Alfonso F. Vlasic Sr., 83, of Harmony Township, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 31, 2001, in Sewickley Valley Hospital.
Born Dec. 4, 1917, in Ambridge, a son of Mary Vlasic, Ambridge, and the late John Vlasic, he along with his father and brother, owned and operated John Vlasic & Sons Wholesale Grocery, Ambridge, for over 35 years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Good Samaritan Parish Holy Trinity Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine (Mutz) Vlasic; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Al and Janet Vlasic, Harmony Township, and John Vlasic, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Russell Vlasic and his wife, Jill, and Ryan Vlasic, all of Manassas, Va.; Courtney Markowski and her husband, Bryan, Ashburn, Va.; Christopher Vlasic, Tampa, Fla., and Jonathan Vlasic, Baden; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Dolores Vlasic, Harmony Township; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Ann and John Szmoniak, Economy, and Mrs. Isabelle Caul, Harmony Township.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Vlasic, and two sisters, Geneievie Arch and Victoria Hodnick.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the PAUL E. BOHN FUNERAL HOME INC., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, where a service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Church, Ambridge.
The Rev. Father Ken Keene will officiate.
Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Wagner, Robert E.
Robert E. Wagner, 50, of Big Beaver, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at his residence.
Born Feb. 26, 1950, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Clair and Anne Pisano Wagner, he was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School, Class of 1968. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he retired from Republic Engineered Technologies in 1998 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Beaver Falls Sportsman Club and the Beaver County Conservation League. He loved to fish and was an avid hunter.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Sherry L. Caler Wagner; a son and his fiancee, Jarrett Wagner and Nicole Simpson, Big Beaver; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Joseph Gist, Denison, Texas, and a nephew, Seth Gist, Denison.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the HILL & KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where a service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Jim Tubbs, pastor of the Chippewa United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township.
The Veterans Honor Guard will conduct full military rites at the Cemetery.

Westfall, Mary Kathryn
Mary Kathryn Westfall, 83, of Brighton Township, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, Feb. 1, 2001, at her daughter's home in Ohioville, following an extended illness.
Born Sept. 22, 1917, in Waverly, W.Va., a daughter of the late Oscar and Rosa Haas Rowley, she had been a resident of Brighton Township for 50 years. She retired in 1981 as a nurse's aide at the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center after 17 years of service. She was a member of the Beaver United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Dana C. "Dan" Westfall; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Richard Hohman, Ohioville; three grandchildren, Richard II, Julia and Kathryn Hohman; a brother, Frank Rowley, Ohioville, and four sisters, Lucille DeLancey, Beulah Siers and Betty Westbrook, all of Waverly, W.Va., and Mildred Null, Parkersburg, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Anne Westfall, in 1968; four brothers, Delbert, Herbert, George and Richard Rowley, and a sister, Grace Heckert.
Friends will be received Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. in the J.T. ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 205 College Ave., Beaver. Her pastor, the Rev. Ralph P. Cotton, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township.

Aquino, Assunta 'Suzy'
Assunta "Suzy" Aquino, 74, of Beaver Falls, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, in her residence.
Born Jan. 19, 1927, in Mendicino, Italy, a daughter of the late Louis and Maria DeRose Gaudio, she was a housekeeper in domestic service. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and the Ladies Guild, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and L.C.B.A.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Aquino, in 1982.
Surviving are two brothers, Giuseppe Gaudio, in Italy, and Salvatore Gaudio, in France; two sisters, Elvira Gaudio and Angela Greco, both of London, England, and seven nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 9:30 a.m. in the SPRATT FUNERAL HOME, 1901 Seventh Ave., BEAVER FALLS. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Divine Mercy Parish, Beaver Falls, with her pastor, the Rev. Donald R. Bischof, officiating.

Brewer Sr., Richard J. 'Jack'
Richard J. "Jack" Brewer Sr., 77, of Rochester Township, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, in The Medical Center, Beaver.
Born Nov. 11, 1923, in Rochester, a son of the late Lawrence J. and Mildred Littell Brewer, he was a retired millwright from St. Joe Minerals, Potter Township, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Rochester Masonic Lodge 229 F&AM; New Castle Consistory; Schmidts Golf League, and the Saturday Night Couples Bowling League, Baden. He was also a starter at Stonecrest Golf Course in Wampum. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bonnie Lynn, and a granddaughter, Melanie.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Catherine "Kay" Benson Brewer; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rick J. and Kathie Brewer, Chippewa Township; Gary and Terri Brewer, Cranberry Township, and Dennis and Brenda Brewer, New Brighton; 10 grandchildren, Amy, D.J., Kelli, Jaime, Tim, Michael, Chad, Nicole, Kari and Zachary; a great-granddaughter, Rylee; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Ruth Brewer, Chippewa Township, and a sister, Mrs. Meda McGarvey, Louisville, Ky.

