Posted By: GenealogyBuff.com Margaret L. Roscoe Yoko, 85, of Aliquippa, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in the UPMC - Beaver Valley, Aliquippa. Born Nov. 23, 1913, in Braddock, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Orlovich Roscoe, she was a member of St. Titus Roman Catholic Church, Aliquippa, and the Christian Mothers of the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Yoko; three brothers, Victor, John and Chuck Roscoe, and a sister, Helen Stefanosky. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Hilda Yoko, in Colorado; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy "Jeanie" and Richard Rhodes, Aliquippa; Patricia McCracken, New Brighton, and Mary Lee and Michael Duafala, Beaver Falls; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Ann Skiba, Aliquippa. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME INC. at SYLVANIA HILLS MEMORIAL PARK INC., Daugherty Township, where a blessing service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Father Ward Stakem, O.F.M. Cap. will officiate. Private interment
will follow in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Township.
Jane Knighton Adamonis, 77, of Ambridge, died Friday, March 12, 1999, in Sewickley Valley Hospital. Born July 16, 1921, in Ambridge, a daughter of the late Morris and Ina Knighton, she was a member of Good Samaritan Parish St. Veronica Worship Site. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley C. Adamonis, on Aug. 12, 1990. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James and Connie Adamonis, Centerville, Ohio, and two granddaughters, Jill Adamonis, Centerville, Ohio, and Amy Nicole and her husband, Jeff Bender, Glen Allen, Va. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL E. BOHN FUNERAL HOME INC., where a service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Parish St. Veronica Worship Site with the Rev. Father John Skirtich officiating. Interment will follow in Good Samaritan Cemetery, Fair Oaks.
Wilmer "Sparky" J. Adams, 80, of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., died Friday, March 12, 1999, in Hope Hospice of Lee County. Mr. Adams had been a resident of Ft. Myers Beach since 1990 after moving from Ambridge. "Sparky" retired in 1981 after 35 years as a teacher and baseball and basketball coach for the Ambridge Area High School. He was a member of The Church of the Ascension, Ft. Myers Beach, for the past nine years. Surviving are a sister, Ms. Alma M. Adams, Ft. Myers Beach. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date in Ambridge. The family requests that memorial contributions be made, if desired to Hope Hospice, 9740 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, Fla. 33908 or to the charity of one's choice in memory of Mr. Adams.
Naomi Jean Blazak, 70, a lifetime resident of West Mayfield, died Friday, March 12, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Sept. 12, 1928, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late Robert P. and Gladys McGowan Wickline, she was a homemaker; a member of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church, and the His & Hers Bowling League at Sim's Lanes. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Raymond A. Blazak; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond S. and Bonnie Blazak, Chippewa Township; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Constance "Connie" and Lenny Brown, East Palestine, Ohio; Brenda Suppa, Toledo, Ohio; Bobbie and Joe Fleet and Diana and Mike Shrum, all of New Sewickley, ; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, William "Bill" and Vera Wickline, New Windsor, N.Y.; Lysle T. and Molly Wickline, West Mayfield, and James P. Wickline, Beaver Falls; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen Darr, Warren, Ohio; Elinor Jackson, New Brighton, and Betty Lou and Philip McCoy, Conway; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Goodwald, in 1975; a brother, Robert P. "Brick" Wickline, and a grandchild, Kali Marie Biros. Friends will be received in the LUTTON BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 1117 Fifth Ave., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be recited Tuesday at 10:20 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Robert Guay, of Our Lady of Peace, officiating. Entombment will be in Williamsburg Mausoleum, Chippewa Township.
