Ronald E. "Sonny" Hageter, age 73, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 10:32 a.m. at U.P.M.C. Passavant Hospital.
Born December 31, 1934 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Emma Salzer Hageter.
Mr. Hageter worked in the central maintenance department for Butler Armco. He was Protestant by faith, and enjoyed NASCAR racing.
Mr. Hageter is survived by three daughters, Claudia Fogleman of Indianapolis, Indiana, Freda Ekey and Sherry Dean both of Butler, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elva Wise of Arvada, Colorado and Mrs. Herk (Mae) Marinelli of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hageter was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Monday, July 28, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.

Elizabeth O. Starr
August 19, 1912 - July 27, 2008
Elizabeth O. Starr, age 95 of Austintown, Ohio, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 9:00 p.m. in the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Boardman, Ohio.
Born August 19, 1912 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Earl Ober and the late Carolyn McFarland.
Mrs. Starr was a secretary for Butler Police Station then worked as a teacher's aid at the West End Elementary School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Starr was a former member of the Audubon Society, the Butler Library Book Club, and the Sow Seeds Society. She was a hospital volunteer and Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Starr liked to watch birds, take nature walks and travel. She also liked to do gardening and was an avid reader.
Mrs. Starr is survived by her son, David O. Whipkey of Mineral Ridge, Ohio; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews.
Mrs. Starr was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde W. Whipkey, Sr. who passed away on May 28, 1961, by her second husband, William Starr who passed away on September 19, 1985, by one son, Clyde W. Whipkey, Jr. and one sister Winifred Williams.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor William Gumpper of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Cochran Cemetery, Dawson, Pennsylvania.
Roseanne L. Evans
December 21, 1941 - July 28, 2008
Roseanne L. Evans, age 66 of Highfield Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at in the Sunnyview Home.
Born December 21, 1941 in Ford City, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Szalankiewicz and the late Mary Elizabeth Radwansky Szalankiewicz.
Mrs. Evans was a certified nurses aid for Concordia Lutheran Ministries for seventeen years. She was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Evans loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, playing cards, doing puzzles, and caring for her ferrets. She also enjoyed music and watching NASCAR.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, John "Pete" Evans and whom she marriage on September 14, 1968, by her son, Vincent Evans of Butler, Pennsylvania; by three grandchildren, Landen Evans, Cade Evans, Audra Evans; by ten nieces, ten nephews, and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial wil be celebrated at the St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. with Father Pierre Falkenhan of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of Devotion, Butler County Memorial Park.
The womens council of St Peter's will meet at the Church at 11:05 A.M. to recite the rosary.

Nell Rose Aland Dugan
July 25, 1921 - July 30, 2008
Nell Rose Aland Dugan, age 87, of the Lowrie House, formerly of Boyd Drive, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 5:40 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, Pennsylvania.
Born July 25, 1921 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Mary Aland.
Mrs. Dugan was a homemaker and had work at Magnetics for 10 years. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and crafts.
Mrs. Dugan is survived by her daughter, Linda (Joseph) Randig of Butler, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Joseph Bender of Lyndora, Louis Bender of Butler; one sister, Elizabeth Wiegand of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dugan was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis M. Dugan who passed away on June 6, 1990 and also by one sister.

Peter "Petey" Charles Stewart
October 16, 1952 - August 9, 2008
Peter "Petey" Charles Stewart, age 55, of Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday evening, August 9, 2008 at his home.
Born October 16, 1952 in Butler, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Charles James and Helen Claire Green Stewart.
Pete began his employment with the Butler City Fire Department in 1976. Since then, he worked his way through the ranks to become a Captain in 2003. He also was a professional painter in the Butler area for 30 years.
He was a member of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church.
Pete was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Butler, the Summit Township Sportsman's Club and the International Association of Firefighters.
He was an avid bow hunter and fisherman. He liked traveling and playing cards. He loved and enjoyed being with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Pete is survived by his wife, Peggy L. Stewart, whom he marriage on June 17, 1972, by one son, Jeffrey C. Stewart and his wife, Kelly, of Butler, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Jennifer M. Senopole and her husband, James, of Butler, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Cassie and Mason Senopole, Brady and Carson Stewart; two brothers, Joseph Stewart and his wife, Becky, of Temple, Texas, Dennis Stewart and his wife, Belinda, of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Diane Faber and her husband, George, and Sandy Dimit and her husband, Scott, both of Butler, Pennsylvania; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Frances Lorene "Renie" Taylor
November 2, 1925 - August 8, 2008
Frances Lorene "Renie" Taylor, age 82, formerly of Crisswell Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 8, 2008 at 5:37 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born November 2, 1925 in Penn Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late B. Harry and Mabel E. Richard Dodds.
Mrs. Taylor was employed with the County of Butler for 25 years, after which, she worked for the Butler Area School District as a library secretary at Butler Senior High School, as well as in five elementary schools for over 15 years. Following her retirement from the Butler Area School District in August 1985, she traveled on various bus trips until 1988. Then, she became a certified nurses aide and worked for the Visiting Nurses Association in the complete care unit for a number of years. Afterward, she became self-employed, caring for several well-known elderly folks of Butler County. She was a volunteer driver and did other various types of volunteer work in her later years.
Mrs. Taylor authored five family histories and one history of her foster brother, Wilmer B. Hoffman. She was general chairman of four Penn Township high school class reunions, 1973, 1975, 1980 and 1985. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and the PA Retired Public School Employees Association. She was a member of St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Meridian Community Choir.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two of her stepsons, Arthur W. Taylor of Youngstown, Pennsylvania, and Larry Paul Taylor of Elmira, New York; a number of nieces and nephews, and by several cousins.
Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Taylor who was deceased March 19, 1983 and also by her brother, David B. Dodds and by her foster brother.
