Vera J. Tack, 83, formerly of Monroe Street, died 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 in Chicora Medical Center.
Born January 16, 1920 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Carl E. Tack and Ruth J. Yarger.
Miss Tack was employed as a bookkeeper for Pittsburgh Home Savings & Loan, Butler Office. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. June Bruce of Chicora, PA, three nieces and three nephews.
A brother preceded her in death.
Private services were held Friday January 2, 2003 at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. with her church pastor, the Rev. J. David Panther, officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Jerry L. Zimmerman
January 23, 1939 - December 31, 2003
Jerry L. Zimmerman, 64 of Butler, died at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2003 in U.P.M.C. Presbyterian Hospital, Oakland.
Born January 23, 1939 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Daniel W. Zimmerman and Gertrude E. (Dolly) Piper.
Mr. Zimmerman was employed by the Castle Rubber Company in East Butler as a Banbury mixer and he retired on February 28, 2001. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Jean Meier Zimmerman whom he marriage June 23, 1973, four daughters, Mrs. John (Tracy) Fields of Rimersburg, PA, Mrs. Ronald (Pamela) Marburger of East Brady, PA, Mrs. Michael (Amy) Sheaffer of Butler, PA, and Mrs. Michael (Leigh Ann) Marzullo of Butler, PA, twelve grandchildren and one great grandson, a sister, Mrs. Morgan (Mildred) Geibel of East Butler, PA and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his two sons and two brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, Friday January 2, 2004 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday January 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jack Nanz pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Butler officiating. Interment will be private.
Michael C. Maker
July 29, 1950 - December 26, 2003
Michael C. Maker, 53 of Butler, died 2:00 a.m. Friday, December 26, 2003 in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 29, 1950 in Butler, PA, he was the son of Michael Maker and Esther Scigliano.
Mr. Maker was employed as a highway maintenance worker for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He was Catholic by faith.
Surviving are one brother, Donald Maker of Texas and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Thomas Charles Robson
October 17, 1928 - December 22, 2003
Thomas Charles (Chuck) Robson, 75 of Hooker Road, Karns City, died Monday, December 22, 2003 at 9:18 a.m. at his residence.
Born October 17, 1928 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Thomas William Robson, Jr. and Florence Whitesell.
He worked as a Rolling Mill Operator for Magnetics, Inc., East Butler retiring in 1992 after 37 1/2 years of service. He was a member of National Rifle Association and A.A.R.P. He enjoyed hunting, camping and boating. Mr. Robson was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War serving his country in Germany.
Mr. Robson is survived by his wife, Hazel Buchanan Robson, one son, Thomas Charles Robson, Jr. of Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Debora Lynn Robson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, two grand-daughters, Amanda Lou Robson, and Angelia Marie Robson, and also two nephews.
Mr. Robson is preceded in death by his brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Friday, December 26, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert Mathias officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery.

Ruth E. Hedglin
February 25, 1924 - December 17, 2003
Ruth E. Hedglin, age 79 of Cherry Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 10:50 a.m. at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born February 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Redmond and Hazel Knauff.
Mrs. Hedglin was a homemaker, she loved shopping flea markets and yard sales.
She was marriage to Donald Edward Hedglin, Sr, he preceded her in death on December 29, 1987.
She is survived by one son: Donald Edward Hedglin, Jr.of Butler, Pennsylvania, two daughters: Mrs. Edward Bonnie McCormick and Mrs. William (Linda) Cashmere both of Butler, Pennsylvania, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters: Mrs. Loyal (Edna) White of Hillsville, Pennsylvania and Sylvia Jean Wansitler of New Castle, Pennsylvania, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Family and friends of Ruth E. Hedglin will be received on Friday, December 19, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc. 124 East North St. Butler, Pennsylvania 16001. There will be no funeral services at this time.
Interment will Follow in The Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, to the Diabetes Association or directly to the family to help defray expenses.
Phyllis L. Kerr
January 18, 1930 - December 17, 2003
Phyllis L. Kerr, 73 of Cherokee Drive, Butler, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 1:19 a.m. at her residence.
Born January 18, 1930 in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Charles E. Fehl and Irene H. Duncan.
Mrs. Kerr was a retired cashier for A & P Tea Company in Butler. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Butler. Mrs. Kerr was a member of the Adult Choir, Women's Missionary Fellowship, and active in church visitation. Mrs. Kerr also taught Junior church on Sunday. She taught Joy Club and Bible Seekers Club from her home. She was a member of Berean Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Kerr is survived by her husband Stanley K. Kerr, whom she marriage on August 24, 1951; one daughter, Gail J. Kerr at home, one step-son, Dennis L. Kerr of Butler, Pennsylvania, one grand-daughter, number of nieces and nephews, four sisters, Mrs. Irene Nichols of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. John (Betty) Shields of East Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Alfred (Ella) Dean of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Earl (Diane) Fennell of East Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Kerr is preceded in death by one sister and one stepdaughter.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Friday, December 19, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend David Maitland officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Jane Berg
March 14, 1901 - December 16, 2003
Jane Berg, 102 of Sarver, formerly of New York City, New York, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 11:20 a.m. at Fair Winds Manor.
Born March 14, 1901 in Bradford, England, she was the daughter of Samuel Reuben and Esther Gladstone. Mrs. Berg came to America in 1910.
Mrs. Berg was a homemaker. She was a member of United Order of True Sisters".
Mrs. Berg is survived by two sons, Larry M. Berg of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Irwin Berg of Commack, New York, Six Grandchildren, Fourteen Great-Grandchildren, number of nieces and nephews, and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Berg marriage her husband Herman Berg on August 21, 1927 in New York City, New York; he preceded her in death on June 13, 1984. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Graveside services will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Fairview, New Jersey.
