvatore Manno, Calabria, Italy, and a sister, Marianne Manno, Calabria, Italy. Earl N. Tuttle, 81, a resident of the Community Care Center since 1994, formerly of Market Street, Alliance, Ohio, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at 1:47 p.m. in the Community Care Center. Born May 1, 1917, in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of the late Ellis and Jennie (Crow) Tuttle, he was a resident of the Alliance area since 1950. He retired in 1974 after 23 years of service as a press operator at Transue-Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. (Motherspaugh) Tuttle, on Oct. 26, 1985; two brothers, and a sister. Surviving are two brothers, Albert and Russell Tuttle, both of Waynesburg, Pa., and seven sisters, Mrs. Jim (Georgie) Cree, Mrs. Ethel Dailey and Mrs. Nellie Harris, all of Waynesburg, Pa.; Mrs. Annabelle Finch and Mrs. Blanche Tennent, both of Aliquippa; Mrs. Jim (Ruth) Taylor, Nemoclin, Pa., and Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Philips, Charleroi, Pa. Irma E. Buchanan, 95, of Lakewood, Ohio, formerly of Aliquippa and Florida, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Born Feb. 21, 1904, in Perrysville, Pa., she was the oldest of 10 children. She was active in the Woodlawn Presbyterian Church and was an avid bridge player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Buchanan. Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Roemer (Mrs. Roy), in Florida, and Joanne Brinkman (John), in Ohio; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Williams, Zelienople, and a sister, Eva Wright, Portland, Ore. Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Mill Creek Presbyterian Church, Hookstown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.
Evora Bromm Buchholz, 92, of Patterson Township, died Monday, March 8, 1999, at her residence. Born July 24, 1906, in New Brighton, she was a homemaker, a member of the Riverview United Methodist Church, and the Wenonah Chapter, 124 O.E.S. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert T. Buchholz, in 1985, and two brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Theodora Roberts, Patterson Township; a granddaughter and her husband, Daphne and Vince Curtis, Pittsburgh, and many nieces and nephews and loving friends.
