Mrs. Mildred Dietrich Kaltenbaugh, age 88 of Freeport Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 9:15 p.m. at her home
Born in Herman, Pennsylvania, Summit Township, on September 18, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Samuel William Dietrich and Mary Catherine Risch.
Mrs. Kaltenbaugh was previously employed at Troutman's and J.C. Penney Department stores as a salesperson. She also was employed at Saxonburg Ceramics, A & P Grocery Store, as a cashier and a secretary at Summit Township Elementary School for five years. Mrs. Kaltenbaugh was affiliated with Faith Fellowship Alliance Church. She served as secretary for the Butler County Christian Endeavor Union for five years. She served as president for The Butler Prayer Bank for thirty years, and also taught bible school for over fifty-five years at church and in her home. Mrs. Kaltenbaugh graduated high school in 1934. She was an accomplished quilter, and has made over two hundred quilts.
She is survived by one son David Kaltenbaugh, of Butler, Pennsylvania, two daughters, Melanie Strong of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Gloria Curtis of Butler, Pennsylvania, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Alberta Bouch of Summit Township, Mrs. Wilda Claypool of Florida, and by several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kaltenbaugh was preceded in death by her husband Alvin John Kaltenbaugh on July 9, 2003, and by one son, one sister and four brothers.
Friends and family of Mildred Kaltenbaugh will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Friday, July 16, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church on Saturday, July 17, 2004 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church with Reverend Richard Jenks of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church and Reverend David Vercilli officiating. Interment will follow in Summit United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Kelly H. Greiner King, 36 of Lawsonham Street, Rimersburg, died Monday, July 12, 2004 at 11:50 p.m. at her residence.
Born July 21, 1967 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Albert F. Greiner and Helen R. Kosher.
Mrs. King was a homemaker. She was Protestant by faith and she attended Mars High School.
Mrs. King is survived by her husband Will B. King, whom she marriage on October 10, 1998, by one daughter, Valerie Graham at home, one son, Christopher Graham of Valencia, Pennsylvania, her parents, Albert F. and Helen R. Greiner of Valencia, Pennsylvania, three brothers, John "Buddy" Makoby, Guy L. Greiner, Greg M. Greiner all of Valencia, Pennsylvania, one sister, Mrs. John (Stacey) Smith of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, from Thursday, July 15, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., Friday, July 16, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Glade Run Church Cemetery.
Albert L. "Skip" Brown
August 6, 1926 - July 8, 2004
Albert L. "Skip" Brown, Jr., 77 of Dutchtown Road, Butler, died Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 6, 1926 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Albert L. Brown and Rose Ann Christy.
Mr. Brown worked in Plant Protection for Butler Armco (AK Steel). He was an active member of Summit Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and WW II. He was a member of the Jefferson Grange #1373, VFW Post 249, Armco Retirees Association. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed bowling and was a former Cub Scout leader. He was a devoted husband, loving father and the greatest of grandfathers.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Jean C. Emery Brown, whom he marriage on May 10, 1947, by one daughter, Jeannie and her husband George Cassioli of Butler, Pennsylvania, two sons, Gary and his wife Paula Brown of Butler, Pennsylvania, Albert L. "Skip" and his wife Idelle Brown of Butler, Pennsylvania, six grandchildren, Bennett and Casey Cassioli, Jessica, Erin, Ben and Jason Brown, one sister, Mrs. Nancy Collins of Butler, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his five sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA, on Saturday, July 10, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Summit Presbyterian Church, Sunday, July 11, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with interim pastor Reverend James Boos officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Alvin Vernon Jacobson, Sr.
April 10, 1937 - July 5, 2004
Alvin Vernon Jacobson, Sr., 67 of Butler, died Monday, July 5, 2004 at 8:30 p.m. in West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Born April 10, 1937 in Smock, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Charles Kennedy and Florence Long. He was raised by his adoptive parents Mr. and Mrs. Andrew (Rose) Jacobson.
