Services were held for Robert D. Rhoads, 77, who died June 23 in his residence at Main St., Oley. He was the husband of Margaret M. (Hilbert) Rhoads. Born in Douglass Township, he was employed as a farmer most of his life. He worked for 20 years for St. Lawrence Dairy, Muhlenberg Township. He later worked for six years in the maintenance department at Oley Valley School District. Rhoads was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Spangsville. He is also survived by a daughter, Barbara J. (Rhoads) Obarow, Oley Township. Other survivors include a sister, Ruth (Rhoads) Hertzog, and a brother, Ralph Rhoads, both of Douglass Township. There are also two grandchildren. KATE HULTSLANDER LOUGHERY
A memorial service was held for Kate Hultslander Loughery, 27, of Malvern and formerly of Perkiomenville, who died June 14 in Charenton-Le-Pont, France, from injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of Frank W. and Barbara B. (Watters) Hultslander of Perkiomenville. She was a 1991 graduate of Boyertown Area High School. She was employed in an administrative position for Sunguard, Inc. of Malvern. Currently she was in her junior year at West Chester University where she was majoring in secondary education with an English major. Surviving in addition to her parents are a son, Clayton A. Loughery of Malvern; two sisters, Lauren A. Hultslander Hill of Camden, N.Y., and Adrienne L. Hultslander of Perkiomenville; and paternal grandparents, Frank L. and Jean A. Hultslander of Landsdale. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Helen Watters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clayton A. A memorial service was held for Karen Jeanne Ehrenzeller, 48, of Manassas, Va., who died in Annaburg Manor. She was the daughter of the late Alvin H. Fisher Jr., MD., formerly of Boyertown. She was a volunteer at Mullen Elementary School, Manassas, and a member of the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg. Surviving are her husband, Thomas P. Ehrenzeller; a son, Tommy of Manassas; her parents, Clyde and Claire E. (Fisher) McIntryre, formerly of Bechtelsville, now Harrisburg; and a brother, Scott McIntyre of Raleigh, N.C. In addition to the first memorial service, a later one will be held at 10 a.m., July 1 in Fort Hunter Park, Susquehanna Twp. The Lee Funeral Home, handled the arrangements.

Services were held for Sarah K. (Graber) Ditscher, 90, widow of Reinhold Ditscher, of ManorCare Health Services, Pottstown, formerly of Boyertown, who died June 14 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Boyertown, she was employed as a second grade teacher with the Boyertown Area School District until her retirement in 1973. She was a volunteer for 20 years at various local convalescent homes. She was a graduate of Boyertown High school and a 1932 graduate of Kutztown University. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boyertown. She is survived by one son, Walter E. Ditscher of Birdsboro and two grandchildren. A memorial service was held for Leslie Stephen, 92, of the Montgomery County Geriatric and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Providence, and formerly of North Hanover Street, Pottstown, who died June 14 at the center. He was the husband of Lillian A. (Christman) Stephen. Born in Colebrookdale Township, he was a die castings inspector at the former Doehler-Jarvis Industries, Pottstown, for 45 years until he retired. Other survivors include a daughter, Mildred G., widow of Robert Boughter, of Boyertown; a son, Donald L. Stephen, of Spring City; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services were held for Dennis K. Rubright Jr., 29, of Chestnut Street, Spring City, formerly of Boyertown, who died June 11 at Phoenixville Hospital. Rubright died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of Bonnie K. (Miller) and Dennis K. Rubright Sr., of Indian Lane, Boyertown. A graduate of Boyertown Area Senior High School, he also attended the Pennsylvania Business Institute, formerly the Lansdale School of Business, where he earned a Certificate Degree in Computer Programming. He had been employed as a store manager at Dollar Bonanza, Royersford, for the past three years. Rubright was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Living Waters, Boyertown. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Denise M., wife of Stephen J. Geiger, of Phoenixville; and his maternal grandparents, Earl B. and Lorraine A. (Mest) Bartman, of Pottstown. Services were held for Florence C. (Bush) Koch, 78, widow of Victor E. Koch, of Greshville Road, Boyertown, who died June 13 in her residence. Born in Boyertown, she was an active member of St. Paul’s Church, Stowe, where she was also a member of the Senior Citizens. She is survived by one daughter, Janet K., wife of Paul Fisher, of Jeanette, Westmoreland County and one granddaughter. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, and three sisters. A Memorial service was held for Joseph Ralph Shuler, 97, husband of Ruth (Potter) Shuler, of Oaktree Court, Frederick, who died June 15. Born in Norristown, he attended Norristown High School. Mr. and Mrs. Shuler had celebrated 78 years of marriage. Shuler was a third generation jeweler, and owned Shuler Inc., 325 DeKalb St., Norristown, for 48 years. He was a member of the National Retail Jewelers Association, the Norristown Chamber of Commerce, and the Norristown Lions Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Webster, South Port, Maine; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents and one daughter, Betty Ruth Webster. Burial will be private.

Services were held for Florence (Snell) Krause, 88, widow of James O. Krause, of North Walnut Street and Highland Street, Boyertown, who died June 16 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Born in New Hanover Township, she was a graduate of Boyertown High School, class of 1929. Krause was employed as a secretary by the Boyertown Area School District, in the cafeteria, transportation, and building and grounds departments. Prior to that, she was employed as a secretary for 15 years by the former Fashion Hosiery, Boyertown. A member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boyertown, she was a long-time member of the church choir. She was also a member of W.E.L.C.A., a women’s organization at the church; a member of the Golden Age Club, Boyertown; a member of the Golden Age Chorus, Boyertown. She is survived by a son, Gerald L. Krause, Royersford; a daughter, Kathleen R., wife of Dana M. Smith, Perkiomenville; two sisters, Erma, widow of John U. Renninger, Boyertown, and Edith, widow of Paul Grimm, Lititz; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 45 N. Services were held for Myrtle E. (Hess) Frederick, 75, widow of Stanley C. Frederick, of East High Street, Pottstown, and formerly of East Fourth Street, Boyertown, who died June 16 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Earl Township, she was employed by Cooper Industries, Boyertown, for 29 years, until 1985. Frederick was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ, where she also helped several of the ladies groups. Surviving are dear friends Delores and William Frederick, Boyertown.
