Helen V. Stevenson, age 85, a resident of Ocala, Florida for the past twenty-one years, formerly of Butler passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2008 in Ocala, Florida.
Mrs. Stevenson was a homemaker and a member of Fort King Presbyterian Church, Ocala, Florida.
She is survived by her husband Charles B. Stevenson, one son, John G. Stevenson of Sugarland, Texas, two daughters, Linda Tyler of Westcliffe, Colorado and Barbara Cristy of Grass Lake, Michigan, one brother, Fred S. Vaughn of Omaha, Nebraska, by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Memorial services for Helen V. Stevenson will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001, with Pastor Jeff Harris of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Northside Cemetery.
Mabel A. Gray Steele

Mabel A. Gray Steele, age 81 of West Old Route 422, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, May 16, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born August 21, 1926 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Audley Gray and the late Eva Montgomery.
Mr. Steele was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church and she was active in her church and with the Slippery Rock Baptist Youth Camp.
Mr. Steele is survived by her two sons, Richard K. Steele of Butler, Pennsylvania, Reverend Karl G. Steele of Orviston, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Margaret E. Steele of Butler, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Mark E. (Mary) Kuhn of Columbus, Ohio; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two Brothers, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Steele was preceded in death by her husband, Richard K. Steele who passed away on February 4, 1991, by her parents and also by a sister.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with her son, Reverend Karl G. Steele and Pastor David Maitland of First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, R.D. # 3, Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania 16057.
Ellen M. Covert
June 11, 1920 - May 15, 2008
Ellen M. Covert, age 87 of Sunnyview Home, Butler, Pennsylvania formerly of Whippo Avenue died on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10:35 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born June 11, 1920 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Albert McCurdy and the late Fannie McCurdy.
Mrs. Covert was a dietician for Butler County Head Start in Bon Aire and also Sunnyview Home and the Butler Country Club. During the war she was employed at Pullman Standard.
Mrs. Covert is survived by two daughters, Mrs. (Ronald) Barbara Fundark of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Carolyn Neyman also of Butler, Pennsylvania; by nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, by two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Covert was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel A. Covert, Sr. on February 13, 1978, by three sons, Daniel A. Covert, Jr., Richard Allen Covert, Roger Dale Covert and by several brothers and sisters.
There will be no public visitation. Graveside committal service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Jefferson Cemetery, Clover Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania with the Reverend William Gumpper of First United Methodist Church officiating. Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania is handling the arrangements.
James W. Bashline
July 19, 1917 - May 14, 2008
James W. Bashline, age 90 of Westview Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 4:45 p.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born July 19, 1917 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late James Cecil Bashline and the late Eleanore McElroy Bashline.
Mr. Bashline was a sign painter, who owned and operated Jimmy Bashline Signs for 60 years. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church and attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving with the Quartermaster's Corp. at Fort Lee, Virginia, during WW II. Jimmy was a well-known local cartoon artist who also painted, sketched, carved and sculpted over his lifetime. His work was published in various national publications during WW II. Jimmy created the Jay Bee Circus which he carved for over 50 years. He was a member of and former vice-president of the Associated Artist of Butler County, a member of the National Wood Carvers Association, the Butler County Historical Society, the Pittsburgh Society of Sculptors, the Terrell Jacobs Ring Circus Model Builders and the American Legion Post #117.
Mr. Bashline is survived by his daughter, Aryl Bashline of Butler, Pennsylvania; his brother, Charles Bashline of Butler, and by one niece.
Mr. Bashline was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Heloise LaBorde Bashline whom he marriage on November 27, 1943, and who passed away on July 7, 2005 and also by one sister, Catherine "Sis" Hilliard.
A memorial service will be held at First English Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James W. Dollhopf of First English Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in North Side Cemetery.

James A. Barto
April 5, 1946 - May 10, 2008
James A. Barto, age 62, of Marienville, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 3:20 p.m. at Kahle Lake, Clarion County while launching his boat.
Born April 5, 1946 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late H. Leroy Barto and the late Gertrude Salisbury Barto.
Mr. Barto was a welder for Pullman Standard until the plants closing. He was a member of Butler Bass Buddies, West Sunbury American Legion, Marienville Rod and Gun Club, Western Pennsylvania Anglers, and the Pennsylvania Bass Federation. Mr. Barto devoted most of his life to hunting and fishing, he was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Barto is survived by one daughter, Jamie Gander of Jackson Center, Pennsylvania; one grandson, Coty Gander of Jackson Center, Pennsylvania; his longtime companion, Brenda Magee; one sister, Mrs., William (Mary Alice) Gladis of Jonesboro, Georgia; three nephews and by several cousins.
Mr. Barto was preceded in death by one brother.

Helen M. Divers, age 94 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 4:03 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born October 11, 1913 in Cabot, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Albert G. Reamer and the late Bertha Gibson Reamer.
Mrs. Divers was a homemaker and had worked at Stanley's Donut and Pastry Shop in Butler. She was a member of North Street Christian Church and a member of the Rebecca I.O.O.F. Lodge.
Mrs. Divers is survived by two sons and their wives, Carl D. and Irene Divers and James and Shelley Divers both of Butler, Pennsylvania; by three daughters, Beulah Folino of Butler, Pennsylvania, Evelyn and her husband Kenneth Critchlow of Renfrew, Pennsylvania, Connie and her husband George Bader of Rochester, Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one brother, John Reamer of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Divers was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Divers who passed away on September 20, 1971, and also by one great-grandchild, three brothers, and two sisters.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, May 12, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bob Huber and Reverend Jeff Miller of North Street Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