Frank M. Casey, 79, of North Sewickley Township, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in his caretaker's home in Ohioville, following a lengthy illness. Born March 10, 1920, in Big Beaver, a son of the late William and Gertrude (Meyers) Casey, he was a retired conductor for Conrail with 44 years of service. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was an aviator in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Union Lodge F&AM, New Brighton; New Castle Consistory; Beaver County Retired Mens Club, and the BPOE, Rochester. He was also a member of the Trinity Evangelical Church, New Brighton. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor D. (Shroads) Casey; a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Helen Casey, Havertown, Pa., and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received today from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, where services will be held today at 1:30 p.m., with his pastor, the Rev. Robert J. Hartman, officiating. Private interment
will take place in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township. The family suggests memorials be made, in his name, to a charity of the donor's choice.
Lottie Davis, 86, of Beaver Falls, passed away Thursday, March 11, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Aug. 17, 1912, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late John and Rose Moses Davis, she was a member of St. John the Evangelist Orthodox Church, Beaver Falls, and retired in 1977 from the former Westinghouse Electric Corp. as an adjuster after 22 years of service. Surviving are two sisters, Linda Davis, with whom she resided, and Mrs. Mary D. Albert, Canton, Ohio; a niece and nephew, Jeanette and James Tomey, and a great-nephew, Nick Tomey, all of Canton, Ohio; two great-nieces, Sharon Albaugh, Canton, Ohio, and Bette Lou Charles, Pittsburgh, and great-great-nieces and nephew, Melissa and Daniel Albaugh, and Amanda and Nicole Tomey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie and Ethel Davis; nieces, Betty Jane Charles and Adele Albert, and a nephew, Nick Albert. Friends will be received today from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CAMPBELL'S BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 14th Street and Eighth Avenue, where a Trisagion (prayer service) will be conducted Monday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Father Mark Maymon officiating Interment will be in Beaver Falls Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to St. John the Evangelist Orthodox Church, 1501 Eighth Ave., Beaver Falls, Pa. 15010. Trisagion (prayer service) will be held today at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.
Anastasia "Nancy" Dzeryn, 74, of Beaver Road, Ambridge, died Friday, March 12, 1999, in the Sewickley Valley Hospital, following an extended illness. Born May 15, 1924, in the Ukraine, she was a resident of Ambridge for the past 43 years. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge, where she worked on the pirohy project for 17 years, and was a member of the Apostle Ship of Prayer and the UNA Lodge 161, Ambridge. Surviving are her husband, Michael Dzeryn; a brother, Steve Pchenko, and two sisters, Sophie Plchuk and Anne Dwulek, all in Poland, and many nieces and nephews in Poland. She was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas Pchenko, and a sister, Rose Furmankevich, both who died in Poland. Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a service will be conducted Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Church with her pastor, Father Michael Polosky, officiating. Brial will follow in the church Cemetery, Economy Borough. Parastas will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Betty Fritz, 79, of Brighton Township, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Complete arrangements will be announced in Monday's Times by the ZURIK FUNERAL HOME, Corner of Second and Market Streets, Beaver.
Mary J. Gregorek, 94, of Ambridge, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, in the Sewickley Valley Hospital. Born Sept. 6, 1904, she was a member of the Good Samaritan Parish St. Veronica Worship Site and was member of the former C.D.A. Court 777 and the former St. Veronica Women's Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Gregorek, in July 1973, and a daughter, Catherine Walko, on July 28, 1988. Surviving are a son, Stephen Gegorek, Butler, Pa.; a grandson, Greg Walko, Ambridge; a granddaughter, Margo Edwards, in Hawaii; a great-grandson, Logan, in Hawaii, and a niece, Ann Painter, Bairdsford, Pa. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL E. BOHN FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Complete funeral arrangements will be announced in Monday's Times.
Margaret W. Hassell, 91, of Warren, Ohio, died Friday, March 12, 1999, in Youngstown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer H. Hassell. Surviving are a son, Gordon E. Hassell, Warren; two granddaughters, and seven great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 33 N. Arlington, Niles, Ohio 44446. The SAMPLE-O'DONNELL FUNERAL HOME, Sharon, Pa., is in charge of arrangements.