Burns, Robert Emmett
Robert Emmett Burns, 91, formerly of Ridge Road Extension, Baden, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, in St. Francis Hospital, Cranberry Township, following an extended illness.
Born Feb. 10, 1909, he was a son of the late William and Stella Charleston Burns. A lifelong resident of Economy, he retired in 1972 from H.H. Robertson Company, Ambridge. He was a member of the Rehoboth Lutheran Church, Economy, and Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1365, Ambridge.
Surviving are his wife, Mary J. Bohi Burns; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Gary Colonna, Economy, and two grandchildren, Michael and Lauren Colonna, Economy.
Mr. Burns will lie in state Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the Rehoboth Lutheran Church. The Rev. Anthony J. Schneck, pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Baden, will officiate.
Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Daugherty Township.

Curenton, Randy Melvin
Randy Melvin Curenton, 42, of 15873 Ridgebrook, Romulus, Mich., formerly of Aliquippa, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in Harper Hospital, Detroit, Mich., after an extended illness of bone marrow cancer. Randy fought a good fight until the Lord called him Home.
Born Nov. 23, 1958, in Aliquippa, a son of the late Robert and Alvoide Curenton, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at the Bethel Baptist Church, Aliquippa. He graduated from Aliquippa High School and continued his education at the New Castle School of Trade. Randy was a quiet person who enjoyed fishing, barbecuing and spending time with his family and friends. He was employed at Meier Inc., Taylor, Mich., and the Detroit Free Press.
He leaves to mourn his death his devoted fiancee, Diane Jackson, and her daughter, Keshia, and her son, Lamar; four sisters, Mable Jones and Rose Curenton, both of Romulus, Mich., and Darlene Pharr and Alice Wise, Aliquippa; two brothers, Robert Curenton Jr., Coraopolis, and Kenneth Curenton, Aliquippa; four brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Sterling Jones, Detroit, Mich.; Ralph Jr., Romulus, Mich., and George Wise and Louis Pharr, Aliquippa, and Mary Curenton, Coraopolis; nieces and nephews, Julia, Melladonna, Antonia, Christine, Kiesha, Candice, Mara, Rakia, Shandanice and Autumn; nephews, Eric, Damario, Khalid and Ron; his grandmother, Sally Curenton, Union, S.C.; five aunts, Mae Ruth Owensby, Atlanta, Ga.; Estella Curenton, Lilly Mae Curenton and Lucy (Raymond) Brock, all of Aliquippa, and Mary J. Datz, Nellie 'Tootsie'
Nellie "Tootsie" Datz, 72, formerly of Ambridge, died Jan. 24, 2001, in Florida.
Born Nov. 27, 1928, in Ambridge, a daughter of the late Frank and Eva Rudowsky Stacy, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Datz, and four sisters.
Surviving is a brother, Paul Stacy.
Burial was in Economy Cemetery.

Irene Fedorko, 75, of Harmony Township, died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, in her home.
Born July 28, 1925, in Ambridge, a daughter of the late Anthony and Veronica Dembska Szczepanski, she was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, Ambridge. She was a former employee of Kroger's and a retired worker in the Highland School cafeteria.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, John Fedorko; two sons, Dennis Fedorko, Leetsdale, and Kenneth Fedorko, Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Joyce Stauffer, Raccoon Township; eight grandchildren, Courtney and Justin Stauffer, New Castle, Pa.; Ian Stauffer, Raccoon Township; Brandon, Patrick and Mitchell Fedorko, Oakdale, and Brandi and T.J. Fedorko, Las Vegas, Nev., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Felix Szczepanski and Bruno Stepanski.

Feryance, Martha E.
Martha E. Feryance, 87, of The Holmstad, Batavia, Ill., formerly of Rockford, Ill., Lockport, Ill, and Chicago, Ill., passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at the Michealsen Health Care Center, Batavia.
Born March 2, 1913, in New Brighton, a daughter of the late John and Susan (Majzlik) Sochor, she was united in marriage to Michael Feryance on June 4, 1938, in Monaca. Mrs. Feryance was a school teacher from 1954 until 1971 in Lockport and from 1972 until 1976 in Rockford. She was a member of the Shiloh Evangelical Free Church, Rockford. Among her many interests, she enjoyed working in her flower garden, cooking, entertaining family members and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Feryance, in 1971; a sister, Gertrude Sedjo, in 2000, and a great-granddaughter, Kathleen Sue Moe.
Surviving are two sons, Milton (Sharon) Feryance, St. Charles, Ill., and Dwight (Sue) Feryance, Tamarac, Fla.; two grandchildren, Dawn (Dave) Moe, Avon, Colo., and Daniel Joel Feryance, Arlington Heights, Ill.; two great-granddaughters, Amber and Shanna Moe, and her sisters and brothers, Zelma Lyons, Beaver; John (Thelma) Sochor, Monaca; Ben Sochor, Monaca; Mary Sochor, Moneta, Va.; Fred (Esther) Sochor, Clinton Township, Mich.; Lydia Sochor, Rocky Mount, Va., and Ida (Rev.
