Esther L. (Cain) Gillis, age 89 of Vets Club Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, January 26, 2007 at 2:55 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born November 15, 1917 in Adams Township, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert Cain and Gertrude Elizabeth Barclay.
Mrs. Gillis was a homemaker. She was a member of Meridian Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Elizabeth Circle of Meridian U. P. Church. She was a former member of Butler Extension Group, the Butler Boat Club and the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flottila #73. Mrs. Gillis enjoyed bird and squirrel watching and following the Pittsburgh Pirates on TV and radio. She was an alumni of Penn Township High School, Class of 1936.
Mrs. Gillis is survived by her husband Frank R. Gillis, Sr., whom she marriage on July 31, 1944, by two Frank R. Gillis, Jr. of Renfrew, and Ronald G. Gillis of Connoquenessing, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six step-great grandchildren, one brother John Ehrhart of Evans City, two sisters, Dorothy Edinger and Jane Smith both of Mars, and also by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gillis was preceded in death by two daughters and four sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from Thompson-Miller Funeral Home with Reverend Stephen N. Cahoon of Meridian United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery.

Rose M. McGrady
May 12, 1920 - January 23, 2007
Rose M. McGrady, age 86 of West Brady Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 8:45 p.m. in the U.P.M.C. Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born May 12, 1920 in Evans City, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Vito Morabito and the late Catherine Sarno Morabito.
Mrs. McGrady was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother along with being a homemaker. She retired from Butler High School Food Service working in the cafeteria. Prior to her marriage she worked at the Franklin Glass and the Spade Shirt Factory. She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church. She was a member of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary and Ann Silvers Club in Bradenton Beach, Florida. Mrs. McGrady enjoyed cooking, travel and using her computer. She and her husband were winter residents of Bradenton Beach, Florida for over 20 years prior to a series of illnesses. Rose was a two-time cancer survivor.
Mrs. McGrady is survived by her husband, Carl J. McGrady whom she marriage on October 16, 1944, by one son, Carl J. McGrady, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Rosemarie and Joseph Shirk of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Ronya McGrady of New York, New York; grandson, Marc McGrady of Gainesville, Florida; sister, Mrs. Frank (Judy) Colosimo of West Sunbury, Pennsylvania; two brothers and their wives, Vito and Billie Morabito of Butler, Pennsylvania, Joseph and Norma Morabito of Baltimore, Maryland; sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Catherine Ceplecha of Westchester, Illinois; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McGrady was preceded in death by one brother, Lou and one sister, Mary Lou.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, January 26, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Harry R. Beilewicz of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Coylesville, Pennsylvania.
Members of St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Viola May Adams

Viola May Adams, age 83 of Houtz Personal Care, Fenelton, Pennsylvania, formerly of West Fulton Street, Butler, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 5:45 p.m. at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 11, 1923 in Summit Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Harry Edward Greenwood and the late Marie Margaret Fennell.
Mrs. Adams was a domestic worker and personal care giver for various families. She attends the Church of God of Prophecy in Butler and is a member of A.A.R.P.
Mrs. Adams is survived by one sister, Mrs. Paul (Olive Elizabeth) Miller of Karns City, Pennsylvania; one niece, one nephew, two great-nieces, and one great-great-niece.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by one son, Dr. James Robert Adams, by two brothers Kenneth Edward and Paul Edward Greenwood and one sister Marie Greenwood.
Private Services were held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home. Interment was made at the Worthington Lutheran Cemetery.

Barbara J. Denniston, age 50 of Connoquennessing Main Street, Evans City, Pennsylvania, died Monday, January 15, 2007 at 1:15 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home after an extended illness.
Born August 15, 1956 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Chesley Blanchard and the late Ursula Breen Blanchard.
Barbara was a receptionist for Bill's Grooming Service for many years. She was a graduate of Butler Area High school, class of 1974. Barbara was a life long resident of Butler, she enjoyed reading, camping, the outdoors, visiting with friend and more than anything loved and enjoyed her only daughter Christie.
Mrs. Denniston is survived by her only daughter, Christie M. (Denniston) Welling and her husband Butch; one sister and her husband, Patricia and Richard Dicks of Erie, Pennsylvania; two brothers and their wives, John and Sherry Blanchard of Fombell, Pennsylvania, Paul and Crystal Blanchard of Erie, Pennsylvania; one sister-in-law, Patricia Blanchard of Bruin, Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews and two very special friends, Tim Gordon and Mark Kirk whom she relied on for help, advice and friendship.
Mrs. Denniston was preceded in death by two older brothers, Lawerance and Jeffery Blanchard.
Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Harry R. Beilewicz from St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be private.
Joseph R. Heichel

Joseph R. Heichel, age 83 of Augdon Drive, Elyria, Ohio, died Saturday, January 12, 2007 in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, Ohio after a long illness.
Born May 1, 1923 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Joseph Heichel and the late Wyona Douthett.
Mr. Heichel was a truck driver and a veteran of WW II.
Mr. Heichel is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha Andre Heichel, by two brothers, Donald Heichel of Butler, Pennsylvania, Richard Heichel of Newport, North Carolina; four sisters, Thelma Marra, Dorothy Mercatell, Donna Palmer all of Butler, Pennsylvania, Helen Leill of Kansas City, Missouri; and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Kenneth Palmer, Mr. Heichel's nephew of Christ Outreach Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Judith Elizebeth Cumblidge, age 59 of Mitchell Hill Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 6:30 a.m. at her residence following a long illness.
Born December 11, 1947 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Charles J. Miller, Sr. and the late Phyllis M. Logan Miller.
Mrs. Cumblidge was a homemaker and a member of Butler Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Mrs. Cumblidge is survived by her husband, Paul D. Cumblidge whom she marriage on April 12, 1979, by four daughters, Michelle A. (Lucas) Baptiste, Jill Cumblidge, Billie Jo (Lucas) Bowers, Bonnie (Lucas) Oliver; three sons, Steven Cumblidge, Michael Cumblidge, William Austin Charles Lucas; twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five sisters: Annetta J. Lumley, Margaret Hall, Loretta Ealy, Phyllis Ealy and Bonnie Miller, and by two brothers: Charles Miller, Jr. and William Miller.
