Richard Armour Thompson, age 86 of New Haven Court, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Eau Claire Street, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at 12:57 a.m. in the Masonic Home, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
Born September 18, 1920 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Clarence Herold Thompson and the late Bernice Marie Boyle Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was a roll grinder and also was a mill rep for Armco Steel now known as AK Steel. He retired in October 1982 after 42 years of service. He was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bocce and horseshoes.
Mr. Thompson is survived by one daughter, Kay D. Gilman of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sons, Richard Thompson of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, Robert O. Thompson of Vacaville, California; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Williams Thompson who passed away on November 18, 1999.
There will be no public visitation or services. Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.
Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.

David W. Wentworth
July 11, 1935 - May 5, 2007
David W. Wentworth, age 71 of Huselton Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 5, 2007 in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 11, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Edward Wentworth and the late Nell Wentworth.
Mr. Wentworth was a retired agent for Elder Insurance Agency. He was an alumni of Allegheny College, a member of the Butler Country Club and Westview Hunting and Fishing Club. Mr. Wentworth was a former member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Butler Kiwanis Club, and YMCA Board of Director's. He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, fishing and boating.
Mr. Wentworth is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kate) Elder Wentworth, whom he marriage on May 6, 1961, by two sons, David R. and wife Jeanne Wentworth of Ben Avon, Pennsylvania and Douglass E. Wentworth of Dallas, Texas and a grand-daughter, Alessandra Wentworth of Ben Avon, Pennsylvania.
There will be no public visitation.
A Funeral service will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bruce Geary of St. Peter's Episcopal Church officiating. Private interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be may to the donor's favorite charity.
Nancy M. Wright

Nancy M. Wright, age 81 of Petrolia Road, Petrolia, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 11:39 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born September 7, 1925 in Fairview, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Miller and the late Esther Cumberland Miller.
Mrs. Wright was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she worked as a nurse's aide at Butler Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Wright is survived by one son, Paul Wright and his wife Gale of Greenville, South Carolina; one daughter, Ginny and her husband Bill Tucker of Harrison Township, Michigan; two grandsons, Will Wright and his wife Alicia of Denver, Colorado, Jay Wright and his wife Llawayne of Tampa, Florida; two grand-daughters, Marol Hotchkin and her husband John of Greenville, South Carolina, Lani Moore and her husband Jim of Berkley, Michigan; ten great-grandchildren, Four sisters, Mary Hesky of Butler, Pennsylvania, Esther Hemmerling of Eau Claire, Pennsylvania, Diane King of Parker, Pennsylvania, Gloria Sweeney of Petrolia, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Tom Miller of Emlenton, Pennsylvania, Bill Miller of Petrolia, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Wright on November 25, 1988.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church officiating. Internment will follow in Concord Cemetery, Hooker, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Bob Jones University, Greenville, South Carolina 29614.

Charles G. Gardner

Charles G. Gardner, age 74 of Cleveland Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at his residence.
Born November 13, 1932 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts he was the son of the late Gilbert Gardner and the late Doris Chapman.
Mr. Gardner was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Harmony. Mr. Gardner was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Gardner enjoyed woodworking, golf, painting and gardening. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean War as a Fireman Apprentice.
Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife, Charlotte E. Gardner whom he marriage on August 11, 2001, by three sons, Charles Gardner, Ronald Gardner both of North Adams, Massachusetts, Geoffrey Gardner of Ticonderoga, New York; seven daughters, Tanya Gardner of Williamstown, Massachusetts, Sonja Burdick of Williamstown, Massachusetts, Charlene Gardner of North Adams, Massachusetts, Angelica Gardner of Ticonderoga, New York, June Adam of Adams, Massachusetts, Susan Todd of North Adams, Massachusetts, Diane Gardner of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; three step-son, Thomas Bruse of Butler, Pennsylvania, Edward Bruse of Sorrento, Florida, Stephen Bruse of Mishicot, Wisconsin; three step-daughters, Lori Sexton of Butler, Pennsylvania, Connie Edwards of Gloversville, New York, Deborah Landers of Sorrento, Florida; forty-nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, three nieces, two nephews; two brothers, Milton Gardner of Bennington, Vermont, and Jerry Gardner of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Services will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend R. K. Weber, retired Lutheran pastor officiating.

Colonel Charles Heeter

Colonel Charles Heeter, age 73 of 6400 St Clair Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 8:07 a.m. at his residence.
Born May 19, 1933 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Colonel Charles Heeter and the late Gonzaga Amelia Brehm Heeter.
Mr. Heeter was a self-employed owning and operating United Mail Systems. He was a member of St. Vitus Roman Catholic Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He enjoyed flying and ballroom dancing. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Heeter is survived by his former spouse Shirley Skrove Heeter of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and by one son, Gary C. Heeter and his wife Tammy of Dalton, Minnesota; one daughter, Suzanne Heeter of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Toni Torres of Santa Rosa, California, Patti Shea of Scottsdale, Arizona, Kathleen Margolios of Palm Springs, California; three grandsons, Nick Heeter, Lucas Heeter, Samuel Heeter; and one grand-daughter, Lauren Heeter; six nieces and four nephews.
Mr. Heeter was preceded in death by one son Craig Heeter and one brother Robert Heeter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 12:00 noon with Father Pierre Falkenhan of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Roman Catholic. Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
Officers and members of V.F.W. Post 249 and American Legion Post #778 will conduct military honors at the Cemetery.

Joseph J. LeFever, age 69 of Sugar Creek Rest Home, Worthington, Pennsylvania, formerly of Georgia, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 8:40 a.m. in the Sugar Creek Rest Home.
Born May 31, 1937 in Renfrew, Pennsylvania he was the son of Ann Miller LeFever and the late Dallas LeFever.
Mr. LeFever was a maintenance supervisor for Alcan Aluminum Co., Rome, Georgia retiring in 1997. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Cedartown, Georgia, and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and boating.
Mr. LeFever is survived by his four daughters, Mrs. Mark (Levonne) Leuenberger of Roswell, Georgia, Patricia Cooper of Butler, Pennsylvania, Jill Crawford of Cabot, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Reginald (Kandy) Kriebel of Karns City, Pennsylvania; his mother, Mrs. Ann LeFever of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Donald (Deloris) Ketchem of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Robert (Joann) Mayer of Wexford, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Reverend William (Carol) Winzler of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. LeFever was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn M. LeFever who passed away on April 3, 2004.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, June 1, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor David M. Walters, the chaplain of the Sugar Creek Rest Home officiating. Interment will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.
