Jeanette B. Sweetser, 78, of Sellersville, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 in her home.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Interment
will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17 in Mt. Carmel Cemetery , Mt. Carmel.
She was the wife of the late Arthur A. Sweetser, Jr. M.D.
Born in Mt. Carmel, she was the daughter of the late Andrew B. Buczko M.D. and the late Ethel (Beynon) Buczko R.N. She moved to Sellersville with her husband in 1950.
She was employed in the 1940s as a licensed Medical Technologist with Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She later became a legal secretary and notary public for Willard E. Buck Jr., Esquire, Sellersville. In the 1990s, she was a church secretary for St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, Perkasie.
She is survived by: one daughter, Linda Sweetser Morris, with whom she resided in Sellersville; one son, Craig B. Sweetser of Newburgh,
N. Y.; two grandsons.

Linda F. Shive
Linda F. Shive, 55, of Quakertown, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002 in her home. Funeral services were held Aug. 14.
She was the wife of William H. Shive. They were married 34 years.
Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of Maude (Schmoyer) Shearer of Coopersburg, and the late Ellsworth Shearer.
She was last employed as a cashier for ARA Food Service at AEL Co. in Colmar. Prior to that, she was a cashier for the former Pantry Pride-Food Fair in Quakertown.
She was a member of Trinity Great Swamp U.C.C. in Spinnerstown, where she was a former choir member.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by: three sons, Michael W., of Allentown, Mark D., of Hellertown, and Matthew D., of Quakertown; two brothers, Roy C. Shearer, of Zionsville, and Todd D. Shearer, of Emmaus; three sisters, Doris M. Carber, of Colmar, Sandra E. Bloss, of Coopersburg, and Peggy A. Banes, of Weatherly; three grandchildren.

James K. Knowles
James K. Knowles, 96, of Atco, N. J., previously of Quakertown, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 in West Jersey Hospital, Berlin, N.J.
Funeral services were held Aug. 14. Interment
was in Zion Hill Cemetery , Zion Hill.
He was the husband of the late Yetta (Brown) Knowles.
Born in Key West, Fla., he was the son of the late John T. and Julia (Albury) Knowles.
He was a stationary engineer for 27 years at Merck, Sharp & Dohme, Lansdale.
He served in the Merchant Marines during peacetime.
He is survived by: one son, James K. Knowles Jr. of Marlton, N.J.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Inez Hyde Olson
Inez Hyde Olson, of Haycock Township, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 in her home.
She was the wife of William P. Olson.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late A. Stanley Hyde and Inez Woodford Hyde.
She was a homemaker for 46 years.
She was a member of the Anglican Church of the Incarnation, Quakertown, and the Womens National War Memorial Assoc., Arlington, Va.
She served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army (WAC) during World War II from 1942-46. Among her citations was a Phillipines Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: three daughters, Heather J. Laudenslager, of Wernersville, Karen H. Gangewere, of Mohnton, and Kimberly N. Olson, of Wallingford; two brothers, Lynn Hyde, of Quakertown, and A. Stanley Hyde Jr, of Clifton Heights; six grandchildren.

Thelma E. Detwiler
Thelma E. (Sell) Detwiler, 86, of Pennsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002 at Pennsburg Manor, Pennsburg.
Funeral services were held Oct. 30. Interment
was in Pennsburg U.C.C. Cemetery , Pennsburg.
She was the wife of the late John W. Detwiler.
Born in Red Hill, she was the daughter of the late John P. and the late Lillie Mae (Erb) Sell.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Pennsburg United Church of Christ, Pennsburg, and belonged to the Golden Agers Club at the church. She was also a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Citizens Club in East Greenville and the Red Hill Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by: two daughters, Marilyn R. Stull of Barto, and Ruth E. Nice of Bechtelsville; one son, Merill Yorgey of Red Hill; two sisters, Margie Leister of Pennsburg and June Ehrie of Topton; four grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.

Franklin M. Weisel
Franklin M. Weisel, 69, of Pipersville, died on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 in his home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home Inc., 821 W. Broad St., Quakertown.
He was the husband of the late Donna L. (Benner) Weisel.
Born in Milford Township, he was the son of the late Alvin K. and Alverda (Miller) Weisel.
He was a supervisor at Reedman’s in Langhorne before his retirement. Afterward, he worked in the maintenance department at American Rentals in Doylestown and for B&G Enterprise in Plumsteadville.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Spinnerstown.
He was one of the founders and a member of the Lehigh Valley Timing Association. He was also a member of the NRA.
He is survived by: two sons, Wade M. Weisel of Willow Grove and Jeshia T. Weisel at home; two brothers, Gerald C. Weisel of East Greenville and Willard E. Weisel of Sellersville; one sister, Grace M. MacDonald of Camp Hill; one granddaughter.

Cecelia T. Weikel
Cecelia T. Weikel, 88, of Richlandtown, formerly of Perkasie and Quakertown, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002 at St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital.
Funeral services were held Oct. 29. Interment
was in Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
She was the wife of the late Arthur R. Weikel.
Born in Coraopolis, she lived most of her life in the Perkasie and Quakertown areas.
She was a homemaker and was previously employed as a presser for the former JG Pants Factory, Perkasie.
She was Protestant by faith.
She is survived by: two daughters, Faye Lawrence and Joan Frick, both of Sellersville; one son, Kenneth Weikel of Souderton; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Edward Urban.

Lidija Tupitis
Lidija Tupitis, 89, of Richland Township, formerly of Latvia, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002 at St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital, Quakertown.
Funeral services were held Dec. 21. Interment
was in St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ Cemetery , Perkasie.
She was the wife of the late Eduards Tupitis.
Born in Aizpute, Latvia, she was the daughter of the late Karlis and Auguste (Putnaerglis) Ernstsons.
She had been employed as a seamstress for the Phoenix clothing factory, Quakertown. Prior to that, she worked for the William Fretz and Sons Pants factory, Bedminster, Harvey Clothing, Quakertown and Shawnee-Penn Manufacturing, Quakertown. She retired in 1979.
She was a member of the Bucks County Latvian Baptist Church, Applebachsville. She sang in church choirs in Latvia and Germany.
She is survived by: one daughter, Vizma Tupitis, of Richland Township; three sisters, Anna Reinis, of Quakertown, Lilija Kimanska, of Latvia and Rasma Chamberlin, of San Jose, Calif. She was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Ernstsons.

Grace M. Sames, 85, of Richlandtown, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002 at Valley Manor Nursing Center, Coopersburg.
Funeral services were held Dec. 21. Interment
was in Richlandtown Union Cemetery , Richlandtown.
She was the wife of C. Stanley Sames for 47 years.
Born in Richlandtown, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Carrie (Lewis) Ernie.
She assisted her husband in the operation of the Richland Feed Co., Richlandtown, for over 20 years before retiring. She and her husband also worked a farm in Richlandtown for many years.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Richlandtown, and a member of the Richlandtown Fire Co. Auxiliary.
She is survived by: two sons, Ronald C. Sames, of Richlandtown, Gerald L. Sames, of Souderton; one daughter, Karlene, of Richlandtown; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Janice.

Nora B. Reinsons, 67, of Souderton, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 in her home.

She was the wife of the late Juris “Jerry” Reinsons.
Born in Riga, Latvia, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Karline (Vibe) Balodis.
She was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church of Bucks County & Vicinity, where she was a former choir member.
She is survived by: one son, Ivars J., of Quakertown; one brother, Peter Balodis II, of Souderton.
