Jack McNary Neill, age 60, of East Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, December 25, 2006 at 10:17 p.m. in the emergency room of the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born October 11, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of John G. and Virginia McNary Neill.
He was employed as a side loader operator for Marmon Keystone Company. He was a former board member and former active parent in the East Butler Sparks. He was a former member of East Butler Fireman's Department and previously worked for the Butler Ambulance Service. He was president of Emergency Medical Systems of Butler County and served on the 911 board.
Mr. Neill was a member of Zion's Praise Tabernacle Church in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was an elder in his church and had a servant's heart. His greatest goal in life was to worship the Lord Jesus Christ and to do the will of God and to leave that legacy to his family. He was a man of God and loved to read the Bible.
Mr. Neill is survived by his wife, Terri L. Kunselman Neill, whom he marriage on March 18, 2000, his daughter, Dionne L. Neill Rose and her husband, Edward, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his granddaughter, Madison Bea Rose; two sisters, Dottie Delle Rauch and her husband, Henry, of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Mary Virginia Slusarz of Erie, Pennsylvania; a brother, Kenneth McNary Neill and his wife, Karen, of Sarasota, Florida; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
One son, David Dwight Neill, preceded him in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, December 29, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Randall Ietto of Zion's Praise Tabernacle Church officiating.

Alton J. Phipps
November 14, 1915 - December 23, 2006
Alton J. Phipps, age 91, of Sherman Avenue, East Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 1:55 a.m. in the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born November 14, 1915 in Girard, Texas, he was the son of Claude E. and Ethel O'Neill Phipps.
Mr. Phipps retired as a supervisor for Leon Creek Power Plant.
He was very active as a layman in churches in Texas, Indiana and Arkansas. He was a member of North Main Street Church of God. He was a member of the 60 Plus and the Keenagers Sunday School class. He and his wife, Dorothy, served as ministers of visitation at North Main Street Church of God.
Mr. Phipps was a veteran of the U.S. Air Corp and WW II.
Mr. Phipps is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Sweet Phipps, whom he marriage on August 9, 1940, one son, Reverend A. C. and Nita Phipps of Troy, Michigan; one grandson, Reverend Ryan and Andrea Phipps of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Mrs. Geneva Davis of San Antonia, Texas, Mrs. Claudine Strackbein of Cedar Park, Texas, and Mrs. Betty Lou Waymer of Georgetown, Texas; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
A brother preceded Mr. Phipps in death.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday December 26, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday December 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with his son, Pastor A. C. Phipps of the Evanswood Church of God in Troy, Michigan and his grandson, Pastor Ryan Phipps of Discovery Christian Church in Southside Campus, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania officiating. Reverend David Brown and Reverend Kenneth C. Hall of North Main Street Church of God will also be officiating. Interment will follow in Gruenwald Cemetery.
Richard F. Chaffin
November 21, 1938 - December 22, 2006
Richard F. Chaffin, age 68 of the Sunnyview Nursing Home passed away Friday, December 22, 2006 at 1:36 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born November 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Donald H. Chaffin and Anna Weis Chaffin.
Mr. Chaffin was the last surviving member of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a niece.
Graveside services for Richard F. Chaffin will be held at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut, Pennsylvania on Thursday January 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
Alfred Dale Swigart
August 30, 1920 - January 31, 2007
Alfred Dale Swigart, age 86 of Morton Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 4:15 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
Born August 30, 1920 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Alfred Day Swigart and the late Anna Margaret Hetrick.
Mr. Swigart worked in records division for U.S. Government, at the Underground Mines, Boyers, Pennsylvania. He was protestant by faith. Mr. Swigart was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in WW II. He was a member of #272 Butler Lodge F. & A.M., the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, the Butler County Amateur Radio Association. Mr. Swigart did the 10-10 weather net weather reports every night after 10 p.m. He was also a member of American Radio Relay League and a member of the Civil War Round Table.
Mr. Swigart is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Olive (Taggart) Swigart, by two daughters, Dr. Valerie Swigart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Lynn Large of Butler, Pennsylvania; one son, Garrison Swigart of North Carolina; six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one sister, Ms. Joan M. Swigart of Gallup, New Mexico and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Swigart was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, February 3, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. by the Masonic Lodge #272 F. & A.M.
Officers and members of the V.F.W. Post #249 and the American Legion, Post #778 of Lyndora will conduct military honors at the Cemetery.
Chester M. Monjar
February 15, 1908 - January 28, 2007
Chester Maxwell "Max" Monjar, age 98 of New Caste Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at 11:20 p.m. in the Butler V A Medical Center. Following his wife's death he lived with Chuck and Claribel Martin of Butler.
Born February 15, 1908 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Ralph Sylvester Monjar and the late Linnie Edna Taylor.
Mr. Monjar was a machine operator for AK (Armco) Steel retiring in 1970 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he served as a former elder and trustee. He was a member of the Armco Veterans Club and the Armco Golf Club. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Monjar was a member of the Joseph T. Black, Post 249 V.F.W..
Mr. Monjar is survived by two nieces and one nephew, Brother Inlaw, & Sister Inlaw.
Mr. Monjar was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Beatrice Monjar whom he marriage on June 26, 1948 and she passed away on November 18, 2003.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Trinity Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend William E. King of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Wilbert C. "Will" Rahiser, Jr.
November 11, 1944 - January 27, 2007
Wilbert C. (Will) Rahiser Jr., age 62 of West Metzger Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 3:15 p.m. in the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
Born November 11, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Wilbert C. Rahiser and the late Margaret Kline Rahiser.
Mr. Rahiser was a teacher of Social Studies for Butler Area School District, retiring in 2000, after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Rahiser was a member of the 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry Division of Retired Vietnam War Veterans. He was a recipient of five Bronze Stars and three Purple Hearts. Mr. Rahiser enjoyed traveling, reading, and golfing. He was a alumni of Waynesburg College were he received his Bachelor of Education and he received his Teaching Certificate from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Rahiser is survived by his wife, Barbara A. (Barrett) Rahiser of Butler, whom he marriage December 7, 1974, by one sister, Mrs. Douglas (Nancy) Leonberg of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, by one niece, two nephews, and by an aunt.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 from 2:00 to 4 :00 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. with Father Harry R. Beilewicz of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Evans City Cemetery.
