Richard P. Dobson, age 65 of Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony, Pennsylvania, formerly of Chicora, Pennsylvania died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 6:15 p.m. in the Evergreen Nursing Center.
Born January 31, 1943 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Harold W. Dobson and the late Vivienne I. Wampler.
Mr. Dobson was a storeroom clerk for Buffalo Pittsburgh Railroad. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Dobson is survived by son, Donald J. Dobson, two daughters, Jodi L. L. Waldor, Judy A. and Mike McCollough all of Butler, Pennsylvania; Ten Grandchildren: Jenna Weitzel, Francine So, Brandon Dobson, Corbin McCollough, Kyiva McCollough, Lev McCollough, Cameron Dobson, Kaleb Waldor, Hanna Dobson, and Lyra McCollough; two brothers, James W. Dobson and Michael D. Dobson both of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Sandy L. Weitzel of Zelienople, Pennsylvania, and Sally J. Nickel of Florida.
Mr. Dobson was preceded in death by his mother and father and his sister Shirley L. Snyder.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m.

M. Jane Brown
January 31, 1920 - April 5, 2008
Mrs. M. Jane Brown age 88 of Forest Mere Circle Butler, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 10:00 p.m. surrounded by her family and wonderful caregivers in her home.
Born January 31, 1920 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Ivor V. Davis and Mary Jane Seamans Davis.
Mrs. Brown was a graduate of New Castle High School and attended Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Brown was a lifelong member of Calvary Evangelical Presbyterian Church and currently was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America. When at Calvary she was the church librarian and donated her time for the church food cupboard. She was an avid volunteer and was a member of The Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She worked in the Coda Shop for the Butler Symphony. Mrs. Brown was a founding member and a former member of the board of directors of the Calvary Daycare. Mrs. Brown was a member of Oak Hills Garden Club and the Butler Country Club She was an avid reader and lead weekly bible study groups. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers.
She is the beloved wife of sixty-seven years of J. Robert Brown they were marriage on September 21, 1940.
Mrs. Brown is the loving mother of two daughters, Rebecca Jane Camlin of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania and Judy Barkley and her husband Jack of Butler, Pennsylvania, grandmother of Heidi Vandrak and her husband Bob of Harmony, Pennsylvania, Heather Sullivan and her husband Mike of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jennifer Ivory and her husband John and Jay Barkley and his wife Jennifer both of Gibsonia Pennsylvania, great grandmother of Julia, Jane, Bobby, Stephen, Andrew, Emily, Ella, Katie, and Erin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends will be received at The Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be from The Westminster Presbyterian Church in America on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend H. Curtis McDaniel of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum of Butler County Memorial Park.

Edward Timblin, Jr.
April 3, 1925 - April 5, 2008
Edward Timblin, Jr., age 83 of South Cliff Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at in the at his residence.
Born April 3, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Edward Timblin, Sr. and the late Myrtle Thompson.
Mr. Timblin was a painter for Pullman Standard, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Community Alliance Church. Mr. Timblin enjoyed flea markets and traveling.
Mr. Timblin is survived by his companion of 35 years, Annie Firster, by two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Ed Lawson of Butler, Pennsylvania, Phylis and Bill Spiece of Fenelton, Pennsylvania; one son and his wife, Paul and Linda Timblin of Butler, Pennsylvania; three step-daughters, Judy and Don Miller, Deborah Bowser, Kim and Steve Green; one step-son, Chuck and Brenda Firster, all of Butler; by six grandchildren, Jennifer Spiece, Cathleen Piche, Holly Spiece, Candice Cady, Michael Lawson, Matthew Edgington, all of Butler; twenty step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, twenty-eight step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Timblin of Butler, Pennsylvania; one sister, Pearl VanScooten of Pasadena, Florida and also by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Timblin was preceded in death by son, Jerry Timblin, step-daughter, Lori McClimans, two sisters, Edna McCandless and Betty Thomas and one brother Vic Timblin.

