Services were held for Andrew J. Kondrath, 65, of Oley Turnpike Road, Exeter Township, who died August 15 in his residence.
Born in Pittsburgh, Kondrath had been most recently employed in maintenance at the Sovereign Center.
He is survived by two daughters, Constance M. (Kondrath) Ludwig, Glenmoore, Chester County, and Krystal R. (Kondrath) King, Birdsboro; and three sons: Andrew S., Hazleton, Jeffrey J., Wernersville; and Mark T., of Reading.
Other survivors include a brother; a sister and five grandchildren.
The Bean Funeral Homes Inc., Exeter Township, handled the arrangements.

FLORENCE M. SMITH
Graveside services will be held August 24 for Florence M. Smith, 92, formerly of Pennside, who died August 15 in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township, where she had resided for eight years.
Her husband, Melvin C. Smith, died in 1977.
Smith was born in Reading,
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Services will be August 24, at 11 a.m. in Charles Evans Cemetery .

GEORGE A. KIEHL
Graveside services were held for George A. Kiehl, 85, of Berkshire Commons, Exeter Township, who died August 15 in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township, where he had been a patient.
His wife, Barbara M. (Korner) Kiehl, died in 1996.
Born in Harlowton, Mont., he was employed for 48 years as both a ranch owner in Montana and a foreman for ranches in Colorado and Oregon, retiring in 1984.
He was a 1936 graduate of Harlowton High School and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Kiehl is survived by a niece.

Graveside services were in the Charles Evans Cemetery .
MICHAEL W. LECHNER SR.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Michael W. Lechner Sr., 46, of Lincoln Road, Exeter Township, who died August 16 in Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Regina (Geiger) Lechner.
Born in Reading, he was a son of Frederick Lechner, Hamburg, and Marilyn (Martin) Pasquale, Amity Township.
Lecher had been employed by both Custom Processing Services, Exeter Township, and the Exeter Township School District, working in transportation service.
He was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township.
Lechner was a graduate of Reading High School and was an Army veteran.
He is also survived by a son, Michael W. Jr., and a daughter, Mandie, both at home; and a stepdaughter, Tiffanie (Witman) Bausher, Hamburg.
Other survivors include two sisters, Nancy (Lechner) Ciccone, Exeter Township, and Ethel (Lechner) Suski, Reading; and a stepmother, Josephine (Desantis) Lechner, Hamburg.
There are also three grandchildren.
Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
The arrangements were handled by the Kopicki-Bradley Funeral Home Inc., Reading.
JAMES C. GIERLICH SR.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for James C. Gierlich Sr., 82, formerly of Nicole Drive, Exeter Township, who died August 16 in Beverly Manor, Exeter Township, where he had resided for six years.
His wife, Dorothy M. (Breen) Gierlich, died in 2000.
Born in New Brunswick, N.J., he had been employed as an electrician for Ford Motor Co., Metuchen, N.J.
He was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township.
Gierlich was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are three daughters: Kathy (Gierlich) Fischer, Sanford, Fla.; Cynthia L. (Gierlich) Kuznicki, Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.; and Christine J. Gierlich, Edison, N.J.
In addition, there are six sons: James C. Jr., Exeter Township; Robert J., Boyertown; Steven R., Reading; Glenn C., Sinking Spring; Raymond T., Hackettstown, N.J.; and Michael G., Denver, Lancaster County.
Other survivors include a sister and 11 grandchildren.
Entombment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Laureldale.

VIRGINIA V. VICARI
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Virginia V. Vicari, 75, formerly of West 38th Street, Exeter Township, who died August 18 in Berkshire Center, where she had resided since June.
Her husband, Albert J. Vicari, died in 1977.
Born in Reading, she had been employed for many years as co-owner of Berkley Mushroom Farm, Ontelaunee Township, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.
Surviving are two daughters, Teresa A. (Vicari) Yoder, Exeter Township, and Nancy L. (Vicari) Miller, Royersford.
Other survivors include a brother, a sister and five grandchildren.

RONALD L. WERT
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Ronald L. Wert, 69, of First Avenue, Exeter Township, who died December 27 [2002] in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient.
His wife, Jeananne M. (Bettler) Wert, died in 2000.
Born in Reading, he was a son of Louise (Distasio) Shaaber, Birdsboro, and the late Claude Wert. He was also predeceased by his stepfather, Allen M. Shaaber.
He had been employed for 15 years as a bus driver by the Exeter Township School District, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Birdsboro, where he was a charter member of the choir.
Wert was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a past president of the Exeter Lions Club.
Wert is also survived by a son, Jamie A., Mount Penn; and three daughters: Deborah L. (Wert) Lutz,, Lexington, Ky.; Eileen M. (Wert) Barnett, Exeter Township; and Kathleen P. (Wert) McCarthy, Bernville.
There are also five grandchildren.
Entombment was in Gethsemane Cemetery , Laureldale.

HAZEL G. BIDDLE
Services were held for Hazel G. Biddle, 92, formerly of West Norriton, Montgomery County, who died December 23 [2002] in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township, where she had resided for more than two years.
Her husband, Gordon K. Biddle, died in 1993.
Born in Norristown, Biddle was a graduate of North Wales High School, Montgomery County, and a 1932 graduate of the Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia.
She had been a registered nurse for Dr. David G. Moyer in Lansdale, Montgomery County.
Biddle was a member of Wentz’s United Church of Christ, Worcester, Montgomery County.
She also served on the Cultural Arts Advisory Committee of Montgomery County.
Surviving are two daughters, Sydney B. (Biddle) Malick, Wyomissing, and Sandra L. Biddle, West Norriton.
There are also two grandchildren.
Private burial was in Boehm’s UCC Cemetery , Whitpain Township, Montgomery County.

EMANUEL J. ENDY
Services were held for Emanuel J. Endy, 62, of Caravelle Lane, Exeter Township, who died December 28 [2002] in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient.
Born in Reading, Endy had been employed for 20 years as a truck driver by A.T.V. Bakery, Reading, retiring in 1995.
He was a 1958 graduate of Reading High School.
Endy was a life member of the East Ends Athletic Association, Reading.
He resided with Judith P. (Engle) Hunsinger, is survived by a son, Christopher J., Dallas, Texas; and two daughters, Loreal M. Endy, Reading, and Nicole M. Endy, Los Almitos, Calif.
Burial was in Gethsemane Cemetery , Laureldale.

DIANA M. BENNETHUM
Private services were held for Diana M. Bennethum, 50, of Warwick Court, Exeter Township, who died in her vacation home in Ocean City, N.J., on December 29 [2002].
She was the wife of George F. Bennethum.
Born in Champagne, Ill., she had been employed for 33 years as a drafting engineer by Verizon, Reading, before retiring.
Bennethum is also survived by two stepdaughters, Caitlin and Brigitte Bennethum, Reading.
Other survivors include two brothers and three sisters and two step-grandchildren.
