Services were held for Uriah H. Correll, 85, of Cottonwood Lane, Alsace Township, who died Sept. 7 in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Muhlenberg Township, where he had been a resident for one day.
He was the husband of Eva C. (Roth) Correll.
Born in Andrews, Schuylkill County, he had been employed for 28 years as a knitter by Berkshire Knitting Mills, Wyomissing, and was last employed for 10 years by Green Lane Hosiery, Montgomery County, retiring as a foreman in 1980.
Correll was an Army veteran in World War II.
He was a life member of American Legion Post 0622, Laureldale, and of the Pike Township Sportsman’s Association.
Correll is also survived by a daughter, Anna Mae (Correll) Luckenbill, Bernville; a son, Gene N., Robesonia; and two stepsons, Gene A. Hillegass, Reading, and Glenn J. Hillegass, Oley.
Other survivors include a sister, Hermie (Correll) Forry, Robesonia, and a brother, Willard A., Exeter Township.
There are also three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and five great-grandsons.
The Auman Funeral Home, Reiffton, handled the arrangements.
ETHEL I. MERCER
Services were held for Ethel I. Mercer, 81, widow of Albert M. Mercer, of North Berks Street, Boyertown, who died in the Phoenixville Hospital, where she had been a patient.
Born in Pottstown, she was a 1937 graduate of Boyertown High School and was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boyertown.
Mercer was a past Noble Grand of the former Laura Rebecca Lodge 593, Boyertown; past District Deputy of District 7 (Rebecca Lodges); member of Our Lady of Colfax Lodge 182, I.O.O.F., Leesport; life member of the Boyertown Democratic Club; charter member of the Boyertown Historical Society; volunteer for Mothers March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society; Girl Scout cookie chairwoman for many years; life member of Penn Live Streamers, Rahns; former Judge of Elections for the First District in Boyertown; volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels; volunteer driver for the American Red Cross Blood Mobiles.
She is survived by one son, Peter K. Mercer, State College, Center County; four daughters, M. Susan, wife of David W. Johns, Shillington, Judith A., wife of Wesley M. Sheridan, Chalfont, Elaine L., wife of Robert J. Stein, Boyertown, and Mary G., wife of Scott H. Strickland, Westfield, N.J.,; one brother, Gerald T. Karver, Boyertown; one sister, Betty Jean, wife of Daniel Bause Jr., Boyertown; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Albert M. Mercer Jr., one granddaughter, Mary H. Strickland, and one sister, Phyllis M. Stauffer.

WILLARD M. GODSHALL
Services were held for Willard M. Godshall, 78, of Oley Township, who died Aug. 31 in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, where he had been a patient.
He had been a resident of the Lutheran Community at Telford, for the last several years.
His wife, Amelia S. (Reppert) Godshall, died in 1995.
Born in Salford Township, Godshall was employed for many years as a truck driver by Mrs. Smith’s Pies, Reading, retiring in 1983.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur, Green Lane; Keith, Richlandtown; and four daughters: Ruth A. (Godshall) Galinski, Telford; Geraldine (Godshall) Gilbert, Virginia Beach, Va.; Sandra (Godshall) Cheatum, Green Lane, and Carol (Godshall) Madsen, Newportville.
Other survivors include three brothers; four sisters; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

ELLEN L. PENNYPACKER
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Ellen L. Pennypacker, 85, of Manatawny Road, Earl Township, who died Aug. 30 in the Berkshire Center, Exeter township, where she had resided since Aug. 16.
She was the wife of William C. Pennypacker.
Born in Reading, Pennypacker was a member of St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, Boyertown.
She is also survived by a daughter, Patricia (Pennypacker) Forester, Wyomissing; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

MARIAN ELENCHIN-HNATH
A funeral Mass was celebrated for Marian Louise (Weet) Elenchin-Hnath, 71, wife of William Hnath and widow of Michael J. Elenchin, of Boyertown, formerly of Phoenixville, who died Aug. 30 at Frederick Mennonite Community, Frederick.
Born in Pittsburgh, she was employed as a library aid at the Phoenixville Public Library. She was previously employed as a grade school teacher for eight years in Pittsburgh and at Sacred Heart, St. Mary’s and St. Ann’s schools in Phoenixville for 20 years.
She was a Phoenixville resident for 30 years, and was a Gray Lady at Phoenixville Hospital for five years.
She was a member of St. Columbkill Catholic Church, Boyertown.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers and three sisters.

MARTHA E. LAMOREAUX
Services were held for Martha E. (Hughes) Lamoreaux, 83, widow of William G. Lamoreaux of East High Street, Sanatoga, who died Aug. 29 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, where she had been a patient.
She was born in Avoca, Luzerne County, was a homemaker and an active member in the Pottstown Area Seniors Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Karyl L., wife of Charles L. "Chip" Ritter, Gilbertsville; one sister; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

NORMAN L. MOHN
Private services were held for Norman L. "Mooney" Mohn, 69, husband of Georgia J. (Wandel) (Wommer) Mohn, of Little Road, Sassamansville, who died Aug. 30 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
They were married
for 25 years.
Born in Fruitville, he worked at Superior Tube in Collegeville for 19 years and later worked for Willard Rhoads, owner of the Boyertown Landfill and retired in 1991 from the road crew with New Hanover Township.
He was also a life member of the Gilbertsville Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Gloria Mohn of Zephyrhills, Fla.; Mary Walters, Pottstown; two sons, Barry Mohn of Boyertown and Timothy Mohn of Sanatoga; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by five step-children, Alan Wommer of Frederick and Timothy Wommer, Bechtelsville; Terry Wommer, at home; Dawn, wife of David Stinnard, Boyertown and Amy Jackson of Sassamansville; and four step-grandchildren and one sister.

VIOLA S. BOTTS
Private graveside services were held for Viola S. (Yerger) Botts, 74, widow of Charles E. Botts, of Pottstown, who died Aug. 29 at her residence in the Sidney Pollick House, Pottstown.
Born in Pottstown, she attended Gilbertsville school, and lived in the Boyertown Area for many years.
She was employed in the admissions department of Lanshire Hall Nursing Home, Lancaster County, before her retirement.
She is survived by a sister.
The arrangements were handled by the Ruggliero Funeral Home, Trappe.
HENRY D. SWENK
Services were held for Henry D. Swenk, 76, husband of Nancy A. (Workman) Swenk, of the Lutheran Community at Telford and formerly of Logan Street, Pottstown, who died Aug. 29 at the community.
Born in Barto, Swenk was a shipper for 32 years with Neapco, Pottstown.
He was a World War II veteran, and was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of Pike Township Sportsman’s Association.
Surviving with his widow are a son, H. David Swenk, Quakertown; one brother, Ralph Swenk, Amity; two sisters, Dorothy, wife of Russell Weller, Bechtelsville and Evelyn, wife of Kermit Gottshall, Boyertown.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grandview Hospital Hospice, Sellersville.
There was no viewing for Swenk, with the arrangements handled by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home, Pottstown.
EDNA M. KOCHAN
Services were held for Edna M. Kochan, 89, of Reading Ave., West Reading, who died Sept. 2 in the Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient.
Her husband, Benjamin Kochan, died in 1982.
Born in Ruscombmanor Township, Kochan was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregation of Salem (Belleman’s) Church, Centre Township.
She is survived by two sons, Charles J., Centre Township, and Jack B., Bern Township; and a daughter, Anna A. Kochan, West Reading.
Other survivors include a sister, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
