Kenneth Werner "Moe" McCandless, age 76, of Westview Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, October 27, 2006 at his residence.
Born November 14, 1929 in Mars, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lydia McCandless.
Mr. McCandless was Lutheran by faith.
Mr. McCandless was employed for 30 years as a switchman for Sprint United Telephone and retired in 1987. He enjoyed baseball, including the Butler Eagle County League. He played for the Mars and Callery teams from 1952-1961. He was a member of the Slovak Golf League.
Mr. McCandless was a member of the VFW Post #249. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a sergeant in Germany.
Mr. McCandless is survived by his wife, Veronica C. McCandless, whom he marriage on January 9, 1953; a son, Ronald McCandless and his wife Trudy of Loudon, Tennessee; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Chuba and her husband John of Butler, Pennsylvania; a sister, Dorothy Fox of Butler, Pennsylvania; two granddaughters, Kendra Chuba of Middle River, Maryland and Megan Chuba of Butler, two step-grandchildren, Butch McWilliams of Loudon, Tennessee and Holly Forman of Indianapolis, Indiana, and three step-great-grandchildren, Ted, William, and Jacob Forman all of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, October 29, 2006 from 1 to 4.
Private interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Blind Association of Butler, 322 North McKean Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Anne Celestin
December 14, 1925 - October 26, 2006
Anne Celestin, age 81 of Miramar, Florida, died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 7:04 a.m. at the home of her son Cody D. Celestin of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Born December 14, 1925 in Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Oralus Dorvil and the late Frazia Edouard.
She was protestant by faith.
Mrs. Celestin was retired from Rockland State Hospital, Rockland County, New York.
Mrs. Celestin is survived by her husband, J. George Celestin; two sons, Cody D. Celestin of Butler, Pennsylvania and Gerald Celestin of Columbus, Ohio, one daughter, Marie Celestin of Hollywood, Florida, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Bakus Dorvil of Haiti and Valaire Dorvil, of Florida, two sisters, Germaine Dorvil and Suzanne Dorvil both of Florida and fifteen nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Celestin was preceded in death by a sister.
There will be no public visitation. A private memorial service will be held by her family at a later date.

Timothy P. Balfour
June 18, 1938 - October 24, 2006
Timothy P. Balfour, age 68 of Harmony Street, Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 in the Butler V A Medical Center.
Born June 18, 1938 in Renfrew, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late John C. Balfour and Martha M. Zinn Balfour.
Mr. Balfour was a salesman. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving as a Captain. He was an alumni of Butler High school class of 1956 and he graduated from Allegheny College with a BA Degree in 1960.
Mr. Balfour is survived by his mother, Mrs. Martha M. Balfour of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Sheridan of Butler, Pennsylvania, Beverly Balfour of Thousand Oaks, California; one niece and one nephew.
A memorial services will be held at the Connoquenessing United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Nancy Shute officiating.
Howard O. "Razor" Jaillet
June 17, 1924 - October 23, 2006
Howard O. "Razor" Jaillet, age 82 of Chicora Medical Center, Chicora, Pennsylvania, formerly of the Arbor Apartments, died Monday, October 23, 2006 at 1:20 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 17, 1924 in Ray Milton, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Howard Woodham Jaillet and the late Ida May Henderson Jaillet.
Mr. Jaillet was a truck driver for Don Martin and Wayne Sell. He attended Christ Outreach Church. He was a member of the U.S. Army serving in WW II were he received two medals; the WW II Victory Medal and American Campaign Medal. Mr. Jaillet was a member of the Joseph T. Black Post #249 V.F.W., and a member of the Butler Elks Lodge #170. Mr. Jaillet enjoyed fishing and playing with his grandchildren.
Mr. Jaillet is survived by his wife, Betty Dally Jaillet whom he marriage on November 6, 1946, by two sons, Howard L. Jaillet of Easly, South Carolina, David M. Jaillet of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Mrs. Edd (Helen) Orsborn of Renfrew, Pennsylvania; fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jaillet was preceded in death by two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 26, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, October 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Hughie Orsborn officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Eleanor A. Green
October 8, 1908 - October 23, 2006
Eleanor A. Green, age 98 of YWCA Personal Care Home, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of the Lafayette Apartments, died Monday, October 23, 2006 at 2:30 a.m. in the Sunnyview Nursing Home.
Born October 8, 1908 in Blainesburg, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Isaac Valentine Kinder and the late Mary Virginia Watkins.
Mrs. Green was a schoolteacher for over 15 years in Donora, Pennsylvania and a substitute teacher for over 10 years in Butler. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Green was a member of the Tuesday Musical Group, the Butler Women's Club (Senior Group), the Retired Teachers Association and the Friends of the Library Group. She was also a member of the Methodist Church Choir for over 27 years. She was a 1928 graduate of California State Normal School and one of the oldest alumni.
Mrs. Green is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kay Cree of Cowansville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Vee Pauli and her husband Roy of Scranton, Pennsylvania, two sons, Kenneth Chester Filson Amos, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania; Dennis Amos and his wife Alesia of Moneta, Virginia, a step-son Amos Amos and his wife Mamie of Fort Worth, Texas, a daughter-in-law Dianne Amos of Butler, Pennsylvania, five grandsons, four grand-daughters, one step-granddaughter, seven great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, one step-great granddaughter, one step-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Kenneth Chester Filson Amos who passed away in 1977 and by her second husband, Mr. William H. Green who passed away in 1983. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jay, one great-granddaughter, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 27, 2006 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Tom Holman of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Bentleyville, Pennsylvania.

Dean L. Bell
February 16, 1926 - October 22, 2006
Dean Leroy Bell, age 80 of Westwood Manor, Butler, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family on October 22, 2006 at 10:10 p.m., at his residence.
Born February 16, 1926 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Lee Roy Bell and the late Bessie Fair Bell.
Mr. Bell was a Chief of Purchase and Contract for Veterans Administration Hospital where he retired in May of 1984. He also was a freelance Photographer. Mr. Bell was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the Kiwanis, United Commercial Travelers and Eleventh Air Force Association. Mr. Bell served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the Aleutian Islands as a Cryptographic Technician. Mr. Bell was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle who spent much time with his family. He served as a Ruling Elder at North Washington Presbyterian Church and at Trinity Presbyterian Church as well as serving on various committees. He enjoyed photography and playing golf.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Peg (McKenzie) Bell to whom he marriage on July 26, 1958, three sons, Jeff Bell of San Ramon, California, Doug Bell and his wife Mickey of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mark Bell and his wife Claudia of Glens Falls, New York; one daughter, Cindy Sheppeck and her husband Bill of Butler, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren: Amanda, Joshua and Caleb Sheppeck of Butler, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth, Philipp, Joanna and Rebekah Bell of Glens Falls, New York and Devynn Bell of San Ramon, California, four nieces and three nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Dennis Molnar of Wallace Memorial Church, Greentree, Pennsylvania officiating. Interment will follow in North Washington Cemetery.
