M. Wayne Neal, age 80, of Three Degree Road, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 8, 2008 at 5:40 p.m. in the St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars, Pennsylvania.
Born May 3, 1928 in Coal Run, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Milton H. and Hilda Campbell Neal.
Mr. Neal was an elementary supervisor for Hampton Township School District in Allison Park, Pennsylvania. He retired in June of 1993.
He was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church, the church choir and he was an elder and a Sunday school teacher at his church. He was a member of Pennsylvania Association of Elementary and Secondary School Principals (PAESSP).
Mr. Neal enjoyed skiing, biking and traveling and he was an avid bridge player.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving fifteen months with the Sixteen Corp in Sendai, Japan.
Mr. Neal is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ruffner, whom he marriage on February 14, 1953, by one son, Jeffrey W. Neal and his wife, Tricia, of Lake Worth, Florida; one daughter, Kathryn (Kitty) Shields and her husband, Rustin, of Sandusky, Ohio; one grandson, Jon Ross Shields; and by eight nieces and nephews.
Mr. Neal was preceded in death by his twin son and daughter, two sisters and one brother.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Services will be held at the Hill United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Clark Sawyer of Hill United Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Brownsdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Hill United Presbyterian Church Choir, 501 Second Street, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
William L. McKee
January 16, 1941 - August 5, 2008
William L. McKee, age 67 of Rolla, Missouri, formerly of Butler, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at his home.
Born January 16, 1941 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late William S. McKee and the late Dorothy Lucille Crawford McKee.
McKee worked for the Phillips Production Co. as Vice President of Operations where he retired after 40 years of service. He was also the owner/operator of Renegade Charter Services, Inc. with his wife and sons on Lake Erie, Pennsylvania for 12 years. He served with the U.S. Army National Guard Unit out of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Mr. McKee was very involved in the communities where he lived. He was a life member of the Summit Township Hunting and Fishing Club, a member of the Victory Lodge #694, F. & A.M., A.A.S.R Valley of New Castle, Syria Temple, the Summit Presbyterian Church in Butler, Pennsylvania where he served as Elder on several occasions, First Christian Church in Rolla, Missouri, Ambassador's Class of First Christian Church, and the AARP. He also served as a volunteer for Boy Scout Troop 39 in Butler for 9 years and for Concordia Lutheran Home for 4 years.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his wife Barbara, at home; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Shawn and Deborah McKee, of Fortville, Indiana, and David and Deborah McKee, of Rolla, Missouri; four grandchildren, Luke and Brody McKee of Fortville, Indiana, and Emma and Anne McKee of Rolla, Missouri; one sister, Saundra McKee, of Manorville, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Renee Skinner of Peachtree City, Georgia; and by other extended family members and many dear friends.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
Friends and Family will also be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the Summit Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jonathan Evans of Summit Presbyterian Church and Reverend Tim Cook of the First Christian Church, Rolla, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in Summit U. P. Church Cemetery.

Ernest D. "Ernie" Parshall, Sr.

Ernest D. "Ernie" Parshall, Sr., age 63 of Rockdale Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 5:25 p.m. in the Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born May 11, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Kenneth Parshall and the late Olive Racioppo Parshall.
Mr. Parshall was a deliveryman for JK Hydraulics, Inc. in Butler. He loved motorcycles and he enjoyed building old cars and trucks. Mr. Parshall also enjoyed drawing. All of his free time was spent with family and friends.
Mr. Parshall is survived by his one son, Ernest D. Parshall, Jr. of Monaca, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Kimberly M. Parshall Rodgers and her husband Gerry Rodgers, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Gerry Rodgers, III, Kaitlyn Rodgers; one sister, Dolores M. Hodgdon of Atlanta, Georgia; four nieces, two nephews and eleven great-nieces and nephews.
Mr. Parshall was preceded in death by his brother, Ronneal Parshall.
A Memorial Services will be held at the Thorn Creek United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Kurt Knobel of Thorn Creek United Methodist Church officiating.
Danielle Renne' Wick
October 23, 2001 - August 2, 2008
Danielle Renne' Wick, age 6, of Rittswood Drive, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Saturday August 2, 2008 at her home.
