Gerald Edward "Jerry" Wagner, age 80 of Meadow Brook Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, June 2, 2008 in the Butler V A Medical Center.
Born June 18, 1927 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Louis G. Wagner and the late Gladys Schaffer Wagner.
Mr. Wagner was a graduate of Butler High school and attended the University of Pittsburgh from 1968-1970 to become a graphic arts instructor at the Butler Senior High School. Mr. Wagner was a WW II veteran serving with occupational forces in Japan. He was a member of Community Alliance Church. Mr. Wagner worked at Pullman Standard as a machinist. He owned the Be Jay Printing Company during the 1960's and later owned the Wagner Copy Quick/Wagner Printing Company. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, motorcycling, antique cars and metal detecting.
Mr. Wagner is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Wagner whom he marriage on May 30, 1947, by two sons, Terry Wagner, Chris Wagner; three daughters, Linda Wagner, Trudy Keller, Kim Sechrist; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister, Betty Stuckie; cousin, Floyd Wagner and five nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by his daughter, Kay Elaine Wagner and one brother, Louis Wagner, Jr.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dennis Krajacic of Community Alliance Church officiating.

George R. Martin
September 21, 1919 - June 1, 2008
George R. Martin, age 88 of Parkcrest Lane, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at 11:09 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born September 21, 1919 in Batavia, New York he was the son of the late George F. Martin and the late Alice Martin.
Mr. Martin was a sales representative for Heywood-Wakefield Co. of Gardner, Massachusetts and other furniture manufacturers for 40 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Butler. Mr. Martin was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving during WW II. He was a member of the Butler Elks Lodge #170, the F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge of Gardner, Massachusetts and the American Legion Post # 117. Mr. Martin liked to golf, fishing and boating. He was also active with Habitat for Humanity for many years.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, V. Eloise Watson Martin whom he marriage on October 14, 1944, and by one daughter, Deborah L. Smith of Wexford, Pennsylvania; one son, Paul L. Martin of Biddeford, Maine; and by four grandchildren.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his sister Alice Davis of Tucson, Arizona and his brother, Donald Martin of Manhattan Beach, California.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. David Panther of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Janice Cahan Horwitz
June 1, 1924 - June 16, 2008
Janice Cahan Horwitz, age 84 of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, June 16, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at her residence.
Born June 1, 1924 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Hyman Cahan and the late Ida Bigg Cahan.
Mrs. Horwitz was a homemaker. She was a member and past board member of Congregation B'nai Abraham. Mrs. Horwitz was a life member of the Hadassah and past-president of B'nai Abraham Sisterhood. She was an avid bridge player, life master and a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club.
Mrs. Horwitz is survived by her sister, Mrs. Edith Rosskam of Northbrook, Illinois; two nephews, William B. Rosskam, III, of Illinois, and Steven Rosskam, of Pennsylvania
Mrs. Horwitz was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Horwitz who passed away on March 26, 2005 and also by two sons, Michael Cohn and Daniel Cohn.
There will be no public visitation.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Congregation B'nai Abraham Cemetery with Rabbi Walter Boninger officiating.

Floretta M. Ellis

Floretta M. Ellis, age 91 of Sunnyview Home, Butler, Pennsylvania, formerly of South Cliff Street and Forestville, died Friday, June 20, 2008 at 4:15 a.m. in the Sunnyview Home.
Born March 7, 1917 in Plain Grove, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Clarence X. Pollock and the late Marjorie Rumbaugh.
Mrs. Ellis was a homemaker. She was a member of Forestville United Methodist Church and she also attended Westminster Presbyterian Church in America. Mrs. Ellis was a member of A.A.R.P. and she loved art, to draw and paint and to do needlework.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her son and his wife, Mr. David C. and Janet Ellis of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandsons and their wives, Dr. Brian D. and Lisa Ellis of Morgantown, West Virginia, Mr. Michael A. and Patti Ellis of Imperial, Pennsylvania; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy A. Ellis and Sydni L. Ellis both of Imperial, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin L. Ellis who passed away on October 9, 1994 and also by two brothers.

Services will be held at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David D. Ealy of Forestville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.

Robert Lee Garrett, Jr.

Robert Lee Garrett, Jr., age 56 of Keck Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 3:35 p.m. in the Autumn Grove Care Center.
Born July 18, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland he was the son of the late Robert Lee Garrett, Sr. and the late Doris Losiewski Garrett Forbis.
Mr. Garrett was a self-employed general contractor. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Garrett was a former member of the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Department, and was an avid Steeler fan.
Mr. Garrett is survived by his wife, Roberta H. Sexton Garrett, by one daughter, Lisa Fay Dickerson of Moberly, Missouri; one son, Jason Sexton of Butler, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; one sister, Debbie Pollard, one brother, Jerry Garrett, both of Missouri; by his step-father, Wayne Forbis of Moberly, Missouri. Mr. Garrett is also survived by Eric Collins of Florida, whom Bob thought of as a son, by is two dogs Greta and Gretchen, and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Garrett was proceeded in death by a brother, Roscoe Garrett and two sisters, Teresa Garrett Kent and Kathleen Forbis.

Robert W. Teitt
February 28, 1928 - June 23, 2008
Robert W. Teitt, age 80 of Beech Road, Butler, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at 4:10 a.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born February 28, 1928 in Trafford, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Charles Teitt and the late Margaret Watson Teitt.
Mr. Teitt was employed by the Butler Area School District at the Butler Senior High School as a Social Studies teacher. He also coached football at Butler High school. Mr. Teitt retired in 1987; he had been a teacher for various school districts for thirty-eight years. He was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Teitt is survived by his wife, Emma Zigarovich Teitt, whom he marriage on June 24, 1961, by one son, Robert W. Teitt, II of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one sister, Mrs. Naomi Witman and her husband Dwight of Trafford, Pennsylvania; and by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Teitt was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret McWilliams and one brother, Matthew Teitt.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from 10 a.m. and until time of the service.
