James (Mouse) C. Miles, Age 59 of 823 Sunset Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, August 13, 2004 at 11:10 p.m. in the Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville, Pennsylvania.
Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on August 11, 1945, he was the son of Clarence H. Miles and Gladys E. McCracken Miles.
He attended North Main Street Church of God. Mr. Miles had been employed as a painter at Pullman Standard until the plants closing and then became disabled after contracting muscular dystrophy.
He is survived by his mother, Gladys E. Miles of Butler, Pennsylvania, one son, Stephen A. Miles of Butler, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Bronchak and Mrs. Mary Lou Choff both of Butler. Pennsylvania, several nieces and nephews, by his longtime friend and caregiver Randy Shuler of Butler, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his father.
Private visitation and services were held on Sunday August 15, 2004. Burial was held Monday morning in the South Plain Grove Cemetery, Plain Grove Township Lawrence County.

Esther M. Jamison
June 24, 1922 - August 10, 2004
Esther M. Jamison, 82, formerly of North Main Street Extension, Butler, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 24, 1922 in Worthington, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Clyde Rumbaugh and Beulah Bowser.
Mrs. Jamison was employed as a welder for 13 years for Pullman Standard. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church, formerly known as Butler Baptist Temple, for over 45 years. She was a member of Tanglewood Senior Center.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Jacqueline) Warburton of Butler, and Mrs. Judith Hartman of Falls of Rough, Kentucky, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, three nieces and one nephew.
Preceding her in death were her three husbands, Alden Pore, Glenn Bowser and Raymond Jamison, two brothers, four sisters and a great grandson.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Thursday August 12, 2004 from 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday August 12, 2004, following visitation, at 9:00 p.m. with Reverend Steve Fisher, her church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Thelma J. McConnell

Thelma J. McConnell, 83 of 110 Pine Street, Butler, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 12:25 a.m. in Sunnyview Home.
Born December 20, 1920 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Ord and Charlotte Brown.
Mrs. McConnell was a graduate of Butler High School. She was a member of North Street Christian Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. McConnell was a fifty-year member of the Maqueda Chapter
# 412 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem #32.
Surviving are her husband Herbert McConnell, who she marriage June 13, 1940, her son, Jack H. McConnell of Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, her daughter, Mrs. Donald (Norma Jean) Martin of Fort Worth, Texas, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her one brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Thursday August 12, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Friday July 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert C. Huber, pastor of her church, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of All Faiths Mausoleum at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Members and officers of Maqueda Chapter #421 of The Order of the Eastern Star will assemble at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home to perform Eastern Star memorial services.
Violet L. Gibson

Violet L. Gibson, 88 of Butler, died Friday, August 6, 2004 at 8:10 a.m. in Lowrie House.
Born January 5, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Leland Smith and Blanche Shockey.
Mrs. Gibson was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member of the Armco Country Club and she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Mary Jo DeMatteis of Butler, four granddaughters, Shari Penrod, Lisa Littlejohn, Vicki Zihmer, and Amy Burton all of Butler, her grandson, Mike Gibson, Jr. also of Butler, eight great grandchildren, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Debbie Gibson of Butler and all her loving friends at Lowrie House.
Preceding her in death were her husband M. B. "Mickey" Gibson who was deceased July 28, 1980, one son, Michael D. Gibson and one daughter, Sharon L. Garbish.

Norman S. Grooms, 74 of Saxonburg, died Thursday, August 5, 2004 at 7:35 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born February 8, 1930 in Springdale, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Samuel Grooms and Martha Sipes.
Mr. Grooms was employed at Agway in Butler and Saxonburg. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Butler. He was a trustee of his church and he was a member of the Berean Sunday School class. Mr. Grooms enjoyed camping, gardening and woodworking.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn M. English Grooms who he marriage December 24, 1953, two sons, John N. Grooms of Stuart, Virginia and David A. Grooms of Butler, two daughters, Darlene Grooms and Mrs. Mark (Joanne) Hughes both of Butler, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Thomas Grooms of Dayton, Pennsylvania and Lester Grooms of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, two sisters, Lillie Mae Grooms of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Lucille Jordon of Cabot, Pennsylvania and a number of nieces and nephews.

Hilma G. Allshouse, 84 formerly of Germaine Road, Butler, died Sunday, August 1, 2004 at 5:25 a.m. in Sunnyview Home.
Born June 23, 1920 in Fairmount City, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Edward P. Nale and Eva A. Lerch.
Mrs. Allshouse was a homemaker. She was a member of North Main Street Church of God, and was a member of the Keenagers Sunday School class of her church. She was an alumni of the Clarion Limestone High School, class of 1938.
Mrs. Allshouse is survived by her husband Ivan Jack Allshouse, whom she marriage on February 6, 1942, by one daughter, Mrs. Linda C. Neyman-Smith of Butler, Pennsylvania, one son, Keith I. Allshouse of Durham, North Carolina, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Florence George of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Allshouse is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
