Services were held for Stella Y. Yorgey, 94, of Pricetown Road, Ruscombmanor Township, who died Aug. 24 in the Kutztown Manor, where she had been a resident since July. Her husband, Lawrence G. Yorgey, died in 1940. Born in Washington Township, Yorgey was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Pricetown. She is survived by a daughter, Betty J. (Yorgey) Reider, with whom she resided. Other survivors include a brother, Warren Moyer, Gabelsville. There are also a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter. The arrangements were handled by the Daniel R. Christ Funeral Home, Oley.
SARAH J. MANWILLER
Services were held for Sarah J. Manwiller, 92, formerly of Memorial Highway, Fleetwood, who died Aug. 27 in Kutztown Manor, where she had been a resident for three years. Her husband, Herbert J. Manwiller, died in 1985. Born in Ruscombmanor Township, she was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Pricetown. She is survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Manwiller was predeceased by a daughter, Emily H. (Manwiller) Rothermel. The Mae A. Stump Funeral Home Inc., Fleetwood, handled the arrangements.
MARGARET KURTZ-MILLER
Graveside services were held for Margaret E. (Shertz) Kurtz-Miller, 83, widow of John M. Kurtz and Edward R. Miller, of ManorCare Health Services, North Charlotte Street, Pottstown, formerly of Sweinhart Road, Boyertown, who died Aug. 27 at ManorCare. Born in Gap, Lancaster County, she was employed as head cook by the Kimberton Farm School until her retirement in 1982. She was previously employed by Annie’s Fancy Cakes, Boyertown. She was a Methodist and was a life member of Liberty Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, New Berlinville. Surviving are three daughters, Shirley, wife of James Reidnauer, of Pottstown, Nancy Ewing of Boyertown, and Muriel, wife of Edward T. Fisher, of New Berlinville. Also two brothers, two sisters; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother. RAYMOND HOUCK
Services will be held for Raymond R. Houck, a Ruscombmanor Township business owner, who died Aug. 27 in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient. Houck, 81, of Houck Road, Ruscombmanor Township, was predeceased by his wife, Ferne I. (Shade) Houck, in 1975. He was the owner and president of the Raymond R. Houck Machine Co., Ruscombmanor Township, for the past 50 years.·
LEROY H. WELLER
Services were held for LeRoy H. Weller, 96, husband of Edith W. (Weller) Weller, widower of Annie (Weller) Weller, of RD 4, Boyertown, who died Aug. 15 at his residence. Born in District Township, Weller was employed by Eastern Foundry, Boyertown, for many years. He owned the Weller Saw Mill, from his residence, and was also a farmer. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Boyertown; member of the Pike Township Sportsmens Association; member of the Earl Township and Oley fire companies. He is survived by a son, Homer Weller, Pike; three stepsons, Lewis W. Weller, Pike, William Swavely, Earl, and David Swavely, Reading; three stepdaughters, Rose (Weller), widow of Melvin Babb, Earl, Merle (Swavely), wife of Norman William, Earl, and Diane (Swavely), wife of Ralph Quinn, Pennsburg; one brother, Earl Weller, Oley; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 20 step-grandchildren; 41 step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Viola K. (Kemmerer) Edge, 87, widow of Harlan O. Edge, of Popodickon Drive, Boyertown, who died Aug. 16 in her residence. Born in Washington Township, she was employed as a personnel manager for Great American Knitting Mill, Bally, for 44 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. Columbkill Catholic Church, Boyertown. She is survived by a son, Harlan R. Edge of Lake Wylie, S.C.; one daughter, Norma Choquet of Gastonia, N.C.; one brother, Theodore S. Kemmerer of Boyertown; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The arrangements were handled by the L. W. Ott Funeral Home Inc., Boyertown.
ANNA W. KEIM
Services were held for Anna W. Keim, 89, who died Aug. 17 at the Frederick Mennonite Community, Upper Frederick. Born in Colebrookdale, she owned and operated a boarding house in Boyertown for many years, which she was forced to close during World War II. She was later employed by the Boyertown Clothing Factory and the Boyertown Casket Co. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Boyertown. Keim is survived by a sister, Miriam Johnson, of Boyertown. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Services were held for Florence E. "Polly" (Slonaker) Derr, 78, widow of Samuel P. Derr, of Frederick Mennonite Community, Frederick, formerly of Gilbertsville, who died Aug. 19. Born in Pennsburg, Derr was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, Niantic. She is survived by a brother and a sister. EVA E. SCHOTT
Funeral services were held for Eva E. (Kuser) Schott, 76, widow of John Schott, of Limerick, who died Aug. 19 in the Sanatoga Center, Sanatoga. Born in Boyertown, she lived most of her life in Limerick and worked for many years as an aide for the former Pennhurst State Hospital and then at the former Philco Co. in Spring City. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Schott and Pearl Costello, both of Limerick; three sisters, Betty Kuser, of Reading, and Helen Reppert and Mary Lang, both of Boyertown; two brothers, Paul Kuser, of Boyertown, and Warren Kuser of Arizona; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John "Jack" Schott; two sisters, Grace Klemmer and Flaus Gilbert; and two brothers, Pete and Wayne Kuser. MABEL M. CONRAD
Services will be held Friday for Mabel M. (Briel) Conrad, 87, of the Frederick Mennonite Community, formerly of County Line road, Gilbertsville, who died Aug. 21 at the community. She was the widow of Norman R. Conrad. Born in Douglass Township, Montgomery County, she was a homemaker. Conrad was a member of St. John-Hill United Church of Christ, Boyertown and a member of the Women’s Guild at the church. Surviving are nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and a brother. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. John-Hill U.C.C. R.D. 4, Box 490, Boyertown. The Rev. James W. Rogers will officiate. A viewing will be Friday at 9:30 at the church until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John-Hill United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, R.D. #4, Box 490, Boyertown, PA 19512. The arrangements are being handled by the L. W.
