Albert "Al" Karl Hansen, age 75 of Moore Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 8:05 p.m. at his residence.
Born January 24, 1933 in Woonsocket, South Dakota he was the son of the late Albert August Hansen and the late Erna Hansen.
Mr. Hansen was a brakeman in sheet metal department for Pearson Mfg., formerly of Etna. Mr. Hansen enjoyed arts, woodworking, gardening, metal work, contracting, yard work - he did it all. And he loved his wife.
Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Hansen whom he marriage in 1959, by son, Albert James Hansen and his wife Shannon; daughter, Marlys June Hansen Frederick and her husband Tim; four grandchildren, Ashley May Frederick, Kayla Marie Frederick, Veronique Lacie Frederick, Nicholas Ivan Frederick; brother, Edward John Hansen; five sisters, Arlene Labriola, Mildred Hanningan, Marilyn Foringer, Karen Bursick, Lorraine Beatty; and by one niece.
Mr. Hansen was preceded in death by one son, Karl Robert Hansen who passed away on April 25, 2006, by one brother Gert Hansen and one sister Marlys Hansen.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 14, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Steven Hansen, nephew and godson of Mr. Hansen officiating. He is the pastor at Natrona Heights Church of the Brethren.
William C. Jack
May 14, 1914 - June 11, 2008
William C. Jack, age 94 of Oakland Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at his residence.
Born May 14, 1914 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Lewis Earl Jack and the late Goldie Undine Stepp.
Mr. Jack worked in the metallurgical department for Butler Armco until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WW II, a retired Commander from the Naval Reserve and a member of the American Legion Post #117. He was a member of #694 Victory Lodge F & AM, member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle, a member of Caravan #14 of Butler and a member of the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Jack is survived by his two daughters, Nancy E. Witt and Patricia E. Jack both of Stoneboro, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Laura E. Jack who passed away on June 6, 1999 and also by one son, William H. Jack, one sister, and one brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Friday, June 13, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. David Panther of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Esther Virginia Clark
September 3, 1929 - June 8, 2008
Esther Virginia Clark, age 78 of Grant Avenue Ext, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday morning, June 8, 2008 at U.P.M.C. Shadyside.
Born September 3, 1929 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Charles Harvey Christy and the late Esther Edith Walter Christy.
Mrs. Clark was a co -owner and bookkeeper for Clark Trucking in Butler, Pennsylvania. She was a member of East Butler Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. She also served as the church pianist and organist. Mrs. Clark and her husband wintered in Florida for thirty years and also enjoyed RVing.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband, John D. Clark, Sr. whom she marriage on July 17, 1946, and by one daughter, Sheila Hartle and her husband Dave of Butler, Pennsylvania; four sons, John D. Clark Jr. and his wife Diana of Polk, Pennsylvania, Bruce Clark and his wife Cathy of Butler, Pennsylvania, George Clark and his wife Carol of Butler, Pennsylvania, Douglas Clark and his wife Toni of Butler, Pennsylvania; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Richard L. Christy of Butler, Pennsylvania, and Earl M. Christy of Butler, Pennsylvania and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Harvey Christy and Ralph L. Christy.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Mary Sickels-Kitchen of East Butler Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Butler Cemetery of Oakland Township.

Leslie J. "Les" Hamder
October 12, 1937 - June 7, 2008
Leslie Joseph "Les" Hamder, age 70 of Kaufman Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 4:20 a.m. following and illness.
Born October 12, 1937 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late John J. Hamder and the late Catherine Izzo Hamder.
Mr. Hamder was a retired skilled laborer for Standard Bent Glass. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Hamder was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during the Lebanon crisis. He was a member of the SOI of Butler, had formerly worked at American Hardware in the receiving and the logistics department for 15 years. Recently he had worked at the Butler VA Medical Center in the housekeeping department. Mr. Hamder attended Butler High School.
Mr. Hamder is survived by his sister, Mrs. Carol Ann Mashuda of Butler, Pennsylvania; his brother, Richard Hamder of Butler, Pennsylvania; one son, one daughter, three grandchildren, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hamder was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers.
Family visitation will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Charles W. Thompson
June 2, 1932 - June 3, 2008
Charles W. Thompson, age 76 of Morningside Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 12:50 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, Pennsylvania.
Born June 2, 1932 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Merle A. Thompson and the late Wilda Dunbar Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was a retired sales engineer of underground mining equiptment for Uniroyal, Ltd. He was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church. Mr. Thompson was a member of the #694 Victory Lodge F & AM, the Syria Temple of Pittsburgh (Shriners), Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of New Castle, The American Legion, Post #117, and B.P.O.E #170. He enjoyed golf, antiques and restoring furniture. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving in the Korean War.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Nancy Huth Thompson whom he marriage on May 2, 1970, by two sons and their wives, Robert C. and Kelli Thompson of Butler, Todd A. and Linda Thompson of Bloomington, Indiana; six grandchildren, Erin Thompson, of Florida, Spencer Thompson of Butler, Quinton C. Thompson, of Indiana, Adrian J. Thompson, of Indiana, Ian R. Thompson of Butler, Alexandra D. Thompson of Butler; brother-in-law and his wife, Joseph and Joann Huth, II of Butler; two sister-in-laws, Mary Alice Thompson, of Ohio, Margaret (Huth) and her husband Doug Meeker, of Ohio; and by seven nieces and nephews.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by one brother, David A. Thompson.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend John Porter and Reverend Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Glen H. Cobbett, age 37 of Greenwood Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 due to an automobile accident on Route 68 near Buhl Road in Forward Township.
Born May 18, 1971 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was son of the Sharon Heist Cobbett Miller and the late Gary L. Cobbett.
Glen was a sexton for First English Lutheran Church. He was also a member of First English Lutheran Church. Glen was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved farming and ran his own farm. He also helped weekly on the Fred Heinz Farm.
Glen is survived by his wife, Tina L. Ernst Cobbett whom he marriage on June 17, 2000, by two step-daughters, Sara Ernst, Brandi Wroblewski both of Butler, his mother and step-father, Sharon and Marshall Miller of Butler, two sisters and their husbands, Robin and James McVay of New Castle, Noelle and Tuck Sequite of Butler; his step-sister, Christine Miller of Denver, Colorado; his step-brother, Aaron Miller of London, England, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sam and Bonnie Zurzolo of Butler, three brother-in-laws, Robert Ernst of Butler, Sam Jr. and his wife Kellie Zurzolo of Butler, and Brian and his wife Dawn Zurzolo of Butler.
Glen was preceded in death by his father Gary Cobbett.