Danielle was born in Austin, Texas on October 23, 2001. In January of 2003, at 15 months old, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She received treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee and was blessed to live several years of excellent health. Three years ago, the summer before her 4th birthday, she moved to Butler with her parents, A. Christopher and Bobbie R. (Brown) Wick to live close to her grandparents, Robert L. and Marsha R. (Criley) Brown of Chicora, Pennsylvania; and George L. and Susan B. (Birdseye) Wick of Ford City, Pennsylvania.
As a preschooler, Danielle was enrolled at Penn Christian Academy from 2005-2007. Upon the diagnoses of a secondary brain tumor on April 1, 2008, she had been attending much loved kindergarten at Center Twp. Elementary School.
Danielle was a very sweet, kind spirited, compassionate, and fun loving child. With her long golden curls, beautiful smile and fun personality, she had a special way of capturing the hearts of all those who surrounded her. She loved her first year of school and truly looked forward to each day in Mrs. Patty Konieczny's class. During the school year, she enjoyed ballet and tap dancing classes at the Butler Dance & Gym USA. She also participated in the swimming, gymnastics and cheerleading activities at the Butler YMCA. Memories of her song and dance performances she put on for special occasions at home will be cherished forever. During the summertime, Danielle especially enjoyed boating, swimming and camping. It was often a joke she was part mermaid. She had a special fondness for her cat "Orangie" who really helped get her through struggles during her illness.
She is survived by her best friend, playmate and brother, Ryan C. Wick (age 5); maternal and paternal grandparents listed above; her great grandmother, Nora M. Lees of Murrysville, Pennsylvania; her great grandmother, M. Sally Criley of Fenelton, Pennsylvania; and several aunts and uncles including Christopher and Kathryn Boltz of Phoenix, Arizona; Jennifer and Robert McCauley of State College, Pennsylvania; Elizabeth and Robert Slease of Roanoke, Virginia and Robbie Zabicki of Butler, Pennsylvania; and three cousins.
Friends and family of Danielle R. Wick will be received at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Funeral services will be from the North Main Street Church of God on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Lane Turturice officiating.
Interment will follow at the North Side Cemetery in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The family suggest memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 322 North Lauderdale Street, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-2794.
Robert M. Rensel
July 31, 1935 - August 15, 2008
Robert M. Rensel, age 73 of Evans City Road, Renfrew, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at his residence.
Born July 31, 1935 in Butler, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Max M. Rensel and the late Catherine L. White.
Mr. Rensel worked for the Butler Armco Melt shop retiring in 1993 after forty years of service. He was protestant by faith. Mr. Rensel was a member of the American Legion Post #117 Butler, Pennsylvania, the Veterans of foreign Wars Post # 7599, and Reynolds, National Guard 228th Transportation Division of The United States Army.
Mr. Rensel is survived by his wife, Grace R. Rensel, whom he marriage on December 10, 1956, by five daughters, Mrs. Terri Lynn Solkovy and her husband Robert Jr. of Butler, Brenda Sue Steighner and her husband Richard of Cochranton, Pennsylvania, Robin Kay Ashcraft and her husband Dennis of Chicora, Karen Joy Ashcraft and her husband Gary of Butler, Kathy Jo Rensel also of Butler; ten grandchildren, one great-grandson, and one brother.
Private visitation and services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. with Reverend Dr. Robert Peterson of St. John's Reformed Church officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Program of the Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, Pennsylvania 16001.
Jane E. Preston
November 20, 1911 - August 15, 2008
Jane E. Preston, age 96 of South Eberhart Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at 12:40 p.m. at her home.
Born November 20, 1911 in Toledo, Ohio she was the daughter of the late John Hupman and the late Ella Thompson Hupman.
Mrs. Preston was an office manager for Preston Laboratories and also a well-known area philanthropist. She graduated from La Salle Junior College and Northwestern University. She was a member of A.A.U.W. and the Butler Garden Club. Mrs. Preston was the founder of the Butler Natural Food Group and Freedom of Choice Group. She was a champion of organic foods, and their gardening and was a popular speaker on organic dieting. Mrs. Preston was a major supporter of various charities in Butler County.
Mrs. Preston is survived by her niece, Ann Kaczor of Troy, Michigan; and nephew, John Hupman of Sterling Heights, Michigan.
Mrs. Preston was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Frank W. Preston and also by one brother.
There will be no public visitation or funeral services and the arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania
