Born Jan. 13, 1922, in New Brighton, a son of the late Frank T. and Catherine Skorupa Romanchak, he was a member of St. Felix Roman Catholic Church, Freedom; Circle of Friends, Baden; Civilian Conservations Corps, Slaggo, Pa., and Construction and General Laborers Local 833, New Brighton, with whom he was a construction foreman during his working years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Ramsey Romanchak, on Jan. 12, 1987; a son, William T. Romanchak, on May 1, 1996; three brothers, Nick, John and Joseph Romanchak, and four sisters, Anna, Ann, Margaret and Katie. Surviving are his one and only daughter with whom he resided, Pamela Kay Romanchak Byrne, New Sewickley Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Sylvia Romanchak, Daugherty Township; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Killeen, Rochester; Helen Romanchak, New Brighton, and Rose and John Bable, Vanport; a sister-in-law, Helen Romanchak, Daugherty Township; numerous nieces and nephews, and his two beloved and faithful dogs, Tank and Snoopy. Friends will be welcome today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in BATCHELOR BROTHERS ROCHESTER, 378 Jefferson St. at Ohio Avenue, where prayers will be offered Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Felix Roman Catholic Church, Freedom. Father Leon Leitem, O.F.M. Cap. will officiate. Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Martha (Pickard) Rombold, 93, of New Brighton, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in The Medical Center, Beaver. Born Dec. 2, 1905, in New Brighton, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Anne Kenworthy Pickard. She was a member of the New Sewickley Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Rombold; a great-granddaughter, Christy Rambo; a brother, Bert Pickard, and a sister, Mary Yeager. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Clarence J. and Martha Rombold, North Sewickley Township, and Edward Rombold, Brighton Township; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorotha J. Rambo, Brighton Township, and Shirley and Robert Bradshaw, North Sewickley Township; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, John Wilford Pickard, Harmony, Pa.; two sisters, Ora Miller, North Sewickley Township, and Helen Bonzo, Harmony, Pa., and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME INC. at SYLVANIA HILLS MEMORIAL PARK INC., Daugherty Township, where a service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. Her pastor, Ronald Kronk, will officiate. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Inc., Daugherty Township.
Steve Voynick, 79, of Reno, Nev., died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Washoe Medical Center, Reno, Nev., following an extended illness. Born May 30, 1919, in Aliquippa, a son of the late George and Susan Sachac, he was employed as a television technician with Montgomery Ward for 30 years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Griffin, Reno, and Nancy Ferguston, Portland, Ore.; three sisters, Bertha Todd, in Georgia; Helen Katcher, Baden, and Elizabeth Coss, Ambridge; his present companion of seven years, Lucille Compton; his first wife, Verna Voynick and his second wife, Anita Voynick. Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME, 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where a funeral service will be conducted Saturday at noon with the Rev. Father William Evansky officiating. Interment will be in St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cemetery, Hopewell Township.
William J. Weisner, 89, a lifelong resident of Coraopolis, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in his residence. Born Feb. 17, 1909, in Coraopolis, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Scharl) Weisner. William attended Carnegie Mellon University and was employed by Pittsburgh DeMoines Steel Company. He was active in many civic organizations for many years. He was Chairman of the local Community Chest, now known as the United Way; President of the Coraopolis Exchange Club, and Treasurer of the Coraopolis Kiwanis Club and of the Coraopolis Memorial Library. He was a member of the Board Management of the Coraopolis Y.M.C.A.; Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Beaver Lakes Country Club and the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church, Coraopolis. He is survived by his wife, Angela (Wodisch) Weisner, Coraopolis. He was the father of William B. Weisner and his wife, Janet, Columbus, Ohio, and Susan (Weisner) and her husband, Richard Klixbull, Osborne, Pa.; the brother of Anthony Weisner, Moon Township, and the grandfather of six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, Frank Weisner and Josephine Conley. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the COPELAND CORAOPOLIS FUNERAL HOME, 867 Fifth Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at noon in St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Jean E. Weyand, 89, of the Providence Health Care Center, Beaver Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in the Providence Health Care Center. Born May 15, 1909, in Monaca, a daughter of the late Wilbert C. and Jennie Murray Davis, she had been a resident of Beaver since 1932. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Beaver and the Rebekah Lodge 226 and was a former volunteer at The Medical Center, Beaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl J. Weyand, on Feb. 24, 1991; a daughter, Carol J. Shanholtz, on Sept. 6, 1988, and a great-granddaughter, Michelle Shanholtz, in 1990. Surviving are three sons, Charles A., Kenneth P., and James C. Weyand, all of Beaver; a daughter, Ruth Ann Cornelius, Ellwood City; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mary Louise Dean, Beaver Falls, and Helen Dias, Boardman, Ohio. A service will be conducted today at 11 a.m. in the TODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third St., Beaver, by her minister, the Rev. Mark Litten. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made, if desired, to a favorite charity.
