Eugene "Gene" Behrens

November 2, 1931 - May 28, 2008

Eugene "Gene" Behrens, age 76 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at his residence.

Born November 2, 1931 in Palmyra, New York he was the son of the late Pearl Lake.

Mr. Behrens was a sales manager for Keystone Electric, still working after 51 years. He was a member of Nixon United Methodist Church. Mr. Behrens was a member and current president and past fire chief in the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was instrumental in the creation of the Butler County HAZMAT team. He was member of the American Legion Post #117. Mr. Behrens was an assistant coach for the Center Township Athletic Association from 1985-1996 and a member of the Butler Area Baseball Association and prep league coach from 1996 - 2000. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Behrens is survived by two sons and their wives, Steven and Sue Behrens of Granby, Connecticut, Scott and Theresa Behrens of Chicora, Pennsylvania; by two daughters, Mrs. Teresa and her husband Fred Bauder of Harrisville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Susan and her husband George Spiridonakos of Sewickley, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren, Christopher, Brian, Kevin, Matthew, Joseph and Joshua Behrens, Michelle Foran and Nichole and her husband Jason Geibel, Ryan and Nicholas Bauder, Michael and Sophia Spiridonakos; four great grandchildren, Marcus Lantz, Kailyn Behrens, Chloe Geibel and Madalyn Geibel, three brothers, Robert and Connie Lake, Edward and Lorraine Lake, James Lake all of New York and by a number of nieces and nephews and his companion, Donna Eozzo.

Mr. Behrens was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Marie "Laurie" Walker Behrens whom he marriage on November 28, 1953 and who passed away on July 2, 2005 and also by one sister, Shirley Gelardos.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. and also Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bruce Merrit of Nixon United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department, 311 Airport Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16002.

Scott A. Rumbaugh

June 6, 1963 - May 27, 2008

Scott A. Rumbaugh, age 44 of Partell Street, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 5:50 a.m. in the Suburban General Life Care Hospital.

Born June 6, 1963 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of Mal Rumbaugh and Nancy Linaberger Rumbaugh.

Mr. Rumbaugh was an Assistant Manager for various Sheetz, most recently at Moraine. He was the former owner of Casey's Pet Store on Main Street in Butler during the early 80's. Mr. Rumbaugh was also the manager of the 7-11 in Warrendale. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. Mr. Rumbaugh was a member of the General Butler Vagabonds for many years and the Lorraine Chapter International Order of DeMolay. He was a graduate of Butler High School, class of 1981.

Mr. Rumbaugh is survived by his wife, Monica Majhan Rumbaugh whom he marriage on October 30, 1992, by one son, Preston A. Rumbaugh at home; his parents, Mal and Nancy Rumbaugh; brother, Clifford T. Rumbaugh; grandmother, Genevieve Rumbaugh; five nieces and nephews, three great-nephews, four aunts and uncles and his black lab, Minnie.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Steve Fisher of New Testament Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made to the Mel Protzman Heart Transplant Fund, c/o St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 201 West Jefferson Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

June B. Hutchinson

November 23, 1916 - May 23, 2008

June B. Hutchinson, age 91 of St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars, Pennsylvania, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at 3:30 a.m. in the St. John's Specialty Care Center.

Born November 23, 1916 in St. Petersburg, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Elmer Ellsworth Brown and the late Pearl N. Fillman.

June worked as a reservation clerk at the Nixon Hotel and the Holiday Inn in Butler, Pennsylvania and also as a clerk for Fashion Bug. She was Protestant by faith.

June is survived by her daughter, Corrine Rettig of Butler, Pennsylvania; her son, Simeon Hutchinson of Mary Esther, Florida; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Brown of Butler, Pennsylvania, and by a number of nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from noon to 1:00 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend J. David Panther of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

David P. "Butch" Morrow

April 3, 1951 - May 24, 2008

David P. "Butch" Morrow, age 57 of 563 Chicora-Fenelton Road, Fenelton, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 5:15 a.m. at his residence, surrounded by his family and friends.

Born April 3, 1951 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late David E. Morrow and the late Vivian P. Myers Morrow.

Mr. Morrow worked in the melt shop at AK Steel until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Morrow was a member of the Happy Hunters Club in Fenelton and he also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Morrow is survived by his two sons, Wayne and Scott; by one daughter and her husband, Michelle (Shelly) and Joe; two grandchildren, David and Deven; one sister, Sandra Bachman; one niece, Renae Greiner; and one nephew, Scott Irvine.

Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend James A. Higgins of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made to the Hospice Program of the Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.

Steve Coretsky

July 26, 1962 - May 23, 2008

Steve Coretsky, Jr., age 45 of West Fifth Street, Chillicothe, Ohio, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at his home.

Born July 26, 1962 in Grove City, Pennsylvania he was the son of Steve Coretsky and the late Mary Alice Hartle Coretsky.

Mr. Coretsky is survived by his two daughters, Rachel Coretsky of Butler, Pennsylvania, Cherish Coretsky of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; two sons, Austin Coretsky of New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Steve Coretsky of Ohio; by his father, Steve Coretsky of Butler, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Debra Gibson, Linda Tincha, and Amy Mudrick all of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by six nieces and nephews.

Mr. Coretsky was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Hartle Coretsky .

Private visitation was held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Thursday, May 29, 2008.

A Blessing Service was held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. with the Very Reverend Harry R. Bielewicz of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church officiating.

Helen Ivey

December 18, 1922 - May 23, 2008

Helen Ivey, age 85 of Sunnyview Home, formerly of Sawmill Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, May 23, 2008 at 4:45 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.

Born in Odenville, Alabama on December 18, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Carl Ash and Edith Jones Ash.

Mrs. Ivey was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and being with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Melba Engel of Butler, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren Rene Engel of Butler, Pennsylvania and Kimberly Alexander of Portland, Oregon, two great-grandchildren, One brother, Robert Ash, three sisters, Lois Holbert, Betty Champion and Judy Rawlings all of Alabama and by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, one daughter and one brother.
