Murton, Bobbie J.
Bobbie J. Murton, 57, of Patterson Township, died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, in the Oakland VA Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Sept. 24, 1943, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Edna R. Depner Murton, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired foreman from the Babcock & Wilcox Company. He was a member of the Turners, Owls, American Legion and BPO Elks Lodge 348, all of Beaver Falls.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Patricia M. Tabay Murton; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark D. and Michele Murton, in Turkey; a daughter, Deanna M. Murton, at home; four brothers, Floyd Murton, Chippewa Township; Raymond Murton, Chicago, Ill.; Richard Murton, in Saudi Arabia, and Chris Murton, Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Norma Soisson, College Hill, Beaver Falls; Sandy Chalfant, in Arkansas, and Shirley Mellor, in Texas, and a grandson, Colin.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Murton.
Friends will be received today from 1 to 9 p.m. in the LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Road. A private blessing service will be held Friday.
Private entombment will be in Beaver Falls Mausoleum.
Morningstar, Carl L.
Carl L. Morningstar, 96, of 1777 Braceville Robinson Road, Braceville, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at 5:20 p.m. in Shepherd of the Valley, Niles, Ohio.
Born Dec. 17, 1904, in Entriken, Pa., he was a son of the late William and Margaret McCray Morningstar. He married Stella Grubb in 1935 and she passed away in April 1979. He then married Fern (Hess) Ford and she survives.
He has lived in Southington since 1999, formerly of Maytown, Pa. He worked as a miner and a carpenter and also for J&L Steel for 15 years, retiring in 1972. He was a former member of the CCC (Civil Conservation Core) during the Roosevelt Era. He was a member of the Brothern Church in Saxton. He liked to hunt deer and small game, and enjoyed woodworking, crafts, gardening and horticulture.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Freida Crownover and Ketturah Ellen Morningstar, and his brothers, Charles, John, Jesse and Elvin Morningstar.
Surviving are his wife, Fern Morningstar, Maytown, Pa.; two sons, Donald G. Morningstar, Braceville, Ohio, and Cletus L. Morningstar, Austintown, Ohio; a foster daughter, Marlene Hale, Palmyra, N.J.; three sisters, Alice Ramsey, Aliquippa; Florence Everhart, College Park, Md., and Aloneda Dix, in Florida; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Messiah Lutheran Church on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at 2 p.m., where friends may call one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in Entriken Cemetery in Pennsylvania on Monday, Feb. 5, 2001.
Memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to the Salvation Army.

Mecchia, Gloria N.
Gloria N. Mecchia, 75, of Conway, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born Nov. 22, 1925, in Conway, a daughter of the late Angelo and Olga Solero Mecchia, she was retired from Spiegel's in the Northern Lights Shopping Center, Baden, where she was the Office Manager. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Conway.
Miss Mecchia is survived by one brother, Robert Mecchia, and two sisters, Dorothy Radovic and Kathleen Landess, all of Conway, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the POLAND FUNERAL HOME INC., 901 First Ave., Conway, where a prayer service will be conducted Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Conway.
Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Freedom.
McConnell, Margaret H. Rohm
Margaret H. Rohm McConnell, 85, of Hopewell Township, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in the Sewickley Valley Hospital.
Born Aug. 24, 1915, in Independence Township, a daughter of the late Alvin Dorsey and Adda May Creese Rohm, she was a member of the New Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. McConnell, in 1996, and a brother, Lester Rohm.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Mercadante, Moon Township, and Carolyn Doycich, Hopewell Township; five grandchildren, Gary, John and Ronnie Paul Mercadante, Lisa Danylo, and Lori Doycich, and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. in the HUNTSMAN ALIQUIPPA FUNERAL HOME, 2345 Mill St. The Rev. Dr. A. Gary Angleberger, interim pastor of the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

Lesnick, Virginia
Virginia Lesnick, 89, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of New York City and Beaver Falls, died January 22, 2001, in Boca Raton Community Hospital, Boca Raton, Fla.
Born April 19, 1911, in Beaver Falls, a daughter of the late Stanley and Teophilia Sadowska Lesnick, she was a retired manager from the Hilton Hotel in New York City and was a member of St. Patrick Cathedral, New York City. She was named Beaver Falls Culture Girl in 1929.
Surviving are a brother, Charles Lesnick, Beaver Falls; two sisters, Violet McCart, New Castle, and Dorothy Crowl, Stroudsburg, Pa.; four nephews, William Carver, New Brighton; Robert Crowl and William Crowl, both of Stroudsburg, and Thomas Lesnick, Beaver Falls; a niece, Virginia Craig, in California, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Robert Lesnick; two sisters, Sophie Carver and Jane Cordell; a nephew, Kenneth Carver, and a great-nephew, Larry Carver.
Friends will be received Friday from 9 a.m. until time of blessing service at 11 a.m. in the LUTTON BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 1117 Fifth Ave.
Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
Landles, Edith J.
Edith J. Landles, 80, of New Galilee, formerly of South Beaver Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in The Medical Center, Beaver.
Born July 3, 1920, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William J. and Blanche Coleman Jordan, she was a former employee of Pittsburgh Bridge & Iron and Rockwell International. She was co-owner and operator with her husband in Joseph P. Landles General Contracting. She was an active member of Steffin Hill United Presbyterian Church and was a former Lioness with the Chippewa Area Lions Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. "Scotty" Landles, in 1989.
Surviving are a son, Stewart W. Landles, Center Township; a daughter, Heather Watson, with whom she resided; a grandson, Joseph Richard Landles; three granddaughters, Renee Lynn Landles, Christy Marie Landles and BreAnne Rose Landles; two sisters, Helen Smith, Monroeville, and Alice Harbaugh, in California; beloved cousins, Wesley and Dorothy Braun, Belfont, Pa., and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until time of service at 8 p.m. in the CAMPBELL'S CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME, 2618 Darlington Road. The Rev. Judith Angleberger will officiate.

