Services were held for Earl Meyers, 81, of Quakertown, who passed away Jan. 31, 2004 at Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown.
He was the husband of the late Doris (Hinkle) Meyers.
Born in East Rockhill Township, he was the son of the late William and Estella (Trumbower) Meyers.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the Darius Keller Co., in Allentown before he retired in 1988. Prior to that he worked for Calabrette Excavating in Quakertown.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Richlandtown.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Mr. Meyers is survived by two daughters, Paula Lansberg of Coopersburg and Beth Meyers of Sellersville; four sisters, Anna Mumbauer and Verna Hinkle both of Quakertown, Edith Lapinski of Richlandtown and Althea Roth of Manheim; and three grandchildren.

Siegmund Mamos
Services were held for Siegmund “ Siggi” Mamos, 96, of Harleysville, previously of Richlandtown, who passed away on Jan. 31, 2004 in Peter Becker Community, Harleysville.
He was the husband of the late Irma (Lebrecht) Mamos.
Born in Lodz, Poland he was the son of the late Ignatius and Maria Mamos.
Mr. Mamos is survived by one son, Harry of Hellertown.

Gloria Jean King
Gloria Jean King, 42, of Perkasie, formerly of Levittown and Texas, passed away Jan. 27, 2004 in St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital, Quakertown after a short illness.
She was the wife of John Wayne King, of Texas. They were married for 20 years.
Born in Bristol she was the daughter of Jonathan Miller, Sr. of Morrisville and the late Gloria Ruth (Sines) Miller.
In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. King is survived by one son, Kevin Louis King of Perkasie; one daughter, Crystal Elizabeth King of Perkasie; one brother, Jonathan Miller, Jr., of Morristown; two sisters, Ruthann Dean of Perkasie and BettyJo Miller of Morrisville; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service to be held Feb. 7, at 10 am in Christ the King Church, 465 Main Street, Tullytown, PA 19007

Mary Alice Fosbenner
Services were held for Mary Alice Fosbenner, 82, of Telford, formerly of Sellersville and Perkasie, who passed away on Jan. 31, 2004 in the Lutheran Community in Telford.
She was the wife of the late Harry F. Fosbenner.
Born in Perkasie she was the daughter of the late Jonas D. and Mary Ellen (Ott) Steeley.
She was a graduate of the former Sell-Perk High School.
Mrs. Fosbenner had been employed as a seamstress for many years with the former Wispee’s in Perkasie before retiring in 1986. Previously she had worked in the Butcher Department of the former C.D. Moyer Co. in Silverdale.
She was a lifelong member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie where she was a member of the sewing circle.
She was also a former Den-Mother with the Cub Scouts.
Mrs. Fosbenner is survived by one daughter, Linda M. Beach of Sellersville; two sons, Neil H. of Perkasie, and J. Christopher of Quakertown; one brother, Jacob A. Steeley of Sellersville; and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Mark F.; three brothers, Edwin, William and Benjamin Steeley and two sisters, Elizabeth V. and Maggie M. Steeley.

Leslie Howatt
Leslie Howatt, 86, of Coopersburg passed away Jan. 31, 2004 at his residence.
He was the husband of the late Nora Mae (Gromley) Howatt.
Born in Leominster, Mass., he was the son of the late David and Maude (Osborn) Howatt.
He was the founder and owner of Howatt Orchards, in Coopersburg.
He was a former supervisor of Lower Milford Township and also a former member of the Planning Commission of Lower Milford Township.
He was a National Weather Reported for over 50 years for the NOAA.
Mr. Howatt is survived by two sons, Roderick L. and Gerald G. both of Coopersburg; one daughter, Eileen F. Howatt of Zionsville; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Feb. 8, at 3 pm at the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, 821 W. Broad St., Quakertown. Calling hours will be from 2 to 3 pm.