Mr. Jacobson was employed as a welder for Pullman-Standard and he also had worked for nine years for the BP Gas Station on Duffy Road. Recently, he was an employee of Sedan Service Company in Butler. Mr. Jacobson was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church where he was active as an elder and as an usher. He formerly served as an usher for the Kathryn Kuhlman Ministry and he was one of the founders of the Christian United Storehouse. Mr. Jacobson was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Joan E. McCandless Jacobson, who he marriage May 15, 1953, four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Darlene) Jackson of Ontario, Canada, Mrs. Charles (Gloria) Hilliard of Eau Claire, Pennsylvania, Ms. Bonnie Jacobson and Mrs. Charlene Baker both at home, three sons, Alvin V. Jacobson, Jr. of Emlenton, Pennsylvania, Andrew E. Jacobson and Jamie L. Jacobson both of Butler, Pennsylvania, twenty-two grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Robert (Edna) Smith of Linesville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Nancy Smith of Buena Vista, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Charles (Rose Ella) Wilson of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania and Mrs. David (Alice) Tachoir of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, and four brothers, Tom Kennedy of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, Walter Kennedy of Linesville, Pennsylvania, Russell Kennedy of Ashtubula, Ohio and Samuel Kennedy of North Carolina, and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his thirteen brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, Friday July 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Richard P. Jenks, his pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in North Butler Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Thelma Mae Harvey, age 78 of North Duffy Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away, Monday, July 5, 2004 at 12:00 noon at her home.
Born in Belfrey, Kentucky on October 16, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William Alexander Hostetter and Stella Hearn Hostetter.
Mrs. Harvey was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Maynard Sylvester Harvey in 1967.
Mrs. Harvey is survived by seven sons, Gary Wayne Harvey of Roanoke, Virginia, Larry Zane Harvey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Harry Lane Harvey of Chicago, Illinois, Barry Ray Harvey of Butler, Pennsylvania, Gerald Lee Harvey of Butler, Pennsylvania, Maynard Sylvester Harvey, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania and Terry Lynn Harvey of Butler, Pennsylvania, three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Vinita Elaine) Thomas of Hubert, North Carolina, Mrs. Dale (Dreama Kay) Lumley of Butler, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Brian (Sherry Marie) Poloniecki of St. Mary's, Florida, nineteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, one brother, James Hostetter of Fayetteville, West Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Catherine T. Mitchell

Catherine T. Mitchell, 86 of North McKean Street, Butler, died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at 9:25 p.m. in Chicora Medical Center.
Born March 20, 1918 in Washington, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of George Thompson and Elizabeth Miller.
Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker. Starting while she was in college she was an organist for various local churches for over 60 years. She formerly taught organ at the Butler High School. For many years she was an active member of the Tuesday Musical Club, Garden Club, Junior Womens Club, past president of the Butler Womens Club, Butler County Womens Reading Club, and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was an active member of Calvary Church then Church of the Living Word then a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of America.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her husband Loyal R. Mitchell, four sons, Loyal R. Mitchell, Jr. of Utica, New York, John R. Mitchell of Schenectady, New York, William G. Mitchell of Butler, Pennsylvania, Thomas J. Mitchell of Butler, Pennsylvania, one daughter, Susan E. Mitchell of Orlando, Florida, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one brother, Robert M. Thompson of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Mitchell is preceded in death by her two brothers.

Services will be held at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend H. Curtis McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Alice Marie Hoffman, 89, formerly of Muntz Avenue, Butler, Dayton, Pennsylvania, and Marlboro, Maryland, died Friday, July 2, 2004 at 1:10 a.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 8, 1915 in Bryan, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Andrew Clyde Cogley and Fanny Rupp.
She was co-owner and operator with her late husband of the Ford Motor Company in Dayton, Pennsylvania and the Forest Hills Motel in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She was a member of Summit United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Barbara) McKee of Butler, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Richard (Renee) Skinner of Peachtree City, Georgia, two grandsons, Shawn McKee of Madison, Wisconsin, David McKee of Rolla, Missouri, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Aleen White and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hoffman was preceded in death by her husband Reed C. Hoffman, who passed away on December 10, 1992, two brothers and three sisters.
