Margaret E. Rutter, 75, of Economy Street, Harmony Township, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, in the Sewickley Valley Hospital. Born June 12, 1923, in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of James and Mary Newcomer, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ambridge; Ladies Auxiliary to the Harmony Township Volunteer Fire Department, and the Circle of Friends, Baden, where she served as a member of the Site Council. Surviving are her husband, Thomas N. Rutter, and a daughter and son-in-law, Donna K. and Mark Harding, Freedom. Thomas C. Rylott III, 54, of Beaver Falls, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 1999, surrounded by his devoted wife and family. Born Jan. 27, 1945, in New Brighton, a son of the late Thomas D. Jr. and Lois Kelley Rylott, he was a member of the Salvation Army in Beaver Falls, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. An avid bowler and softball player, he was a former employee of the Beaver County Department of Public Works, and retired in 1992 as a letter carrier from the Beaver Falls Post Office. Surviving are his loving wife, Sandra Wise Rylott; a daughter, Kelley Renee Rylott, and a son, Lance Alworth Rylott, both at home; three brothers, Robert Rylott, in Florida; Dale W. Kelley, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Terry L. Rylott, Beaver Falls, and three sisters, Mrs. William (Toni) Lallement, Rochester; Mrs. Delmas (Pat) Stewart, Ireland, W.Va., and Mrs. Robert (Cheryl) Nagel, Medina, Ohio. Michael Senko, 84, of Ambridge, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, in the Providence Health Center, Beaver Falls. Born May 23, 1914, in Aliquippa, a son of the late Panko and Anna (Capko) Senko, he was a former member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge, and was a retired employee of LTV Steel, Boilerhouse Division, Aliquippa. Mr. Senko is survived by his wife, Julia (Kriel) Senko; a daughter-in-law, Linda Senko, and a granddaughter, Michele Senko, both of Hopewell Township; sisters-in-law, Olga Zawinsky, Baden; Mary Kurylo, Teresa Mann and Janet George, all of Ambridge; brothers-in-law, Michael Gerega and August Mann, both of Ambridge, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dean Senko, in December 1991, and a brother, William Zawinsky. A blessing service was held Thursday in the MATTER-TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME, 1133 Church St., Ambridge. Interment followed in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township.
Hilda M. Shones, 77, formerly of South Heights, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, in Chicago, Ill. Born Aug. 27, 1921, in Burgettstown, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Margaret Diamond Bradley, she was a member of St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church, Wireton. A retired cafeteria worker with Robert Morris College, she was a former member of the South Heights Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Shones, in 1988; two sisters, Julie Kreiger and Catherine Vandergrift, and two brothers, James and Patrick Bradley. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Andrea Shones, Raccoon Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Constance and Thomas Morong, Justice, Ill.; two grandchildren, James Victor Shones and Victor Matthew Shones, and three sisters, Marge Turney, in Missouri; Delores Smith, Glenwillard, and Gertrude Gilchrist, Aliquippa. Eugene G. "Gene" Tabacchi, of Wintersville, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in his home. Born in Parlett, Ohio, a son of the late Peter and Anna Rensi Tabacchi, he was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wintersville, Ohio; American Legion; 69th Division Association; Italian American Cultural Club, and the Sierra Club. A graduate of Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, he retired in 1987 as the editorial page editor of the Beaver County Times, Beaver. He also worked as a newspaperman in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, as well as in coal mines, steel mills and on the family farm. He served in World War II in the 69th Infantry Division in England, France, Belgium and Germany. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert and Frank Tabacchi, and a sister, Alice Cramer. Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Bossick Tabacchi, whom he married Jan. 12, 1952; two sons, Lt. Col. Peter J. Tabacchi, Bamberg, Germany, and Christopher Tabacchi, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Jess (Colleen) Hyde, Shinglehouse, Pa., and Mrs. Henry (Paula) Hughes, Heidelberg, Germany; four sisters, Tracy Rensi and Mrs. John (Anna Frances) Rensi, both of Hopedale, Ohio; Violet Knight, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Ann Tabacchi, Hopedale, Ohio, and nine grandchildren. Mary Dorothy Vojtko Thomas, 88, of Aliquippa, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, in the Rochester Manor Nursing Home, Rochester. Born Jan. 20, 1911, in Homestead, Pa., a daughter of the late Steve and Mary Vojtko, she was a housewife and a resident of Aliquippa for 57 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers, and the First Catholic Ladies Slovak Association. Surviving are her husband, Paul Thomas; a son, Paul G. Thomas and his wife, Iva, Bethesda, Md.; three grandchildren, Stephen Thomas and his wife, Denise, Great Falls, Va.; Michael Thomas and his wife, Julia, Silver Spring, Md., and Janet Thomas, Washington, D.C., and two great-grandchildren, Kaley Thomas and Rachel Thomas, both of Great Falls, Va. Mary Thomas was preceded in death by her beloved son, Armand P. Thomas, on July 7, 1994; a brother, Steve Vojtko, and a sister, Anna Chinchar. Visitation will be private. A service will be conducted Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the DARROCH MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2640 Mill St., Aliquippa, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at noon in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Hopewell Township. Father Gerald Chinchar, her nephew from Dayton, Ohio, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
William S. (Sonny/Hottie) Wanto Sr., 64, of Monaca, died Thursday afternoon, March 11, 1999, in his residence, following a brief illness. Born Aug. 21, 1934, in Bobtown (Green County), Pa., a son of the late John and Susan (Montana) Wanto, he worked the majority of his life at the Aliquippa Works of LTV Steel Corporation and retired from Shiflet Imaging in Aliquippa in 1996. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Monaca, and was a man of devout faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1957 to 1959. Surviving are his wife, Andrea Yakobik Wanto, to whom he was united in marriage on April 26, 1980; seven children and spouses, William Wanto Jr. and his wife, Cindy, Fair Oaks; John Wanto and his wife, Joann, Pittsburgh; Richard Jeffers and his wife, Tracy, Monaca; Carol Wanto Bouchard and her husband, Terry, Pittsburgh; Michelle Wanto Mooney and her husband, Tom, Dormont, Pa.; Melissa Wanto Giegucz and her husband, Mike, Mt. Lebanon; Kathy Ann Jeffers and Angel of Monaca; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, John Wanto, Bobtown; three sisters, Verona Wanto Kish, Parma Heights, Ohio; Dorothy Wanto, Minerva, Ohio, and his twin sister, Mrs. Charles (Sis) McLaughlin, Bobtown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Wanto. Anna Mae "Sis" Williams, 76, of 719 Dale St., Aliquippa, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in her home. Born Oct. 14, 1922, in Americus, Ga., a daughter of the late Jesse and Pearline Clark Turner, she was a resident of Aliquippa for 73 years and was a graduate of Aliquippa High School. She was a former member of the First Church of God in Christ (now Church in the Round) for 40 years, where she was a member of the Good Samaritan Club and the Usher Board. She was a current member of the Christian Lighthouse Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Loffus" William Jr., on March 10, 1996; a daughter, Selma Marie Williams, and a sister, Margie Stevens. William Gerald "Woody" Wood, 70, of Brighton Township, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at his residence. Born Aug. 8, 1928, in New Brighton, a son of the late Orville T. Sr. and Iva Mae (Nicholl) Wood, he worked in the inspection department of the Babcock & Wilcox Company. A Protestant by faith, he was a member of the Highland Area VFW; a former member of the Beaver Falls BPOE 348, and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John E., Cecil E. and Clyde A. Wood. He is survived by a brother, Orville T. Wood, Enon Valley. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CAMPBELL'S CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 2618 Darlington Road, where a service will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev.