Jean M. Washburn
Jean M. Washburn, 73, of Bethlehem died Feb. 28, 2003 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill, Pa.
She was the wife of Robert J. Washburn, Jr. The couple celebrated their 49th Wedding anniversary last Oct.
Mrs. Washburn was born in Allentown to the late Edwin C. and Miriam (Focht) Jacoby.
She was employed by The Wood Company, Food Services Management at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, for 17 years before retiring in 1991.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown, where she formerly sang in the choir.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son, David M.; and one grandson. She was predeceased by two sons, Edwin C. and Robert J. Washburn, III.
Funeral services were held Mar. 5, Interment
was in Grandview Cemetery , Allentown, Pa.

Raeburn K. Fisk
Raeburn K. Fisk, 84, of Bethlehem formerly of Hellertown, Pa. and Barberton, Ohio died Mar. 4, 2003 at the VNA Hospice at St. Luke’s Fountain Hill, Pa.
He was the husband of the late Jean E. (Doles) Fisk.
Mr. Fisk was born in Hunter, N.D. to the late Warren C. and Ruby )Knudtson) Fisk.
He was an Automotive Parts salesman in Barberton and Akron, Ohio areas until retiring in 1981.
He served in the United States Air Force during WWII.
He is survived by three sons, Robert R. of Barberton, Ohio, Jody L. of Clinton, Ohio, and Kevin D. of Akron, Ohio; one daughter, Janelle J. with whom he resided; one brother, Wilbert of Florissant, Mo.; one sister, Joyce Folk of Kissimee, Fla.; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were private and at the convenience of the family. Interment
was at the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp.

Pauline E. Christman
Pauline E. Christman, 85, of Lower Macungie Twp. formerly of Slatedale, died Mar. 6, 2003 at the Lehigh Center Genesis Elder Care.
She was the wife of the late Albert S. Christman, Sr.
She was born in Washington Twp., Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Nancy C. (Weiss) Hess.
Until her retirement Mrs. Christman was a cook at the Swain School in Bethlehem Twp.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald R. of Bethlehem, Donald L. of Allentown, Clarence F. of Hellertown; one daughter, Nancy J. Muth of Walnutport; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Janet L. Sterner and one son, Albert S. Christman, Jr.
Funeral services were held Mar. 10. Interment
was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Allentown, Pa.

Verna V. Fluck, 77, of Fountain Hill, formerly of Hellertown died Mar. 8, 2003 at the VNA Hospice at St. Luke’s, Fountain Hill.
She was the wife of LeRoy A. Fluck. They were married for 59 years.
Born in Lower Saucon Twp., she was the daughter of the late William and Naomi (Strock) Strauss.
She was a self employed Beautician for 7 years.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Springfield Twp., Pleasant Valley.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two daughters, Cynthia L. Fulmer of Hellertown, and Kathleen L. Schiavone of Catasaqua; eight sisters, Grace Ruch of Hellertown, Ruth Moyer of Quakertown, Dorothy Danecker of Perkasie, Florence Arena of Allentown, Eunice Hanselman of Quakertown, Betty Jane Shannon of Hellertown, Marjorie Map of Holmes, Pa., and Faye Wetzel of Souderton; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Mar. 11. Interment
was in Union Cemetery , Hellertown.

Neal G. Bergstresser
Neal G. Bergstresser, 80, of Columbia, Md., formerly of Edina, Minn. and Paris, France, died Mar. 6, 2003 at the Sinai Hospital, Baltimore, Md.
He was the husband of Annamae B. (Beidelman) Bergstresser. They were married for 56 years.
Born in Hellertown, he was the son of the late Stanley E. and Florence S. (Grube) Bergstresser.
Prior to retiring in 1986 he was employed by Honeywell/General Electric for 39 1/2 years as a Financial Systems Executive.
He served with the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Center Valley, Pa.
He was a life member of the American Legion in Howard County. Md., Charter Member of the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC, Phi Alpha Theta Honor Fraternity for History, Lehigh University, Phi Beta Kappa Honor Fraternity, Lehigh University. He had a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lehigh University, a Master of Business Administration from Siena College in New York. He was also a Charter member of the Battle Ship Missouri Memorial, in Hawaii.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Carole A. of Falls Church, Va.; two sons, Lee R. of Easton, and Ray M. of Wyomissing; four grandchildren.