Julia Young, formerly of Byersdale, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in St. Petersburg, Fla. Surviving are two sisters, Anna Dame, Houston, Texas, and Helen Webb, Ambridge, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at 2:30 p.m. in the Ambridge United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. John B. Dickey officiating. Peter Belic, 88, of Rochester Township, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, in the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center, Brighton Township. Born June 2, 1910, in Johnstown, Pa., a son of the late Stanley and Petra Belic, he was a retired bricklayer from St. Joe Minerals, Potter Township. He was a former 25-year member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Rochester, and was a member of Local 8183, United Steelworkers of America. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Yolanda M. Furgiuele Belic; five sons and a daughter-in-law, Peter Belic, San Antonio, Texas; Ronald and Ann Belic, Enon, Ohio; Donald Belic, Tampa, Fla.; David Belic, in Ohio, and Michael Belic, Holiday, Fla.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Charlotte Lenore and Ronald Bigler, Austin, Texas, and Pamela Sue Powers, Clearwater, Fla., and a brother, Adam Suzeivich, McKeesport. He will be fondly missed by his 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Lorenzo, Gladys Brlecti and Ann Otto, and a brother, Steven Suzeivich. Services were held Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester. The Rev. Wayne Gillespie, assistant pastor of the Grace Lutheran Church, officiated. Entombment followed in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum.
Charles D. Brady Sr., 70, of Ohioville, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at his residence. Born Dec. 10, 1928, in Braddock, Pa., a son of the late Charles F. and Susan C. McMullen Brady, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had been a bricklayer for U.S. Steel Company for 33 years, retiring in 1982, and had worked at the Edgar Thompson Works and at the Clairton Works. Surviving are his wife, Estella Marie Coll Brady; three sons and their wives, Charles D. Jr. and Cathy Brady, Bristol, Va.; Walter F. and Jane Brady, Imperial, and Brian K. and Laura Brady, Ambridge; three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Donna) Pruss, Douglasville, Pa.; Mrs. Robert (Marie) Johnston, Crafton, and Suellen Brady and David, Ohioville; six grandchildren, Sara and Brandon Pruss, Jonathan Brady, Nicole Brady, Candi Brady, and Charles D. Brady III; a sister, Rose Mitchell, Zelienople, and three brothers, George Brady, Bradford, Pa.; Gerald Brady, Slickville, Pa., and Lee Brady, in Maryland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel, William and James Brady, and a sister, Freda Galli. Lyndon A. Brewer, 44, of Pulaski Township, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999. Born May 24, 1954, in New Brighton, a son of Robert Brewer, Pulaski Township, and the late Patricia Burson Brewer, he was a member of the New Brighton Christian Assembly. In addition to his father, he is survivd by two brothers, Michael Brewer, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Timothy Brewer, Beaver Falls, and two sisters, Susan Brewer, Dayton, Ohio, and Sharon Kelly, Beaver Falls. Mary Budinko, 87, formerly of Harmony Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in Villa St. Joseph, Baden, where she had been a resident for 1½ years. Born May 26, 1911, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Plasko Phillips, she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Ambridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Budinko, and two brothers, Joseph F. Phillips and Henry J. Phillips. Surviving are a son, Robert and his wife, Vickie Budinko, Upland, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Doris) Fields, Baden; three grandchildren, Eric, Ryan and Greg Budinko, all of Glendora, Calif.; a brother, James C. Phillips, Pittsburgh; a sister, Emma P. Lawrence, Bellevue, and four sisters-in-law, Mary L. Phillips, North Hills; Mary M.
