Sara Jane Moser, age 87 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 5:32 A.M. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born October 6, 1918 in Sharon, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Robert Young and the late Nannie Orr Young.
Mrs. Moser was a homemaker. She was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Moser was a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, a life member of the Tanglewood Senior Center and Century Club.
Mrs. Moser is survived by one son, Robert E. Moser of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; one daughter, Linda A. Moser of Butler, Pennsylvania; two Grandchildren, Five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Young of Wyckoff, New Jersey.
Mrs. Moser was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene D. Moser on September 19, 2001and by one son and two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 10:30 a.m with Reverend Clark Sawyer and the Reverend John Porter of the Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Barbara Jean Schaffner
August 29, 1962 - September 11, 2006
Barbara Jean Schaffner, age 44 of Laurel Lane, Valencia, Pennsylvania, died Monday, September 11, 2006 at 10:30 p.m. in the U.P.M.C. Shadyside Hospital.
Born August 29, 1962 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of Alma Jean Towzey and the late Robert William Henry.
Mrs. Schaffner was a purchasing agent for BEA. She was a 1980 graduate of Butler High School.
Mrs. Schaffner is survived by her husband, Bruce G. Schaffner whom she marriage on May 26, 2001, by son, Eric A. Schaffner; step-son, Adam Schaffner; two brothers, Robert P. Henry of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, Stephen D. and Jaymie Henry of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Schaffner was preceded in death by her father, Robert W. Henry.
Private visitation will be held.
Friends are invited to services held at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum, Butler County Memorial Park on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.

Albert W. Elliott, age 86 of North Main Street, Ext, formerly of Central Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, September 11, 2006 at 7:10 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born December 8, 1919 in Butler County, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Harvey O. Elliott and the late Emma L. Garing.
Mr. Elliott was a retired farmer and had worked at Moraine State Park. He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a 50-year member of the Unionville Grange. Mr. Elliott enjoyed traveling and model trains.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his second wife, Mary Anna (Bell) Elliott whom he marriage on February 15, 1986, by one son, William H. Elliott of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Karen) Cockroft of Butler, Pennsylvania; three step-daughter, Margaret Leitz of Placerville, California, Bonnie Fiel of Butler, Pennsylvania, Joyce Moorhead of Champagne, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two sisters, Allene Adkins and Lois Cochran both of Butler, Pennsylvania, three nieces and two nephews.
Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his first wife Leone Elliott and by two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 15, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert W. Strobel of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Eunice Lottie-Etta Turner Hixon, age 66, of Old Route 8, Middlesex Township, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, September 8, 2006 at 10:15 a.m. at her residence.
Born September 13, 1939 in Callery, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William Ray Turner and Eleanor Thompson. Mrs. Hixon was a member of the Evangel Heights Assembly of God in Sarver, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Hixon was a homemaker and she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Sunnyview Home and Valencia Woods Nursing Center. She also did private duty nursing. Mrs. Hixon enjoyed crafts and traveling. She enjoyed best spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Mrs. Hixon is survived by her husband Donald E. Hixon, whom she marriage on January 25, 1957; three sons, Eugene D. and his wife, Kimberly J. Hixon of Butler, Pennsylvania, Barry W. Hixon of Butler, Pennsylvania, Daniel M. and his wife, Rebecca L. Hixon of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Joy (Hixon) and her husband, Dr. Robin Cetnar of Butler, Pennsylvania, twelve grandchildren, Kristen Joy Hixon, Justin E. Hixon, Rachel K. Hixon, Joel R. Hixon, Luke D. Hixon, Todd D. Hixon, Kevin J. Hixon, Chad M. Hixon, Ashley J. Cetnar, Christopher W.R. Cetnar, Alexander D. Cetnar, and Noah B. Cetnar. She is also survived by one brother, Berdette and his wife Grace Turner of Butler, Pennsylvania; three sisters Mrs. Charles (Gwendolyn) Wood of Butler, Pennsylvania Mrs. Roger (Phyllis) Bacon of Canada, and Mrs. Nelson (Eileen) James of Butler, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Albert A. Swanson

Albert A. Swanson, age 87 of F-105 New Haven Court, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, September 8, 2006 at 5:45 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 13, 1919 in DuBois, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Edward Swanson and the late Mary DeMay.
In Mr. Swanson earlier years, he worked in retailing for Metzger-Wright Department Store in Warren, Pennsylvania. He then worked for Troutman's Department Store in Butler, Pennsylvania. Mr. Swanson was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WW II, were he received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 117.
Mr. Swanson is survived by his wife, Naomi J. (Hanner) Swanson whom he marriage on June 18, 1939, by three sons and their wives, Robert A. and Sara Swanson of Warren, Pennsylvania, William D. and Mary Ann Swanson of Butler, Pennsylvania, Donald G. and Joan Swanson of Butler, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ardel (Lillian) Gehman of North Chili, New York, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Swanson was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

James Arthur Lobaugh
August 16, 1930 - September 6, 2006
James Arthur Lobaugh, age 76 of Cantrell Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 16, 1930 in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late John A. Lobaugh and the late Sara Miller Lobaugh.
Mr. Lobaugh worked at the Mill, Armco Steel, retiring in August of 1992. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Butler High School and attending the Butler Business School. He was a staff sergeant in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Lobaugh was a member of the American Legion Post #0778, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #64 and a social member of the SOI. He enjoyed traveling and was a bingo caller for 40 years.
Mr. Lobaugh is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Noblit Lobaugh and whom he marriage on May 4, 1955, one son, Douglas J. Lobaugh and his wife Theresa of Livingston, Montana; three grandsons, Justin Lobaugh, David Lobaugh, Scott Lobaugh of Livingston, Montana; one sister, Phyllis Logan of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; one niece, Nancy Haggerty of Washington, Pennsylvania; and two nephews, Mark Logan, and Tom Logan both of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Lobaugh was preceded in death by one brother, John W. Lobaugh.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, September 8, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Private interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
