Gloria M. James, 76 of Stone Church Road, Prospect, died Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 9:00 p.m. at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born April 25, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Joseph Frederick and Marie Bauer Brunner Leseman.
Mrs. James was a homemaker. She was protestant by faith.
Mrs. James is survived by her husband Harold James, whom she marriage in 1946 one son, Gary L. James of Grand Blanc, Michigan, one daughter, Mrs. David (Sandra) Allen of Butler, Pennsylvania, Five Grandchildren, Five Great-Grandchildren, one brother, Samuel Leseman, two sisters, Patricia Leseman of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, June Miller of Washington, Pennsylvania, and a number of niece and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Monday, December 8, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Dennis Molnar officiating. Interment will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.

Doris L. Vogt
October 24, 1921 - December 4, 2003
Doris L. Vogt, 82 of Sugarcreek Rest in Worthington, died Thursday, December 4, 2003 in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
Born October 24, 1921 in Chicora, PA, she was the daughter of Carl A. Schultz and Clara Faull.
During WWII, Mrs. Vogt worked at Aircraft Plant in Lima, OH. She also was employed as a salesperson for J.C. Penney's for many years in Butler and she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock, PA. Mrs. Vogt also belonged to the Order of Amaranth #145 and the Clarion Chapter #267 Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Kathy) Madden of Butler, PA, two sons, Larry William Vogt of Grove City, PA, and Dr. Danny E. Vogt of Delaware, OH, ten grandchildren and one great granddaughter, two brothers, Carl A. Schultz of San Gabriel, CA, and Frank R. Schultz of Jackson, MI, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband William J. Vogt who was deceased July 30, 2002, one sister, one brother and one infant sister.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Saturday December 6, 2003 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday December 6, 2003 at 8:00 pm with Reverend Michelle Nickodemus, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

Stefanie L. Albert, 18 of Sawmill Run Road, Butler, died Monday, December 1, 2003 at 6:47 p.m. in Findley Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania as a result of an automobile accident.
Born May 24, 1985 in Riverside, California, she was the daughter of Francis J. Albert and Dawn Jordon.
Miss Albert was a student at Butler Senior High School.
Miss Albert is survived by her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. David (Dawn) Wilson of Butler, Pennsylvania, her father, Francis J. Albert of Butler, Pennsylvania, her fiancé, Oliver (Klaus) Euler of Butler, Pennsylvania, a sister, Brittany Albert, three brothers, Jason and Shane Albert, and David Wilson, Jr., her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (Anita) Jordan, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Thursday December 4, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Services will be held at the Community Alliance Church, Friday December 5, 2003 at 11:00 am with Reverend Dennis Krajacic officiating.
Private interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Katherine E. Herlinger
March 21, 1918 - January 31, 2004
Katherine E. Herlinger, 85 of White Oak Drive, Butler, died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 6:10 a.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 21, 1918 in Butler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John J. Caine and Florence Billingsley.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Herlinger was a member of First United Methodist Church, member of the Pilgrim Sunday School Class and Queen Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge #463 and a member of the A.A.R.P. and Tanglewood Senior Center.
Mrs. Herlinger is survived by one son, David A. Herlinger of Butler, Pennsylvania, One Grand-daughter, One Great Grand-son, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Herlinger is preceded in death by her husband Harold C. Herlinger, who passed away on June 1, 1968, by one son, one grandson, two sisters and one brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Joan Rauschenberger
September 13, 1937 - January 29, 2004
Joan Shumaker Rauschenberger of Poulsbo, Washington passed away at the age of 66 on January 29, 2004 at the Martha and Mary Health Center in Poulsbo following a long illness.
She was born Thelma Joan Shumaker in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Clyde S. and Thelma Grace Patterson Shumaker of Meridian, Pennsylvania, on September 13, 1937. She was a Charter Member of the Meridian Assembly #94 of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls and marched with the Meridian Fife and Drum Corps. Joan was also a former member and organist of the Meridian United Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Butler High School in 1955, and received her Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Denison University in 1959. During college, Joan worked as a teller at Mellon National Bank. Following graduation she taught music for schools in Upper St. Clair Township and Mars, Pennsylvania.
On Thanksgiving Day in 1959, Joan marriage Glenn William Rauschenberger in Butler, Pennsylvania. Before they moved to Grantham, Pennsylvania in 1962, Joan worked as the Butler County Law Librarian. In 1979, the family moved to Poulsbo, Washington where Joan was active in the local Order of Rainbow for Girls, a member of Chapter #235 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the parent's club of the H.K. White chapter of the Order of DeMolay.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and in 1993, her husband Glenn. She is survived by her daughter Ann Cheney of Seattle, Washington and her son Mark Rauschenberger, of Rockford, Illinois; her sister Jane Glennie of Granville, Ohio; and her brother John Shumaker, of Grantville, Pennsylvania. She was "Aunt Joan" to three nieces and five nephews and a lifelong friend to countless others.
Viewing and celebration of Joan's life will take place on Saturday and Sunday, February 7th and 8th, 2004 from 1pm to 3pm at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home in Butler Pennsylvania. Interment will be at the Butler County Memorial Park in Butler. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to your local Hospice or to charity of your choosing.
Rue N. Snyder
December 27, 1915 - January 26, 2004
Rue N. Snyder, 88 of Blanco, Texas died Monday, January 26, 2004 at 4:36 p.m. at Live Oak Medical Center, Blanco, Texas.
Born December 27, 1915 in Timblin, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of H. Frank Snyder and Olive A. Rugh.
He was a salesman for Triangle Gasoline Company retiring after 40 years. Mr. Snyder attended Butler Business College, former member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Victor Sunday School Class and a former teacher of the Willing Bible Students Sunday School Class. He was also a former member of U. C. T. Butler Chapter and the MORA Club.
Mr. Snyder is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth E. (Judy) Mabbott of Blanco, Texas, one son, Dennis Snyder of San Antonio, Texas, one sister, Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Spinneweber of Butler, Pennsylvania, one brother, Bernard J. Snyder of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Eight Grandchildren, Five Great-Grandchildren, Number of Nieces and Nephews.
Mr. Snyder is preceded in death by his wife, F. Eleanor Snyder, who passed away on December 14, 1996 and a grandchild.

Archie Thomas Schreffler, 54 of Virginia Avenue, Butler, died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at his residence.
Born December 2, 1949 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Archie T. Schreffler, Sr. and Martha Annetta Hepler.
He worked at odd jobs around the area.
Mr. Schreffler is survived by a sister, Shirley Ann Rice of Grove City, Pennsylvania, and one brother, Larry Frank Hepler of New Castle, Pennsylvania.
Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