Michael D. Moore
November 18, 1967 - April 3, 2008
Michael D. Moore, age 40 of Walker Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 while vacationing with his wife in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Born November 18, 1967 in Grove City, Pennsylvania he was the son of DeWayne Moore and Janet Heeter Leslie.
Mr. Moore was the Director of Compliance for Nextier Bank. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Hannahstown. Mr. Moore recently received certification as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager. He loved to golf and work and play on the computer. Mr. Moore was a graduate of Knoch High School and also attended Westminster and Grove City College.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Holly Burtner Moore whom he marriage on August 14, 1999, by his mother and step-father, Kenneth and Janet Leslie, by his father and step-mother, DeWayne and Patricia Moore, by two sisters, Laura Gizienski and her husband Jim of Valencia, Pennsylvania, Linda Steele and her husband Frank of Butler, Pennsylvania, one half-brother, Duane Moore and his wife Bettina of Georgia; one half-sister, Ashley Moore, of North Carolina; his grandmother, Myrtle Anderson of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania; two step-sisters, Lee Kennedy of Butler, Pennsylvania, Lori Rudolph of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, one step-brother, Kerry Leslie of Butler, Pennsylvania; by three nieces and four nephews; and by his loving dog, Marcel.

William J. Beatty, Jr.
August 18, 1908 - April 1, 2008
William J. Beatty, Jr., Charter and Eldest member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Butler Memorial Hospital. He was 99 years old.
Bill was born August 18, 1908, in Oakland Township. A Butler County resident all of his life, he graduated with a high school degree from Butler Senior High School. Bill enjoyed working as a farmer and serving as a member of Agway and the Farm Bureau Board of Directors, as well as serving as an Oakland Township Supervisor and Secretary for 35 years.
A very dedicated family man, Bill also helped to raise his three grandchildren: John, Joyce and Jody, with the help of his wife Elizabeth Beatty, whom passed away in May 2002, also at the age of 99. His devotion extended to his four other grandchildren and five great grandchildren as well.
"He was one of the most honest men I have ever met in my life, " John Beatty, Jr. said.
As a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, Bill showed a passion for his church and his beliefs, always welcoming visitors into his home.
Surviving are Bill's two sons: John E. Beatty, Sr. of New Albany, Indiana and Lee V. Beatty of Pfafftown, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2008 at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 with Pastor Michael L. Harvey officiating.
Burial will be in the North Butler Cemetery of Oakland Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Missions Fund of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, 420 North Main Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
J. Robert Brown
November 13, 1917 - April 13, 2008
J. Robert Brown, age 90 of Forest Mere Circle, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 8:55 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born November 13, 1917 in Morgantown, West Virginia he was the son of the late Matthew A. Brown and the late Elizabeth M. Williams Brown.
Mr. Brown was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, serving as a Ruling Elder, Trustee and a Sunday School Teacher. He served on the steering committee of the Butler Valley Young Life and a member of the Butler Christian School Committee. Mr. Brown was a leader of the Lafayette Building Bible Study, a member of the Crossfire Steering committee and a member of the Calvary Church Christian Daycare Board. He graduated from Westminster College, Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon) with a degree in Management Engineering. Mr. Brown started his career with United States Steel Company in Youngstown as the Assistant Chief Planning Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer of Construction Borough, then with Spang and Company in Butler starting as the Chief Engineer and advanced to Vice-President in 1958, to Executive Vice-President in 1963 and served as President of Spang and Company and Spang Industries, Inc. from 1968 until his retirement in June of 1976. Mr. Brown was director of the Butler YMCA, trustee and past president, assistant chairman and secretary of Butler County Memorial Hospital and head of the Building Committee, he was director of the Butler County Easter Seal Society, the Butler County United Way and the Butler County Symphony Association. Mr. Brown was a member of the Butler Chamber of Commerce, BPOE and the Butler Country Club. Mr. Brown was the past director of Tri-State Industrial Association, a member of the Newcomen Society of North America, a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio, member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was on the advisory board of Union National Bank, chairman of the advisory committee of the Court House, member and treasurer of the Butler Gathering Core Committee. Mr. Brown is listed in the "Who's Who in America" and an honorary member of Theta Tau and Kappa Phi Lambda (later Sigma Nu). Mr. Brown enjoyed golf, gardening, and music (piano and organ). He also enjoyed composing and poetry. Although he excelled in both civic and business endeavors, he always felt his greatest blessing was his loving marriage of 67 years to his beloved Jane and his unconditional love of his two daughters, Rebecca Jane and Judy and his son-in-law Jack Barkley.
Mr. Brown is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Jane Camlin of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Judy and Jack Barkley of Butler, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters and their husbands, Heidi and Bob Vandrak of Harmony, Pennsylvania, Heather and Mike Sullivan of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jennifer and John Ivory of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; one grandson and his wife, Jay and Jennifer Barkley of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; nine great-grandchildren; Julia, Jane, Bobby, Stephen, Andrew, Emily, Ella, Katie and Erin, and by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, M. Jane Brown who recently passed away on April 5, 2008. They were marriage on September 21, 1940.