Komara, Steve R.
Steve R. Komara, 79, of Crystal River, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at his home.
He was born to Anna and John Komara on Sept. 3, 1921, in Gahagan, Pa. He moved to Florida from Midland 15 years ago. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and had also worked for the Crucible Steel Co., Midland. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Crystal River. He played pro baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies. A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Anthony Club. He was active in the Hospice of Citrus County Bereavement Group.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Komara, in 1999; a sister, Emma Capuano, and a brother, Rudy Komara.
Surviving are seven children, Stephen and Marian Komara, Seminole, Fla.; John and Suzanne Komara, Ruidoso, N.M.; Thomas and Rita Komara, Springfield, Va.; Bernard and Valerie Komara, Crystal River, Fla.; Pauline and James Sheey, Bellevue, Ky.; Raymond and Sandra Komara, Ormond Beach, Fla., and William and Kristi Komara, Hendersonville, N.C.; a brother, John Komara, Bayshore, N.Y.; three sisters, Jean Jenario, Hollis, N.Y.; Frances Feltington, Bayside, N.Y., and Esther Pekarick, New Hyde Park, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Kisic, Joseph
Joseph Kisic, 82, of New Brighton and a resident of Outlook Pointe, South Beaver, for the past four years, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in The Medical Center, Beaver.
Born April 5, 1918, in Bolivar, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Voljak) Kisic, he retired in 1980 from the Burroughs Corporation/Unisys, where he was a field engineer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post 19 and Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, both of New Brighton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie Kisic, in September 1994, and three brothers, John, Michael and Charles Kisic.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Nancy Kisic, Daugherty Township; four grandchildren, Gregg Kisic, Highspire, Pa.; Leigh Ann Kisic, Brighton Township; Wendy and her husband, Vince Farelli, Daugherty Township, and Bryan and his wife, Laura Kisic, South Beaver Township; six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Brittany, Zachary, Nicholas, Dylan and Jacob; a brother, Edward Kisic, Beaver Falls, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the J&J SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1612 Third Ave., New Brighton, where prayers will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James R. Orr officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Brighton.
Vigil prayers will be held Friday at 7:15 p.m. in the funeral home.
Kaurich, Joseph 'Joso'
Joseph "Joso" Kaurich, 63, a lifelong resident of Aliquippa, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at his residence.
Born Nov. 17, 1937, in Aliquippa, a son of the late Janko and Mary Kaurich, he was a member of St. Titus Catholic Church, Aliquippa, and the Croatian Fraternal Union. He was retired from J&L Steel and recently retired from Ogden Aviation.
Surviving are a brother, Stephen Kaurich and his wife, Julie, Center Township; a sister, Anna Parker, Akron, Ohio; three nieces, Christine DiBenedetto and her husband, James, Aliquippa; Gloria Anderson and her husband, Tom, West Grove, Pa., and Joyce Crumbo and her husband, Ron, Alexandria, Va., and a godson, James C. DiBenedetto, Aliquippa.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Kaurich.
Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DARROCH MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2640 Mill St., Aliquippa, where a service will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Titus Church.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
Kalabokes, Paul
Paul Kalabokes, 82, of Ambridge, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in the Atrium Nursing Home, Robinson Township.
Born May 26, 1918, in Ambridge, a son of the late Chris and Pauline Kalabokes, he owned and operated Cal's Body Shop, Ambridge. He was a member of the Ambridge Youth Association, the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, and was an active member in various church organizations. He was a U.S. Marine World War II veteran where he received the Purple Heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Kalabokes, on May 3, 1999; a daughter, Evonne Kalabokes Blazier; three brothers, George, Nick and Peter Kalabokes, and two sisters, Dolores Mangos and Affie Kalabokes.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Cathy Kalabokes, Harmony Township, and Chris and Vicki Kalabokes, San Rafael, Calif.; five grandchildren, Lisa, Sarah, Rachael, Andrea and Katherine Kalabokes; a great-grandson, Matthew; a brother and sister-in-law, Dino and Angie Kalabokes, in Virginia; three sisters-in-law, Florence, Kathryn and Jenny Kalabokes, all of Ambridge, and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the PAUL E. BOHN FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge. Additional viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at 11:15 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, followed by a service at 11:45 a.m. with the Rev. Father Elias Katras officiating.
Interment will follow in Economy Cemetery.
Trisagion service will be held today at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
The Beaver County Special Unit will conduct full military rites at 12:30 p.m. at the Cemetery.
