William Frank "Doc" Brandon, age 88 formerly of Meadowood in Butler Township died Friday, December 3, 2004 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born April 19, 1916 in Trafford, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Donald C. and Frances M. (Taubler) Brandon.
He was a chiropractor in Butler for 36 years after graduating from Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis, Ind., in 1950. He also retired in 1988 as an active stockholder and secretary of the board for radio stations in Indiana and Pennsylvania, including WBUT, WLER FM and WISR in Butler.
After graduating from Butler High School in 1935, he worked as a machinist at Spang & Co., for nearly 10 years. Before entering college, he and his wife, Jean Shanor Brandon, ran a grocery store on Wood Street and Sixth Avenue in Butler.
Dr. Brandon was a 40-year member of the Butler Kiwanis Club and was a past president of the Butler County Chiropractic Society. He wrote and hosted health talks on local radio stations in the early 1960s.
A sports enthusiast, he played baseball and basketball in high school, and bowled and golfed through his retirement. He bowled for years in the Elks League.
He was a Protestant.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathy Jean Rogerson and her husband, Peter, of Butler; two sons, Ronald W. Brandon and his wife, Joyce, and Robert C. Brandon and his wife, Charlotte, all from Butler; five grandchildren, Jenny Lynn Rogerson and Gregory Allen Rogerson, both of Butler, and Deanna Lynn Herrle, Carla Ann Brandon and Amie Joy Brandon, all of Pittsburgh; and three great-granddaughters, Emma, Ellie and Savannah, the children of James and Deanna Herrle; a sister, Mrs. Martha West and her husband, Joseph, of Butler; five nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Jean Brandon, who he marriage May 22, 1940, and who died October 16, 1995; a brother, Emory, and a sister, Ruth.
BRANDON - Friends of W. Frank Brandon, who died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. James Dollhopf, pastor of First English Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Vivian Pauline Morrow
August 27, 1925 - November 29, 2004
Vivian Pauline Morrow, age 79 of, Fenelton, Pennsylvania, died Monday, November 29, 2004 at 6:20 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 27, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Paul J. Myers and the late Dorothy M. Johnston Myers Jones.
Mrs. Morrow was a member of the former Bethany United Church of Christ in Butler and currently a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Morrow was formerly employed as a buyer for Jaffe's Department Store in Butler, Pennsylvania. She was a member of Butler Chapter #45 Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Morrow is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, whom she marriage on August 20, 1946, David E. Morrow of Fenelton, Pennsylvania; son, David P. Morrow of Fenelton, Pennsylvania; daughter, Sandra L. Bachman of Fenelton, Pennsylvania; Five Grandchildren, Four Great Grandchildren, step-sister, Mrs. William (Christina) Leroy of Butler, Pennsylvania and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.
Services will be held at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Road, Chicora, Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 2, 2004 11:00 a.m. with Reverend James A. Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Cheri Lynn Mazzanti
August 3, 1946 - November 25, 2004
Cheri Lynn Mazzanti, age 58 of Euclid Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at 5:15 a.m. at her residence after a four-year battle with cancer.
Born August 3, 1946 in Butler, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Joseph Leslie Shields and the late Elizabeth Romack.
Mrs. Mazzanti was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was employed at the Wishing Well Shop now known as the Hello Shop in Pullman Square. Mrs. Mazzanti was a collector of Snow Babies and Hallmark ornaments.
Anyone who knew her says she touched their lives through church, her friends and through work. She was a wonderful caring woman, the best mom and wife, a loving sister, daughter, aunt and niece.
Mrs. Mazzanti is survived by her husband, George A. Mazzanti, Jr. of Butler, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Todd (Dannjean) Colley and a son, Mr. and Mrs. Justin (Jessica) Mazzanti both of Butler; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Brady Mazzanti; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Shields of Butler, five sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Stan (Sandra) Nych of New Castle, Pennsylvania, Mr. and Mrs. Bif (Coleen) Guest of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Beverly J. Shields of Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Dawn) Matthews of Butler and Mr. and Mrs. Jay (Faith) Barber of Butler; her inlaws, Mr. and Mrs. George A. (Betty) Mazzanti, Sr. also of Butler; and a sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lenny (Diana) Zirnsak of Butler and a number of nieces and nephews..

Services will be held at the First Baptist Church Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend David Maitland officiating. Interment will follow in North Side Cemetery.

Gertrude S. Davey

Gertrude S. "Trudy" Davey, age 93 formerly of Terrace Apartments and Lumar Village, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, November 21, 2004 at 1:30 a.m. in the Lowrie House.
Born May 16, 1911 in Bruin, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Isaac Charles Say and the late Lucy May Stevenson.
Gertrude Davey retired in 1976 as a teacher for Parker Township schools at Eldorado, Karns City School District after consolidation of Karns City and Chicora. She attended St. Andrew's United Presbyterian Church, was an alumnus of Slippery Rock Normal School and she enjoyed reading.
Gertrude Davey is survived by one son, John C. Davey of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Gertrude Davey was preceded in death by a brother.

Alene J. Kradel, age 76 of 175 Evans City Road, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 11:45 p.m. in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Thursday, June 21, 1928 in Butler County she was the daughter of the late Wayne C. Jacox and the late Sarah Alberta Garwig.
Mrs. Kradel was a Clerk in the Administration Building for Butler Area School District. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church and she enjoyed reading.
Mrs. Kradel is survived by her husband William J. Kradel whom she marriage on August 10, 1951, by two sons and their wives, Gary L. and Kathy Kradel of Butler, Pennsylvania, James W. and Sue Kradel of Knoxville, Pennsylvania; Three Grandchildren, Lisa, Dara and Dalton Kradel; a brother, Wayne C. Jacox, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a cousin, Dorothy Haywood of Butler, Pennsylvania.
Private services will be held by the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, Pennsylvania. Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
George A. Snyder
April 21, 1911 - November 18, 2004
George A. Snyder, age 93 of 217 Bartley Avenue, Butler, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 2:45 a.m. in Butler V A Medical Center.
Born Friday, April 21, 1911 in Grove City, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late Harry A. Snyder and the late Nellie Campbell.
Mr. Snyder was a rubber press operator for Castle Rubber Company, retiring on July 1, 1972. He was protestant by faith. Mr. Snyder was a life member of Greenwood Village V. F. D., member of Tanglewood Senior Center, a veteran of U. S. Army serving in World War II.
Mr. Snyder is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Bopp, Mrs. Gary (Phyllis) Smith both of Butler, Pennsylvania; one son, Thomas Snyder of Poseyville, Indiana; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Jane Patton of Grove City, Pennsylvania, two nieces and two nephews.
Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret E. Snyder who passed away on February 8, 2000, and by one brother.

Services will be held at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday, November 21, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Dennis Molnar officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
