Margaret Opal "Peggy" Cherry, 46 of Nettleton, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at her residence following a long illness.
Born June 17, 1957 in Aberdeen, MD, she was the daughter of Gregory Kidwell and Eleanor Hamilton Kidwell-Kiter.
She was employed at Peoples Bank in Tupelo, MS. She was a member Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler and she was active and attended the First Baptist Church in Nettleton, MS.
Surviving are her husband Jeffrey Lynn Cherry of Nettleton, MS, a Son, Aaron Lynn Cherry of Nettleton, MS, a Step-Daughter, Tiffany Cherry Toth of Butler, PA, a Granddaughter, Joslyn Toth of Butler, PA, three Sisters, Mrs. Jeffrey (Cathy) Hare of Ashland, PA, Mrs. Kim (Amy) Kochanek of Port Angeles, WA, and Betsy Kidwell of Meadville, PA, two Brothers, Ben Kiter and Glenn Kiter, and her Mother, Eleanor Hamilton Kiter of Meadville, PA.
Preceding her in death were her Father and her Stepfather, Clarence Kiter.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, from Sunday August 31, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 and Monday September 1, 2003 at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church from 10-11 AM.
Services will be held at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, Monday September 1, 2003 at 11:00 AM Interment will be at the Butler County Memorial Park on Tuesday September 2, 2003.

Mildred Blanche Deem Schoenfeld

Mildred Blanche Deem Schoenfeld age 96 of Concordia Lutheran Home, Cabot, Pennsylvania, formerly of Beechwood Blvd. Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 6:10 A.M. in the Concordia Lutheran Home.
Born in Bristol, West Virginia on September 28, 1906, She was the daughter of the late Reverend Charles Ezra Deem and Martha Elizabeth Mills.
Mrs. Schoenfeld was a homemaker and a long-standing member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler.
Mrs. Schoenfeld's husband William W. Schoenfeld preceded her in death on May 29, 1988.
She is survived by one Son: Dr. C. Deem Schoenfeld of Middlebury, Vermont, nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, one sister: Mrs. Ruth Hedgpath of Tulsa, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons Robert E. Schoenfeld and Richard W. Schoenfeld, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends and family of Mildred Deem Schoenfeld will be received on Friday, August 29, 2003 at THE THOMPSON-MILLER FUENRAL HOME INC. 124 EAST NORTH ST. BUTLER, PA from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Funeral Services will follow from the Funeral Home at 4:00 P.M. with Reverend J. David Panther of The First United Methodist Church Officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Garnet M. Stewart

Garnet M. Stewart, age 74 of Butler, died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 12:03 p.m. at Sunnyview Home.
Born August 19, 1929 in Natrona Heights, she was the daughter of Charles Dufford and Fern Smith.
She was a homemaker and a nurses aid working in the Butler area. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Mrs. Stewart was also a member of MADD, Christian Women's Group, A.A.R.P. and an honorary member of the Butler City Fire Department. She was the first occupant of the Historic Lafayette Apartments in Butler.
She is survived by three sons, David C. Stewart of Grand Blanc, IL, Robert G. Stewart of Butler, PA, Donald K. Stewart of Butler, PA, three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Merry Jayne) Mercurio of Butler, PA, Val Jean Stewart of Butler, PA, Margaret Stewart of Butler, PA, Six Grandsons, One Grand-daughter, and her Mother, Mrs. Fern Dufford Heyer of Butler, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband David W. Stewart who passed away June 15, 1991 and one brother.

L. Dolores Walker, 78 of Butler, died Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 9:27 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 22, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Carl Youkers and Mabel Kradel.
Prior to becoming a homemaker, she worked at Armco Steel. Later in her life she worked for Hallmark, Teak's Shoes and the Pointe Drug Store.
She was a member of St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She graduated from Butler Area High School class of 1943 and also a graduate of Butler Business School.
Surviving are one son, Tom Walker of Gapland, Maryland, one daughter, Charlene Krumpe of Moscow, Idaho, Son-in-law, Dr. Edwin Krumpe of Moscow, Idaho, three grandchildren, Tara Walker Reeder of Mason, Michigan, Blaine Krumpe of Moscow, Idaho, Jessie Krumpe of Moscow, Idaho, Sister, Mrs. Elaine Hesselgesser of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, Step-mother, Mrs. Mildred Youkers of Butler, Pennsylvania, and a Number of Nieces and Nephews. Her family and devoted friends will miss her. They were a very important part of her life.

December 16, 1937 - July 11, 2006
Lorain R. "Cy" Christy Sr., age 81 of Coal Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 4:10 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born December 16, 1924 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Silas H. Christy and the late Estella Fay Christy Fair.
Mr. Christy was retired from the Labor Department for Butler Armco. He was Presbyterian by faith. Mr. Christy was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II with 187th Regiment of the 11th Airborne Division. He was a life member of the Joseph T. Black Post #249 of the V.F.W. and the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Christy Sr. is survived by his wife, Helen C. Gillis Christy whom he marriage on April 3, 1946, three sons: Lorain R. Christy Jr. and Patricia Weber of Butler, Pennsylvania, James H. Christy and his wife Karen of Allison Park, Pennsylvania, D'Wayne G. Christy and his fiancée Heidi Holoweckyj of Butler, Pennsylvania, two daughters: Carolyn J. Christy and Charles Caraballo of Bloomingdale, New Jersey, Penny Christy and Dino Bearer of Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, nine grandchildren: Ben Christy, Joel Christy, Jherek Christy, Micah Christy, Mairenn Christy, Matthew Christy, Elizabeth Rome, Camerin Caraballo, Jessie Bearer, five great grandchildren and a Number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Christy Sr. was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

James M. Thompson, age 86 of Pinewood Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 12:40 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 30, 1919 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late James Monroe Thompson, Sr. and the late Catherine M. Mortimer.
Mr. Thompson was a retired crane man for J & L and LTV Steel at their Aliquippa works. He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Butler Moose Lodge #64 where he had a Fellowship Degree. Her was past president of the MORA club. He was very active and enjoyed pitching horseshoes, hunting and fishing.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Esther M. Thompson whom he marriage on February 19, 1943, one son, James M. Thompson of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. John W. (Diana L.) Haugh of Grove City, Pennsylvania, five grandsons, one grand-daughter, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Yockim of San Diego, California, Mrs. Ruth Cygan, Mrs. Robert (Juanita) Schmeider both of Butler, Pennsylvania; one brother, Mr. Richard (Dick) L. Thompson of Flowery Branch, Georgia and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
