James A. "Bunsy" Gardner, age 79 of Hooker Road, West Sunbury, Pennsylvania, died Friday, June 1, 2007 at the home of his daughter.
Born March 30, 1928 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late William A. Gardner and the late Florence L. Baney Gardner.
Mr. Gardner was retired from the Food Gallery Bakery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a member of North Street Christian Church. He enjoyed camping, hunting, horses, baseball and his family. He was a veteran of the United Staes Navy serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife, Donna Gardner whom he marriage on December 1, 1951, and by two daughters, Sheri Hays of Prospect, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Scott (Robin) Fischer of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Ryan Hays of Prospect, Pennsylvania, Hunter Hays of Butler, Pennsylvania; two nieces and three nephews.
Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammie who passed away on October 2, 2006.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend David Brewer officiating.

Alan Blackwell

Alan Blackwell, age 52 of Negley Ave., Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Life Care Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Born May 1, 1955 in Gary, Indiana he was the son of the late James Blackwell and Phyllis Blackwell.
Mr. Blackwell was a taxi driver for Richie-Rich Taxi Service. He enjoyed enjoyed camping.
Mr. Blackwell is survived by three brothers; Paul Blackwell, Sr. of Butler, Pennsylvania, Brian Blackwell, Illinois, Ross Blackwell of Butler, Pennsylvania; his mother Phyllis Blackwell of Butler, Pennsylvania; one nephew, and two great nieces.
There will be no public visitation or funeral. Arrangements by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania.
Ruby C. Mayhew
February 11, 1924 - July 19, 2006
Ruby C. Mayhew, age 82 of Sunnyview Nursing Home, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Andrews Trace and West Pearl Street, Butler died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 8:52 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born February 11, 1924 in Oakdale, Tennessee she was the daughter of the late Dolph Creekmore and the late Flora Moore. Mrs. Mayhew was raised and lived much of her early life in Danville, Kentucky
Mrs. Mayhew was a homemaker, but also worked as an operator for the Bell Telephone Company. She also worked at Country Bell and the P.A.R.C. when it was located at the VA Hospital. She was a member of North Main Street Church of God, a member of the church choir, as a tenor and was involved in many special music presentations.
Mrs. Mayhew is survived by one son, William D. Mayhew of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; four daughters, Mrs. David (Carol) Crawford, Mrs. (Chuck) Linda Yetter, both of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Jack (Doris) Stupka of Mercer, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Greg (Kelly) McCloskey of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and one niece and one nephew.
Mrs. Mayhew was preceded in death by her husband, L. Damon Mayhew who passed away on March 6, 2001, by one brother and one sister.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday July 23, 2006 from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. David Panther of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
Ralph F. Miller
April 29, 1923 - July 17, 2006
Ralph F. Miller, age 83 of Marwood Road, Cabot, Pennsylvania, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born April 29, 1923 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late J. Fred Miller and the late Nora E. Bauer.
Mr. Miller was a machinist for Armco Steel Corporation for 36 years. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, Pennsylvania. He served in Europe with the 9th Air Force where he was a corporal.
Mr. Miller is survived by one brother, Richard C. Miller of Cabot, Pennsylvania; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, July 20, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Barry Keurulainen of St. Luke Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, Pennsylvania 16023.
Glenn Porch "Friday" Myers
February 17, 1917 - July 17, 2006
Glenn Porch "Friday" Myers, age 89 of Lowrie House, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of Freemont Street, Butler, Pennsylvania died Monday, July 17, 2006 at 1:20 a.m. in the Chicora Medical Center.
Born February 17, 1917 in Pitcarin, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Dempsey Myers and the late Grace Porch.
Mr. Myers worked in the weld shop for Butler Armco retiring after 42 years of service. He was protestant by faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines serving in World War II.
Mr. Myers is survived by two daughters, Sandra Dowdy and Sharon K. Werner both of Butler, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Cora Mae Davis, Alabama; one brother, Ray Myers of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Pauline Myers who passed away on November 20, 1992 and also by one sister and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, July 20, 2006 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Barry Woolner officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Michael J. Spack, Sr.
May 1, 1920 - July 16, 2006
Michael J. Spack, Sr., age 86 of Whitestown Road, Lyndora, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at 3:35 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born May 1, 1920 in Hermine, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late John Spack and the late Anna Mazurkievicz.
Mr. Spack was a self-employed electronic technician but did work for many area businesses. At one time he taught electronics at Butler County Community College. He was a member of Crossfire of the First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a sergeant with the 28th infantry serving in the European and African Theaters during World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and many other awards. He was highly decorated. In his younger years he worked with the CCC in demolition.
Mr. Spack is survived by his two sons, Michael Spack, Jr. of Chicora, Pennsylvania, Greg Spack of Lyndora, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. John (Karen) Spack Duster, Sr. of Butler, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Spack was preceded in death b his wife, Pearl Madeline Porter who passed away on April 19, 1987 and also by two sister and one brother.
There will be no public visitation and private services were held at the First United Methodist Church.
